I know this posted as you are selling the GX, but what are your thoughts on the Tuff Stuff Alpha?

I really like it. It’s middle of the road. Not as expensive as the ikamper but not cheap like the knockoffs that have really cheap fabrics and hardware. You don’t realize how much things like a nice mattress and zippers are until you have crappy ones. 😂 it is a bit thicker than I would prefer but it’s pretty great for the price.

Great location! Loved the bonfire . Do you recommend 470 with kdss or regular? Given that I will not be lifting it more than 2.5 inches :). perhaps couple of pros and cons of kdss.

Only reason I got KDSS is because it comes with a sport model. The sport has dark black wood instead of the light colored wood and aluminum trim on the dash. That was more important to me. Honestly KDSS is kind of a pain when you want to do things like sliders.

Such a rad setup!! QUESTION: Can you park your GX in a garage with the tent attached or is it too tall?

Thanks man! No, unfortunately I cannot. I’m not sure that I could even fit it without the tent. :-) we may have a low garage though.

Overlanding families carry fire arms? Im new to this scene

I would recommend it if you can. Check your laws. I have my concealed carry license and carry a handgun in case of bears or shady people wandering into our camp. The beautiful thing about dispersed camping is that you’re away from civilization but that also means you’re far from the help of civilization in a tough time.

What model knockoff did you have before?? Would it suffice for a just getting started off into Overlanding family??

Depends how big you need to be. I would not recommend the ikamper knock off because they were just too many low-quality parts of it. If you can find a hardshell 2 person like a knock off of the tepui hybox or roof nest, you can get those for around $1000 and are relatively high quality. If you don’t mind a soft shell, you can get a pretty good one for 500 or so used.

@@GXOverland thanks... Yeah I wouldn't have any issues with soft shell... Only reason I'd like the hardshell better would be to avoid anyone being able to cut the soft one up if they get bored

@@GXOverland not sure if I have to or need too.... But it's always something I know would be on my mind... I imagine the hard shell tents would last longer in with the UV protection of the hardshell as well
