In this video I go through the process I use every morning to view Vanna, Gamma, Dark Pools, and other data to get an idea for how the day will go. This process can be used for any asset supported by Volland and Tradytics.

Thank you for your videos! This one in particular will really help me to structure my trading morning routine! Do you still use rocket scouter methodology to make a decision whether to trade this day or not and if yes to mark on the chart price levels with potential vertical volume spikes?

I havent been subscribed to rocket scooter for awhile. I switched to Volland so I could view the data and make informed decisions based off the data, particularly vanna, combined with gamma as well as dark pools & raw delta structure correlations from Tradytics. I personally wasn’t a fan of the irrational markets theory presented by rocket scooter and was really only using it for the hedge pressure and monthly hedge pressure levels.

@ 6:55 How often do these predictions happen and can you do that on Nasdaq? If so, I'd like to see more content on that aspect. Thank you.

They happen quite a bit actually, we typically see the flow build up happen before the big change as institutions reposition. However, during times of high volatility flow can lag behind, usually dealer positioning can clue us in first. Take a look at this post I made before this week opened and it was clear, along with dealer structure, the big drop was incoming. twitter.com/fatty_trades/status/1627378097791139840?s=46&t=NsbRyB0jAVKY-QEiqxM4nQ Anyway, regarding NQ, I actually trade NQ more than ES & I use a combination of SPX/SPY Dealer data to help prep for doing so. I trade ES during the NY open and NQ really any other time of day just because NQ is a little too volatile for my liking during the NY open. But since they are so tightly correlated, when we see indications of a big directional move incoming, it applies to ES, NQ & even YM or RTY typically.

so one does need both volland and traditycs to do all this, rigth?

Kevin, how do you determine a vanna level is a repellent v/s a magnet? Thanks
@FattyTrades
@FattyTrades Жыл бұрын
I break that all down in this video. In short positive vanna above spot or negative vanna below spot is a magnet (usually correlated with positive gamma but not always). Negative vanna above spot or positive vanna below spot is typically a repellent (usually correlates with negative gamma but not always). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hrucidOEr7DIlqs.html

Hey @Fatty Trade (Kevin) - I see you did a few videos on Rocket Scooter earlier but lately I see Tradytics based approach. What's your take on the platforms and how you rank them both?
@FattyTrades
@FattyTrades Жыл бұрын
I tried rocket scooter for a time & I like their service but it was too new and needed to mature a bit. Also, I didn’t agree with the irrationality principle they pushed a lot but that could be ignored. I personally prefer Tradytics because I can view the data myself and they constantly are expanding their tools and have a very stable platform.

Hi Kevin, I am interest in how to read (bullish or bearish) on "Flow Map", "Flow Timeline" and "Dealers Market Diary" provided by tradytics/options-market page please? If you already have a videos for them, please point me to it. Great videos as always!!!

I am a HUGE fan of dealer diary and have incorporated in my regular strat, shown here. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eN91bL1j1dXGdIE.html The how it works can be found here. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mOCgrZyF2863lqs.html I still need to cover flow map and timeline, however flow map can work in a similar way as dealer diary but smaller impact from a weekly perspective.

How accurate do you feel the Tradytics vanna data is compared to Volland? Thanks.
@FattyTrades
@FattyTrades Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately Tradytics doesn’t display vanna properly which is why I use Volland for dealer data & why Trady & Volland partnered up. Tradytics only shows contracts at the bid/ask in its GEX/VEX levels so it misses significant positions. This is common actually, services like spot gamma & GammaEdge make assumptions about dealers being long calls & short puts which is also inaccurate. Volland is the only one that makes no assumptions & includes every contract that hits the tape. They have a complex method to figure out if dealers are long or short and compares against many data points to ensure accuracy. They are the only service I know of that does it to this extent which is why I signed up. I still love Trady and they have many great services. I use them for what they’re good at - uniquely potent data driven insights of flow data, dark pools and raw deltas across the market. Dynamic hedging requirements however is best shown by Volland. Volland shows us what hedge funds are looking at using the classical hedge fund methods. Combining the two gives some incredible insights and can be done for the top 200 optionable assets across the market. It’s as close to a crystal ball as it gets, especially when combined with the charts.

Can you do a video on when you should look out as your option trade starts to go into the money and can be “exercised”. Even after you make a perfect trade I’m wondering at which point do you close the position as it starts to go “into the money”. I’m still doing paper trades so I’m not exposed to that threat yet. That’s the only reason I haven’t moved over to real money yet, how to prevent being exercised.
@FattyTrades
@FattyTrades Жыл бұрын
Sure will do, but keep in mind you only have a threat of being exercised if you are selling options. If you are doing spreads where you sell options, the legs you buy also protect you from them getting exercised. I do want to make a video about options selling at some point but most of my content is centered around buying to open then selling to close, so there is no chance of having them exercised, since as the option buy you would have to be the one to exercise them.

@@FattyTrades hope to see that vid as that’s the only type of trade I do, either selling the call or put, to get paid up front instead of at the end of the trade.

Subscription based. It’s a complex tool that requires a good understanding of Vanna and Gamma, however if you learn it, it will pay for itself in one day. Especially if you structure targets and spreads around vanna repellents and magents which I plan to do some videos about soon.
