Since TikTok has destroyed our attention spans, Chau challenged me to teach the hardstyle kettlebell swing in under four minutes.
I think this is the most concise, knowledge-packed, no-fluff piece of kettlebell content I’ve ever created.

So glad I was sent your channel. Awesome fundamentals! Actually tried your one hand swing suggestion from another video today for S&S 20kg and that little extra tension in the loose hand you suggested made a difference! I finished my reps with a little more in the tank!!! 👊🏾🧔🏾‍♂️

Your knees are past your feet- I thought you weren’t supposed to bend your knees but use the hips

Hi Carrie, Good question! The swing is an athletic hip hinge movement, like the deadlift. There needs to be some amount of knee bend, as it is not a straight-legged hip hinge. The bend in the knees allows us to use and "load" our glutes AND our hamstrings for maximum power. This video explains why we don't do straight-legged swings. It also shows you the right amount of knee bend that we look for in the KB swing and deadlift, and it has a drill you can practice to "feel" it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nrSCe5idtK-sYok.html Hope that helps!
