Ingredients:
Heath Riles BBQ Cajun Creole Garlic Butter Rub
• Heath Riles BBQ Beef Rub
• 1/4 Heath Riles BBQ Beef Injection
• 4lb Prime Rib
• 12 cloves of garlic
• 2 sticks of butter
• Bundle of thyme
• Bundle of rosemary
Directions:
1.Fire up the pit using Royal Oak Charcoal Hardwood Pellets, setting the Traeger Ironwood XL to 250℉.
2. Trim the prime rib, tying it with butcher twine for even cooking and juicy results. Check the video for a quick demo!
3. Inject the roast in a grid pattern with a mixture of ¼ cup Heath Riles BBQ Beef Injection and 1 cup water.
4. Season generously on all sides with a mix of Heath Riles BBQ Beef Rub and Heath Riles BBQ Cajun Creole Garlic Butter Rub.
5. Place the seasoned prime rib on the Traeger Ironwood XL and set a ChefAlarm for 100℉ for basting.
6. Create a basting mixture with garlic, butter, thyme, and rosemary in a cast iron skillet.
7. Start basting when the prime rib reaches 100℉, adding layers of the herbed mixture.
8. Once the prime rib hits 120℉, take it off the grill and let it rest for 30 minutes before indulging!
