If one of those systems are not working correctly on your vehicle, you might need to replace the combination switch. Wow, fantastic instruction and video. This will be my next step if I can't disassemble the stalk itself. I am convinced that there is dirt under the wiper speed / off twisty switch thing so I was initially looking for a way to disassemble the stalk itself so I can clean it out. But this replacement is super easy - thanks!

You gotta go deeper I just tore out 3 on vehicles that were 01 and 03. The wires are connected to the switch and the plug is under the shield on bottom of your steering column. Not sure if you got the years wrong on the video? But none of the 3 I just did had the plugs right on the switch like that

Mine neither! Wtf!! Clam shell around column is locked in place by key switch. And wiring harness is a big ass cumbersome thing they has three big connections in a monster ass her was locked together with tabs and a 7mm socket. And then you got to use a bunch of picks to pull the harness apart!!! And even hooks to the gd brake light switch. Absolute garbage design. Take the gd steering wheel off!!?? And switch? And air bag? Junk. I took a Dremel tool and cut a square hole to the right of the hazard light button to get to top hex bolt. Used a 1/4 wrench on a star bit and duct taped the but you the closed end side of 1/4 inch wrench to remove other hex bolt. This vehicle interior is absolute garbage.

Thanks for the video. Only a couple small discrepancies for me with a 2k 2500. The wire harness connected back to the firewall connector block that comes loose with the center bolt. I had to remove a metal cover over the wires as well. Also that T25 bolt underneath the stalk body was a real pain, had to crank the steering wheel all the way left to get enough clearance to put a bit halfway on it. Eventually I used just the T25 bit and a wrench with small turns at a time. Worked since the bolt doesn't hold much weight.

Thanks for the video. I followed it step by step. The only problem I had trying to loosen the botton bolt with the signal switch. You're method of going in on an angle didn't work for me. I ended up breaking off the old switch and removing the plastic around the bolt. The neighbors cheered me on.

Great video and thorough explanation! My turn signals would work very sporadically, so I thought replacing the switch would be the fix. Turns out it isn't. New switch and still no turn signals. Any thoughts as to what else I could try?

Is the same switch that works the highbeams as well, my high beams will turn on sometimes and not be able to turn them off with out wiggling that switch around

Turn the steering wheel a little bit more to the right the bottom screw on the switch housing is way more accessible

Do I need to worry about disconnecting the battery so it won't set off the airbag or would that even be possible?

Good video for the 2003 and up trucks. However, this is NOT the procedure for the 2002 and earlier - they have a different part number for the switch and the install procedure is slightly different. If you have a 2002 and earlier, keep looking for a video with the appropriate procedure.

The one I got at junkyard does same thing... right turn signal makes high beams come on. Either another bad one or some other issue 🤔 🤷 😕

Won’t hold you to it but could this be the problem why suddenly my wipers only work on high and the washer fluid won’t spray any longer? Everything else is fine. Thank you!

Okay I'm desperate so I might be totally off topic at least when it comes to your car and my car I have a 2010 Mazda 3. I turn my car on and my hazards are blinking every time I turn my car on and so I go to press the hazard button which is in between the air vents nothing happens hazards are still flashing press it again nothing happens hazards are still flashing the only time I can get my hazards to not flash is when I pull my fuse out for my hazards but then in turn I have no turning signals what could be the problem could it be my turn signal switch cuz I've checked all the wiring under the hood for my lights everything seems fine the fuses for my hazards and turn signals are not blown they're obviously working cuz my hazards are constantly going off I am stumped.... help!!

My washers continually spray when I turn on wipers except for intermittent. I am not pushing washer lever. Is this my problem or wiper control module by wiper motor ?

My 05 Silverado would give me a warning ding and then the headlight would go out. May stay out five minutes or 2 hours. But at least it warned me. Lol

I'm sorry but this is not the wiring that my 2002 chevy silverado 1500 has. It includes the cruise control too. Maybe this video is for simple silverado. I'm not sure but maybe the title needs to be more specific on which silverados from 99-07. You really do a great video on instructions though. 👍👍👍👍 wish it was my type of turn signal switch. I'm pretty sure it would of clarified a lot of questions for me. That connection with the black clip is farther in toward the back right side of column. Also mine has some other connections on the right side where the metal copper parts go towards the column. Plus it includes 2 wires, black & green, connected to a rectangular gray smal box with some kind of a push button at the end. I was mainly looking to see if this video explained that & of course if it was the same model of turn signal switch mine has. Hope you do one with the type of switch I have. 👍👍👍

ONLY My right trailer brake light would not function. It turned out to be one of the switches inside of the turn signal switch. That was bad. All other functions of the right tail light on the trailer worked just fine, only the brake light would not function.

It may do what you need for other functions.But then,I would buy one to fit my vehicle and not press my luck.Your wiring may not be in the same places.

'06 - Definitely '00 - Not sure I did this in my '06 WT and the two stalks are identical except the cruise one has an extra pigtail with 4 pin male connector on the end. That truck was prewired with the corresponding female 4 pin connector, so just adding the cruise stalk added cruise control. I also have a '00 LS and have never had that stalk out, but it came with cruise control from the factory. The '00 was prewired for (but did not come with) the power rearview. They may or may not be prewired for cruise control.

FYI: This is not for 99-06 .........The 99-02 and 03-06/07 GMT800s are different !!! You can tell by the red or black hazard light button.

Mine is a 2002 gmc savana 3500 5.7 liter. Can’t figure out what the hell is wrong with high beams. Traced every thing possible and ended up going with this part. Taking mine apart isn’t exactly the same. The clam shells that goes around the steering column is locked in by the key switch. Junk. Junk. Brittle plastic. What a p o s design! The whole interior has fallen to sh!t in my van. Cheapest made vehicle I ever owned. Constant door labels busting and falling out. Dash. Trim. Constant wiring. I don’t jerk or slam anything around. Ever. I own lots of heavy equipment that I baby and maintain. These gm products are just awful. Awful. I ended up taking a dreamed and cutting a square hole in top of clam shell to the right of the hazard button to get top hex bolt out. Was NOT going to remove steering wheel or key switch to remove this GD switch. Now I got to but all this trim bs to make my van look safe to drive! Gm engineers need to be in prison. Every GM truck, Van, and even my moms buick ranker has had to have the switch replaced. P o s design.
