Your video is still very helpful and informative, 3 years later. One thing I do when deciding pin size, is to paper print the design at various sizes. It gives me a better idea of what works best. Sometimes I even trim them down and place them on my shirt, to see which gives the best visual appeal.

Do factories allow you to make color variants within the same batch? For example if I wanted 100 units of the same pin, but I want 50 of them red, 25 of them blue and 25 of them yellow, do they do that?

Hey boss!! This is SUPER USEFUL!!! Thank you so much for making this content. I've been researching pin design like mad and finally came across something perfectly answering all my questions. You're the bomb! Bonus question: I know they're usually okay with PDF's, but do you think I could go the extra mile and deliver an .ai vector file?? Would that make it easier for them to bring cost down or do you think it wouldn't really matter. Thanks!! - Nate

@TheLittlePaintCreative
@TheLittlePaintCreative 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there. I know it's been a little while but maybe this will still help. You do not need to make your art the size of the final pin. However, it does help a lot to print samples at home of your desired dimensions. This should give you an idea of what to expect.

Honestly, its very hard to make enamel pins on your own because it requires you melting metal and needing big machinery. If you want enamel pins I'd recommend doing them in a factory. if you want buttons or any other type of pins you'll likely be able to make them at home.

Thanks so much for this. Important question... how can we tell it's a factory that treats it's employees fairly? Are there international certifications or anything specific to look for?
@Pinlord
@Pinlord 5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, it's honestly really hard to know even if factories have certificates. The best way is to go to the factory directly and inspect it yourself. The second best option it to ask them to send you certification that they treat their employees fairly and trust that those certifications are good. Most chinese manufacturers these days are now up to standard regulations.
@Pinlord
@Pinlord 5 жыл бұрын
Apart from going to the factory to check it out yourself, you're going to have to rely of whatever certifications they give you. Unless you're an expert it's honestly really hard to know for certain.
