I cured my trout roe/spawn with borax, Pautzke Bait Borax O'Fire, and a little sugar.
My method on tying up roe bags. I'm using fresh rainbow trout roe that I caught yesterday. I like to use roe and beads when trout or salmon fishing. these sacs will be used for float fishing at a river. I me shore fishing using a float rod and a king pin float reel. if I was tying up spawn sacs for bottom bouncing I would put a couple little floating balls in the bags with the trout eggs. that was the bait would float up off the bottom of the river bed. roe / spawn bags are the best for fishing creeks, rivers and streams. when you're trying to catch trout or salmon that is. the cured roe will last a week or two in the fridge. if you plan on keeping your trout or salmon eggs longer then that, place the roe or skein in an air tight container or bag and put it in the freezer. in she freezer it will last over a year.
