This easy and quick breakfast recipe , from Karnataka, is a savior for those lazy mornings when you don't want to make anything elaborate .
Gojju avalakki is a tasty version of millet poha with tanginess from tamarind, spice from traditional South Indian sambar powder, warmth from pepper and a hint of sweetness from jaggery .
The groundnuts and dals used in the tempering add a crunch to the dish .
And yes its healthy too since we have used millet poha / flakes to make it .
The use of sesame seeds adds the much required calcium in our diet .
The best part is ,it can actually be made in 15 mins .
Since millet flakes are soaked and steamed and then pressed into flakes , its not even necessary to pre plan and soak the millet as you would need to with millet rice or rava.
This makes it an instant go to breakfast for whenever you are in a hurry or even when you are travelling .
