Great little tutorial Dez. I always find pumping up the vessel whilst draining aids removing alot of the residual water in the hydro manifold . You were fighting to remove that block 🤣 👍

Great video again. You made it look easy but we all know a boiler that has been in situ for 5 years or more it's not so easy. I would also suggest to put the boiler into service mode to aid with drain down cause it moves the diverter valve in to mid position also if a boiler has deaeration function best practise to use it.

You're a god I have done a few of these never as quickly as you and some of them can be real bastards anybody doing it need to watch out for Sharp sheet metal in the boiler case also real handy to have a wet Vek there and if you're feeling really sharp take the cap off the expansion vessel check and if necessary pressure it back up it's quite possible by the time you get to take the Hydro block out will be worn out you could check that before you drained and strip the boiler by pressing the shrider valve if you get water out it is clucked and you can have the conversation with the customer befor trying to haggle after the boiler strip down.This will save you the embarrassment of having the ev going glug glug this happens sometimes even after draining not trying to be cocky just to help the youngsters .

Yes, always pump the pressure vessel dry when draining and set div valve mid position, I also have my wet and dry plugged in ready to go if needed. Those seal kits aren't cheap either, they seem to have every O ring and clip on the boiler in them and you only use a few of them, unless there is a smaller pack, the fibre washers are unique to Worcester, standard ones don't seem to fit. Great video as usual.

And sometimes harnesses are not coming out. Goshhh, not very much fan working on Worcester to be honest. Sometimes really easy things turn out to be nightmare. Not engineer friendly boiler I must say.

You certainly get plenty of practice replacing hydro blocks on WB boilers. They fail even with shock arresters fitted. It's because the plastics are crap....but hey, WHICH likes them so crack on....as it were 🤣

Usually it is easier to take out parts, but putting them back again is a mission. Once I changed burner gasket, and because new gasket was thicker and sliding in the fan assembly back in its places, was nightmare.
