How We Use History Quest
Many of you know that as a family we focus on secular curriculum choices. Many of you know all too well the struggle to find a history curriculum for homeschool that does not focus on and revolve around Christian views and beliefs. We initially started our history studies with another well-known course but last year we transitioned to History Quest from ‪@pandiapress6993‬. As a busy working mom, I love the audio files. As a homeschooling more than one-grade mom, I love the pdf printables. As a parent, I love that my kids are entertained. There are so many ways to use History Quest. Some weeks we are working on history every day and some weeks we just do the minimum. I love that this curriculum can be easily adapted to adjust to the interest level of my girls.
Please share below, what history have you chosen?

I have heard good things about History Quest, and yes my channel is always available as a free resource to homeschoolers! For those who do not know, I am a History professor and put all my lectures on KZfaq as a free resource.

I totally agree about not memorizing all the names and dates! My son is minoring in history in college and STILL doesn't have to memorize all that stuff. Knowing how to research properly and analyze/synthesize information is way more important... and developing a love of history is even MORE important!

Your videos are always a wealth of information! We use History Quest and also go off script. Since we are a part of a charter, we also have to do Social Studies. So we are taking our time with the curriculum. It takes us two weeks to do each chapter and we love it! I gave my kid the option of dropping it and she was adamant about wanting her History! That's way more important than memorizing dates!

It really is. I have been shocked more than a few times to hear what my girls have retained from their lessons. I love being able to plant the seeds and watch the blooms.

💯!!! I love how flexible this curriculum is. We are in Middle Times too. And I love learning about the European Middle Ages so much and had so many ideas I’m just doing them all at once instead of broken up in between other areas. If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend Great Medieval Projects You Can Build Yourself. Tons of great info to read and project ideas. We have really enjoyed that one. Absolute Histories and Tasting History with Max Miller on KZfaq are also great resources.

Hi! I know this is an older video, hopefully you can still help. Love all your thought process in this curriculum! Would I need to purchase the Study Guide, to get all the resources with this curriculum?
@MakingEverydayMagic
@MakingEverydayMagic 2 ай бұрын
Yes. The book is just the history portion and the history hop narrative potions. The study guide will have the schedule, maps, coloring pages, recipes, recommended activities and further reading. You easily can, and we have used just the audiobook to listen and learn without any further activities. However, if you want to expand beyond just that, you'll need the study guide.

Does the Early Times typically finished within 1 year? And the same for Middle times? What do plan on doing after those two are completed?
@MakingEverydayMagic
@MakingEverydayMagic Жыл бұрын
I want to say it has 28 lessons, set up for 1 per week. I know middle times is 28 lessons. They are intended to be finished in a year.
