I hate how this interview makes Allen look like some kind of radical, when all he's promoting is seeing smoking for what it really is, without the addiction glasses clouding your view. He is a legend and he's helped me to quit.

I'm with Allen Carr...now on my 5th day smoke free, enjoying the withdrawal effects as an experience and as part of the process to a healthier lifestyle. I used to think that withdrawals were to be feared, but I am an adult... no adult should be scared of a little headache and flu like symptoms. On 5th day, passed the worst of it I think. Happy Days :0)

I didn't truly understand his program and that's why i failed 3 times to quit in those 7 months. But then this January, I understood and had enough. That's why i didn't fail this time. So smokers really need to get a hold of this program. EVEN if they fail with it at first and continue smoking, it's okay! As long as they keep the program and keep attempting to quit, it will be permanent one time. But you also don't HAVE to waste time; you can understand it the 1st time if you're smart and wise.

I was a heavy smoker for 24 years. I tried to convince everyone how much I truly loved doing it. A friend who was also a heavy smoker told me he quit after reading a book! I downloaded it onto my tablet but didn't read it right away. I told myself it. Was because I had company but none of them smoked so I was outside alone most of the time. I did read it one evening whle smoking on my back patio and by the time I was done with the book I couldn't wait to put the smoke I was holding out. I was so glad to go to bed a non smoker. No one believed it right away but now that some time has passed and I'm totally calm about it with no withdrawals they are totally proud of me and happy that I will be spending time with them in the house instead of hidden away on the back patio smoking and getting irritated at them for interrupting me. What an idiot I was and I am so happy to be free from that I can't even express it. I read his weight loss book right after and am trying that method now although I have to say giving up smoking was a walk in the park compared to giving up some of the foods I need to in order to live healthier. I just remind myself that if I could give up a smoke giving up sugar is a breeze. I love Allen Carr and thank him from the bottom of my heart for the giant dose of commom sense. That's something the world is in short supply of these days!!

PATRIZIA HEARITIGE Thanks for your encouraging story.. and for taking the time to give us an update three years later haha. You're awesome. I'm currently in the process of giving up smoking, again, cold turkey like I have a couple of times before, but I think this time I'm going to purchase Allen Carr's book to read and help me out a bit more. I feel like a complete fool having gotten into it, again, after successfully quitting more than once on my own.. and it was because I made the mistake of having them on occasions with others thinking I could just have one or two and that'd be it, but I was wrong. I'm going to purchase and read Allen Carr's book not only because I like good reads, but also to really drive the point home for myself this time around.

PATRIZIA HEARITIGE By the way, I was unaware that he also has a weight loss book out there, which I'm now going to read, as well, seeing as one of my main reasons for wanting to stop smoking is to be better able to get myself back into shape.. and smoking only gets in the way of that. Thanks for letting us know about it.

I have done a lot of research and made many attempts to quit smoking. Simpy put, Allen Carr is the only one that knows what he is talking about when it comes to quitting smoking (or any drug for that matter). I wish he was still alive, but am happy that people are still trying to carry out his work. IF YOU SMOKE, DON'T WORRY! ALLEN CARR WILL EXPLAIN THE WAY OUT OF THE MAZE! I'm going on 3 years and I never even think about it anymore!!! I owe this man my life!!! Love from the USA.

Do it!!! Because HIS way...i didnt truly get ingrained into my mind for 7 months of trying to quit with it. But then i finally quit and it's been 24 days and i haven''t suffered once in these 24 days ... no torture... yes there was like 1 or 2 times where i saw someone smoking in my college and for 1 MOMENT I felt sort of jealous... but then it went away right away. His program is the best quit smoking program EVER because it's not even a typical quit smoking program.. So thanks to Allen Carr.

I praise Allen Carr's method and only wish they would advocate it more when people need help to quit smoking. Unless you remove the want to smoke or the feeling of fear of quitting smoking you will not be a happy non-smoker, and will continue feeling deprived and that you are fighting a constant battle. His book addresses all these psychological nuances and makes you realise that you are not giving up anything only gaining freedom from a never ending addiction.

The first line she came out with that stopping smoking is harder than quitting heroin is a sublime message, they are trying to put it to your head that when you quit smoking then you will have the same withdraw problems as you would have when you come of smack,, believe me from my own experience quitting smoking is no were close to coming of heroin, ,

I tried the Nicotine patches and would get shooting pains up my arm so stopped. Quite a long time later I came across an Allen Carrs stop smoking vhs video in a car boot sale. I still left it a while but then I thought i'd give it a go. I watched the video from beginning to end (you can carry on smoking until you finish the video or the book) and had my last cigarette. That was about 10 years ago and I can honestly say I have not wanted a cigarette since then. ( I smoked 20 -30 a day). I had my last cigarette feeling free as I knew I would not be tied to my cigarette pack and lighter ever again! Thank you Allen Carr for your gift to the world RIP xxx

This was a shameful interview. They treated Allen Carr with contempt. If they had read his book, they would know his intentions were true and pure. He was already wealthy, the book had nothing to do with making money. I quit smoking easily having read his book. I never thought the same about cigarettes. Once the mental battle was over, the physical was very, very easy.

I'm just reiterating what most, if not all reviewers have already said. If you REALLY want to quit smoking, then simply do that... QUIT! All praise to Allen Carr (R.I.P.) and his excellent book which I purchased some ten years ago and highly recommend. Like many others, I didn't stop at my first attempt but I didn't give up reading 'EasyWay' and have not smoked for over ten years and know I never will. Rest in Peace Allen, you most likely saved my life and many, many others besides... What a great epitaph to have!

Thanks to Allen Carr's book, I quit a 53 yr nasty, dirty, unhealthy habit! I'm enjoying the extra money, the clean smells and freedom from being a slave to nicotine. Once I was able to change my thoughts, the rest was easy. It really is an EasyWay when you look at it as a good thing and there was very little physical withdrawal to deal with. It's 90% mental.

He spent the rest of his life working in smoke-filled rooms delivering seminars to smokers who wanted to stop. While he wasn't smoking himself, his body was still constantly subjected to other people's smoke. It's testament to his belief in his (amazing) system that he was willing to do that, and so so sad that, having spent his life helping people to stop, their smoke eventually killed him.

3 years and 8 months smoke free now with the help of this wonderful man. Here are the things I learned from Mr. Carr............4 myths of smoking; 1.) "Smokers need willpower to quit." - The truth is that the reasons to smoke never existed in the first place. 2.) "Smokers choose to smoke." - The truth is that smokers fell into a trap. 3.) "Gum & patches will help you quit." - The truth is you can't cure addiction by taking the same drug a different way. - 4.) "Giving up is hard" - The truth is you aren't giving up anything. You'll actually be getting the same things all non-smokers already have, the things you thought smoking was giving you in myth #1.

It is all in the mind, yes, that is allens point. the number of books he has released is due to the fact that there are always people out there to cure, and he always found new ways to implant his method into your head. you have obviously never read one of his books to state something like that.

Mr. Carr helped me see the truth: the only reason I couldnt do it was my mind making up reasons to like getting nicotine. Once I saw that these reasons were lies, then it was easy, even fun sometimes, to walk away. I smoked for 15+ years and I quit once for 6 weeks a couple years ago after reading his book, but drinking one night brought me back. I don't drink now. This last time I read his book I quit smoking Oct 10, 2010 and I am grateful and FREE!!!

@alhaddaoui you are supposed to smoke normally whilst reading the book (whether you want to or not) otherwise you risk failure. Smoking normally through out the process (up until the end) is a major part of it, because you don't get distracted and you continue to think about what drives you to smoke.
