A short summary of the ideas from the video above: 1. If you cannot be first in your category, setup a new category. The Blue Ocean strategy. 2. Don't obsess about scaling. Focus on the product. 3. Gain 1000 true fans. They will be the drivers of your growth. 4. Measure your KPIs and train to deliver your message in a clear and concise way. 5. 80/20 principle (works with your content, clients etc) 6. Do many tests and look for the stuff that works. You are only starting, that's okay. 7. In the middle of your journey find time to stop, evaluate what you have already achieved and correct your course direction. 8. Hard (and smart) work is key.

@Don Z I agree with and I too am an incredibly hands on parent. If you don't believe me go check my youtube it is very apparent. All of my not for profit videos are shot at his school. School is still kind of a sham. It's a shit system and even the most authentic and genuine teachers struggle. Standardized testing leaves most creative children behind. IT IS NOT a perfect system. I also am fully aware that I'm commenting on a 7 month old comment. Goddam the internet is fascinating. I hope you are not dead.

0:30 Better create a category and own it. Then go to what exists 2:25 Don't obsesse on scaling. Don't work for the awards. Focus on a great work Read small giants. 5:15 Create podcasting on something you are curious about You can then convince others to be invested in it 7:00 If you are taking inspiration from other podcasts understand what made it them. Is it the host, the guests etc. Focus on what interests you. You like that attract your tribe 10:00 Focus on the critical things which are mostly uncomfortable and like that you can outpace others 13:20 Focus on starting Then focus on repetition. Focus on discipline then. And then focus on repetition and decipline with a great video 16:50 תכוונו לנישה מסוימת ואל תתפזרו

This is a goldmine of information, I will continue to absorb over time. I would love to hear a small talk on how to control money after you've begun your business, this seems like a conversation that very few people have. It seems like it would be easy to drown in success if you had no idea how to leverage it. Thank you for your contributions, Mr. Ferriss.

Tim, your work ethic, hustle, and marketing skills are legendary. I remember seeing interviews and case studies about tactics you used to make your projects successful. Do you think entrepreneurs are somewhat cheated when the people they look up to preach, "follow your passion! take risks!" without sharing the secret sauce of their hyper growth tactics? You're easily one of the most generous, tactic-oriented guys just out there, just wondering your opinion.

"Indiscriminate action is reflective of too little thinking and planning, and that is lazy and that is one of the most destructive forms of laziness because it is socially reinforced and people will encourage you to do that. In other words they will say "just don't stand there do something." Well if you're constantly doing things that are not carefully thought through you will end up doing the opposite the 80/20 principle you will end up specializing in unimportant things." I have been searching for someone to say this very thing long time.

Tim, this morning I stumbled across your interview on Morning Brew. After, watched two of your videos, including the above. Your guidance regarding starting a business essentially is what I experienced starting my first service corporation back in the early 80s. As founder and CEO, I operated and built that business into a North American competitor over forty plus years, before retiring it six years back. During that time, I started and sold two other businesses. I enjoyed and could relate to your experience on many levels, only my experiences began back in the 70s, including the effects of psychedelics. I hope your audience listened closely, especially to when you say, if they don't have time to read, they probably should pass on starting a business. Thank You!

I thank you for introducing me to the book called 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing, it made me see something that I had been thinking about and that is, "The basic issue in marketing is to create a category in which you can be first. Law of Leadership: It is better to be first than to be the best. It's much easier to penetrate in mind first than trying to convince someone to switch to a better product than than the one who first penetrated the mind." Thank you very much. Good year

People making jokes about you're cap but here's just another example of you taking you're own advice and filming 2-3 months worth of videos in a day to create a really valuable group of videos.
