This is a quick demo on how to tie a loop on your bow string. It works well for hunting applications. I hope it is informative. See artwork and more videos at www.zachevenart.com

I know this is an older video, but it was the most helpful to me out of the dozen or so that I watched today. Due to a recent home and job move, I don't have a close archery shop anymore. This video was a huge help.

Nock points are good between your D-loop even for hunting applications. Should anything happen to your D-loop that you need to replace it in the field, you’ll always have an accurate nocking point. Without it, you might install the D-loop to high or to low.

Same, mine might not look the prettiest, but it functions as I tied it to a cheap 5 lb pull kids bow for practice. The loop didn't break. Gonna take it to an expert tomorrow and see what he thinks and maybe he can give me some pointers if it needs any adjustments. Right now my loop slides a little and idk if that is normal or not even though I pulled on it hard to tighten it.

Good video... BUT you didn't finish by showing how to tighten it as to prevent the loop from slipping (which is bad, bad, bad)....
@niallwildwoode737310 ай бұрын
They're effectively self-cinching as it's a pair of two-loop prussics. No rocket science here.

The knots or opposite of one another, not sure I like that. If it's tightened proper i haven't had any rotating..great video tho, needed a refresher and this video shows everything in great detail. Thumbs up.

Would this work for a recurve bow? How would I know where to place the d loop?
@ericb63903 жыл бұрын
Usually dont use d loop for recurve, you usually just use fingers as your release,you usually just tie in nocking points, and you would use a bow square to find where to put nocking points, you can find bow square for 10 bucks on ebay, but if you really wanted to i guess you could use d loop just not recommended
@chadcowman62933 жыл бұрын
@@ericb6390 I use a compound with a trigger release. I find that with a d loop u can pull more resistance.

I have bin using a aluminum trunoc but it is heavy and makes noise i want to try this for the lighter weight but im nervous. Do they ever break or come untied and do they stay in one spot on the string or do i always have to check my nocpoint?

lol thanks, great video guy i think im going to tie mine off tho just mushrooming it makes me nervous.

Hello just one tip a d loop that is really short can cause tork on the string if any movement is applied before you shoot.

Why are half hitche knots used in stead of clinch knots which tighten easier and stay tight better than half hitches?
@JakenOscars12 жыл бұрын
@EthanDarke i believe you could but id leave question 1 to a pro ha , but no i dont think it will damage your bow sting if you dont use one , unless you are usin a relase i would recommend you using the loop, if your not then no i dont think so , i have two bows and ive never used a loop ive always just used my hands ha and nothings really happend to my strings.

what are the benefits of having a loop do you have to re just your bow
@Noone-of-your-Business8 жыл бұрын
Why leave space inside the loop for the nock to wiggle? My first impulse would be to make it fit the nock without any space to move around for a precise shot.
@drumavenger838 жыл бұрын
the answer I was given was "the d loop will pinch the nock at full draw" So if ya start with the d loop already touching both sides of the nock when its at rest, the d loop could cause the arrow to raise or lower at full draw.
@user-rv4xq4ht7m9 жыл бұрын
which type of cord can i use??
@ahunterslife93519 жыл бұрын
In between the release string my pinky can fit inbetween the nock and my releas is the too much space
