There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

You sir, just saved me a whole bunch of time and effort. I had jumper cables, a truck, and a whole mess of rope involved in my ACMEesque plans for moving our zero-turn tomorrow morning. The landscapers couldn't move it after multiple attempts so I wobbled out there figuring brute strength would be the ticket and tried to pick it up by the ass end.... 2 deep cuts on the inside of my knuckles, a bruised ego, and a deserved lesson in physics were obtained that day. Toro is relatively new to our region and very cheap so an influx is coming. I believe one is about to arrive to my workshop where a customer has just inherited a contract for mowing and ran his machine for 5 minutes and hydraulics stopped. Your video was nice and clear to send him some trouble shooting thank you. Sad to see these just get inexplicably more complex electronically overriding nice mechanical simplicity.

Very helpful in helping to run down the possible issues and leading me to the real problem -- the electronic brake rods ! On my 3200, the rods were impossible to push so I ended up disconnecting them (at the front end). On the 3200, there are two rods. Once done I was able to move the mower. Thanks!

Well I thought this might help my engine and "everything is off frame because i need my engine mount hole fixed they have gotten larger and engine is bouncing around .. mine is troybilt colt rtz zero turn and I pushed those in but they just sprung back they will not stay. i need to move this mower as soon as I can so I can take it to get it fixed what should i do, can I hook the battery and starter up and that work all belts are off pto off everything is off????? help me

The drive belt on my gravely zero turn broke while mowing. What do I need to do to pull it to level ground to put a new belt on it??

Good one. I learned that lesson the hard way. First day I used it, something happened so that it would not move forward or backward--under power. And I was stuck along the path on a tree line about a 1/4 mile from my home...on a slight incline toward the trees...next to a small sink hole above it...as it was starting to get dark...with a severe storm coming. I kid you not. So I turned if off and tried to call Toro or my dealer for help (to know what happened that it would stop moving under power). No go. Too late in the evening for that (and Toro doesn't take direct calls but only directs you to their dealer lookup site). When I got word the storm was now a tornado warning, I didn't want to leave the thing out there, so I got my UTV and tried to pull it...and it would NOT budge. I could see the wheels were literally locked and dragging along the (now wet) ground. I gave up, waited out the storm, and while doing that, looked in the manual. Sure enough, about half-way through it, I found this indication of it being an electronic brake. Wow, lesson learned. That evening, we brought it home. And I'm sure some of you are wondering, what was the original problem. It turned out somehow the drive belt came off. Not the mower belt. The drive belt. And there's no easy getting to that--even in the light of day, and even the dealer said it would be tough. So they offered to just swap me a new one. Of course, I was a little worried that this could happen again, but they had never seen it happen (in previous year models) and felt it might have been a manufacturing defect. I was really tempted just to get a refund and try another model or brand. They then pointed out that I had 30 days to try it out, so I figured I'd give it another change. And now approaching that month deadline, I think I'll keep her. That "my ride" is sweet! I've got bumps and ruts (in various places and for various reasons) where this thing just floats over them. At 57, my back appreciates that!

Out of curiosity, what if only one tire is locked? We have the Toro 5050 timecutter and the right rear tire stopped moving while my husband was cutting the other day. We had no choice but to tow it as it ended up sitting in a ditch close to the road.

Yea... Has those brake release thingies you pull then slipped in the keyway there to hold it released. Now, not my issue. Just locked up while mowing and won't engage even though i have power and blades work or if off.

Have the same torro as you and I am waiting for more help to punch it. It is in a hill and won’t go up just slides down but If it goes down it flips

I have a toro mower ss4225. When I want to go right. It turns very slow and makes some noise. Turning left is ok. Going up hill is a problem too. Pump adjustment maybe?

I have an older Simplicity Regent 12 HP Hydro. We have always been able to push the tractor by pulling back the release lever. All of a sudden when I pull the handle back it just snaps forward. If I hold it back and try to move the tractor I can tell that it is not free wheeling. Any suggestions?

I have a bunton bzt zero turn that won't start and keeps blowing a fuse. I couldn't figure out how to move it to my trailer. I hope this works so that I can get it to the shop. Thanks for the info homie. #RespectTheHustle.

My Toro TimCutter HD will not start at all. Battery tested Ok, I am thinking it Break Control Module. \ Where in the heck do I find the BCM and and is there any easily way to Troubleshoot that Module?

I need help ASAP! Please please. My zero turn lawn mower handle is stuck and won't go back into the slot so it wouldn't stop. I got it to stop by turning the whole thing off, but it freaked me out. Do you know how I can fix it?? I just noticed there's a little L shaped metal piece that must have came off of something. I don't have social media so I'm just going to KZfaq to hopefully get help
