By my point of view, this one of the best skill you can use. Loma and Tyson are two of the athletes that use and used it the best way.

This is a great defense and counter of this example of the liver shot, but it's also a perfect example of why you don't crank your shoulders to throw the liver shot, as 1) it gives your opponent too much time to react and defend against it, and 2) it simply isn't necessary. Watch the best at throwing this shot (for example, Micky Ward off the hook). They don't over-rotate the shoulders or torque the torso. Whether it's countering or off a setup punch (like the 1, 2, or 3), they lean slightly to load the front leg and get their head offline and just pop the hip to get the necessary arm whip. It takes a lot less time, is less obvious, so leaves less time to react to it. Throwing the liver shot this way makes it more difficult for your opponent to crowd you and shift before you land.

dropping the rear foot and bending at the side with a pivot to the outside as a south paw does the same thing right?

That footwork is slick. Would it also work if Danny was throwing a right hand, while slipping his head off the line, then use the switch with the feet?

If I'm already aiming my left hook to my opponent's right side,how exactly does this movement defend against it? On your student his right side is still exposed behind his right arm,if you throw tighter hooks wouldn't he still get caught with one?
