Virtually all single speed motors are made by the same manufacturer, so you can replace the motor from your pump and replace it with an exact replacement all yourself. This job is not complicated, but there are some important steps that many people don't know know about that can effect how long your repair lasts.

Super helpful. Was your pump a superflo and then you replaced the motor with a centurion? Does it have to be a pentair?

Just what I needed, got my new motor today installing tomorrow. My old motor only lasted 4 seasons in PA, the bottom was rusty and the entire area on the motor side of the mounting plate, and the facing surface of the motor surrounding the shaft was coated with crusty salt, assuming the motor shaft seal went bad. Do you recommend covering the motor with those cheapy plastic housing units. My original Hayward pump lasted 10 yrs, but the 2nd Century only lasted 4. Probably my fault for not catching the motor seal leak but it seems premature. Any thoughts. Really appreciate the video and the pace was excellent, great details.

Thanks for the input! Motors these days aren’t going to last as long as the old ones. I was talking to a supplier, and the steel isn’t as good as the pumps 20-30 years ago. The best thing you can do is keep a clean and clear equipment pad that allows plenty of air flow around the equipment, and check for leaks regularly.
