I recreated the double pump mechanic in my verse project, but I have some type of delay when granting the weapon. Is there a setting or something I am overlooking? It doesn't really play as a double pump just a slightly faster pump reload at this moment

hey, can you help me i have a problem with the double pump I want to make it so players can buy the double pump through the Conditional Button but it doesn't work with multiple people.

hey Graeme, really enjoying your videos.. i'v learnt a lot from your vids! So thanks :) I have got this to work for me in a map and its great, but i have a map that i really want to incorporate the double pump mechanic in to that has up to 16 players. im racking my brain trying to get it to work for all players in my map.. its got me really stuck. Wondering if you have any tips or help you could offer for this maybe? Thanks in advance and keep up the great work, cheers!

Hey thanks! and you're welcome. I haven't looked into it since making the tutorial but I imagine assigning 2 markers per player and making it work from that. Does that make sense?

During the game, the player marker produces a light effect on the player that triggers the double pump, it is visible to everyone on the map, I tried turning this option off but was unsuccessful, would anyone have any tips on how to resolve this?

Hi, thanks for the tutorial! I have a quick question, I'm new to verse, and I was wondering if I could link this ability with a buttton, so the only players that interact with it get the double pump ability, is this possible?

yes it's possible, just subscribe to the InteractedWithEvent and then run your code in there for that Agent

Hi Graeme, these videos are great! My question for you would be; If we want to implement multiple powerups into a game, ex. double pump, freeze gun, etc. Should we make a game device for each powerup so that we can manage the code better? or is it fine to just have them all in one game device?

Hi Graeme this is awesome! Do you know if its possible to make a power that gives xray vision of some kind? Something similar to the Falcon weapon that can detect players through walls or something

Hi again@@GraemeBull , I just tried this myself but I can't get it to work. When my player shoots the gold pump it returns to my inventory as desired but I still have the shot cooldown period I have to wait for. Do you have any suggestions?

So is the reason you're using this method because the actual item can't be manipulated? For example, I've recently been wondering whether the basic sword could be modified to do more damage. With the changes they released to Verse to "expose" settings of devices and other assets, does none of that include the ability to expose some of the settings of spawnable items?

I encountered a issue while testing this, for some reason when the player dies and respawns this double pump ability doesn't work anymore, i'm not sure if its something to do with the device settings or if there's something wrong with the island settings, any ideas?

​@@GraemeBull I'm pretty sure I ended up making it work, for clarification I didn't copy your tutorial word for word, as I had a class for the double pump ability while your tutorial was based on just having the double pump mechanic for said weapon, but the problem for me ended up being island settings related, for some reason I had a setting on, that would change your class to a "default class" after a round end. Also I had a non related question on how the damaged event works, I was developing code for a gulag type class, if you were of the gulag class you, and along with the player that killed you would be teleported to a different arena where the winner of that arena would be able to go back to the fight(this gulag class/system is popularly used by cod:warzone). I was able to make this code work but I had 1 issue. For some reason the code would only work if the final weapon used to kill was a shotgun (only tested 2 weapons), but wouldn't work if it was an assault rifle. I can provide you with further information about the code structure, please let me know if you can help as I am new to Verse, wondering if this is a issue with the damaged event class as i also had a few problem with the same class when making a freeze player gun but this time it would only work after the first shot, ie the first shot would not freeze the enemy.

so I copied this method .it works with one player just fine.But how do i get like 9 player to have double pump?I am trying to make a box pvp map with 9 players in it.Currently what i did is just added all my player spawners in item granter to grant the items to all spawners but i am not sure.When the game starts with 9 people the pump doesn't work at all and keeps glitching ,only works for like 1 person at a time but when it goes down to 3 people alive the pump works for everyone.Is there any way to fix that so that it works for everyone?

There's a way to "build" it for all players. I've covered multiplayer concepts in a couple of other videos here so you'll have to get those concepts sorted and then build out from there

@@GraemeBull I couldn't get that to work but its ok.But,one thing that is annoying is that player marker device keeps showing even though i have the visuals turned off.Idk why it keeps happening

Hey graeme Thanks for making this more visible, but i want to warn you that this mechanic is having a lot of bugs due the player marker not triggering correctly and making the Pump blinking!

hey Graeme, just getting into Fortnite and UEFN and this channel is a real help! One thing that's bugging me so far - if I create a custom material (landscape) in a project is it possible to save it as a preset to use in other projects? I can only see my current active project folder (along with Fortnite/Epic content) but can't access anything from other projects

Not that I'm aware of. It's a really limiting thing. You can copy a whole project though, so some people will have a base project with all the things they think they might use in a game and then do a copy of that for every game they make.

@@GraemeBull thanks Graeme - this is ModoBro, I tried to post a link to UE documentation but I got blocked and now can't reply! I sussed it out - Migration. You can select individual assets, materials and whole scenes from one project to another. Right click the item (in my case a landscape material) > asset action > migrate and then direct it to the desired project's content folder. It's easy! I'm thinking maybe have one project in which to create custom materials so they're kept in one place. If you search for 'migration' Unreal you'll find the documentation
