How to Remove the Back Pad on your Leap Chair:
1. Remove the two screws, located under the support bar on the back of the chair (V1 Leap Only).
2. Pull upwards on back pad of your chair to lift the chair off the plastic retaining hooks.
3. Remove elastic band / channel that attaches pad to back frame. You’ll want to apply downward pressure to remove this from the channel.
How to Re-Install the Back Pad on your Leap Chair:
1. Slide the back pad onto retaining clips on the back frame by sliding the back pad downwards onto the back. Make sure all clips are engaged.
2. Snap the elastic band / plastic channel into place on the under side of the back frame. Note: This step can be a bit tricky, and we recommend watching the video to get a better view on how this is done.
3. Re-install the two screws on back you removed earlier (V1 Leap Only).

How to Remove the Seat Pad on your Leap Chair:
Tools Required: Long handled flat-head screwdriver or other long flat object.
1. Turn the chair around / get behind the chair
2. Locate the stop button, which is located under the seat, on the left side from behind. You’ll be able to spot it by looking under the seat and using a flashlight.
3. Depress white stop button you identified in step 2, using long handled flat-head screwdriver.
4. Spin the chair back around.
5. Press seat depth lever & pull seat to remove.

Wow, can't thank you enough for this. My >15 year Leap v1 has been acting funny ever since a screw fell out of it, have no idea where that screw was attached to, but I think it's important. I was trying to figure out how to take the bottom off to take a look at what's going on. Would never have figured out the white tab without your video. When I have some free time I'll remove it and see what I can see, but just wanted to thank you for that tip!

Thanks for the video, seat pad, and back! I'm a big fan of my leap but the seat was getting hard and the fabric was a little dingy. Swapping the backpad was pretty easy, the chair cushion gave me a little trouble, but I was able to get it with a 6" screwdriver blade going under the metal plate, after I listened to all the directions. Hi, Do you guys recommend to steam clean the bottom and back fabric/foams from time to time or would that damage the fabric or glue? If yes how often should it be done with just distilled water? Thanks.
@CrandallOfficeFurniture
@CrandallOfficeFurniture 3 жыл бұрын
Steam cleaning should not damage the fabric or foam. It may loosen up the glue a bit, but once it cools back down it should be fine. We always steam the pads and remove the fabric at the same time, then allow those pads to air dry with the fabric off, so our process is slightly different than traditional steam cleaning. Just make sure to properly dry the fabric and pad with a fan - the biggest concern I would have would be it not drying fully and ending up with some kind of mold issues.

Do you sell the seats and back by itself, or do any upholstering work?
@CrandallOfficeFurniture
@CrandallOfficeFurniture 3 жыл бұрын
We do not sell the actual seats and backs themselves, as we would need to cannibalize a chair to do that. We offer two options - You can either send in your pads for upholstery, which we will upholster and then return to you. The second option is for a slightly higher price, we can upholster pads from our inventory and then have you live-swap the pads and return your used pads to us to replenish our inventory.

Hi, I got my chair from eBay. Is it normal for the chair rails to have movement play rock?
@CrandallOfficeFurniture
@CrandallOfficeFurniture Жыл бұрын
Good morning, it depends on how much play and movement. If it is drastic and can be moved and rock back and forth significantly then we would say your seat glides might be missing. Play and movement is to be expected to some degree so that the seat can be moved back and forth with the seat depth adjustment. If you'd like to send us a video to Contact@crandalloffice.com of the movement we would be happy to let you know if that is normal or not. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

Just a little tip in case you don't have a long handle screw driver. I just did this with a sturdy 12" ruler. You just need something thin, sturdy, and long enough to reach that little stopper and push it up. It doesn't take a lot of force.

@@rain-wanders Well that sucks... maybe your ruler isn't stiff enough? I was trying to think of what other household item might work and JUST now tried again with a butter knife - it worked. @@smorebrandsI think a butter knife is a good idea! I tried to use one, though, and it doesn't seem to be activating the switch. Is the red Leap some sort of V1.5? It does have a different rear bar compared to the green Leap. But I thought the back of a Leap V1 was shorter than the V2 as well as more rearwardly curved like in a past video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iampZKijr62VZac.html

The red Leap is a V1 Highback - which is kind of a V1.5 - that's not a terrible description - everything about it is the same as a standard V1 Leap, except for the height and shape of the back, which is very similar to the V2. @@CrandallOfficeFurnitureI'm having trouble getting the switch to depress. I don't have a long nose screwdriver, so I've taped two butter knives together and have gotten them to touch the button, but it doesn't seem to be enough pressure to activate the mechanism. I've been trying for over 30 minutes. Edit: it's also a matter of trying to exert pressure on the white button while also trying to hold down the seat depth button while also trying to slide the seat forward. I need three hands for all of this. 😅 If I apply pressure to the butter knives (which I have now replaced with a metal drinking straw), I can get the white button to depress, but when I go to hold down the seat depth button and slide the seat forward, I lose pressure on the knives/straw and the seat refuses to move. Edit edit: I managed to get to the point where I am performing all three actions at the same time (thanks to pushing with my wrist on the seat instead of my hand), but the seat still won't move. Perhaps even when the button is depressed, it is not going far enough and the seat lock mechanism is still active...I'm really at a loss here. I've spent an hour in total on the entire process so far and I only wanted to spend 5 minutes. It's frustrating because it's not even a maintenance thing; I'm trying to correct an issue that has been present since I first received the chair. Edit edit edit: okay, I just rewatched the video and the straw is definitely not causing it to depress all the way. Maybe I should tape a bunch of straws together so they are stronger? 🤔 Edit edit edit edit: I managed to get it off!! I think my issue was actually that I was literally holding the seat depth lever down because the video says to hold it down, but when I watched the video, I saw that you were actually pushing the lever up, not down. Once I pulled the lever up instead of down, I was able to get the seat off.
