1:13, it seems the P40 suffers from too much of a green tint. When put into lightroom you could add a bit more magenta, but it looks off imo.

Great comparison. i'm impressed with the Mate 30 Pro though. There are some strange colors in the P40 Pro (green tint) and especially the night time pictures are actually bad compared to the Mate 30 Pro. But i guess they can - actually need to - improve that.

Great video as usual! The P40 Pro hast the same "green tint" that had the P30Pro after an update. So maybe that and the noise in the night photos could be fixed by an update. :)

I know they are devices from different segments but analyzing a camera for photos is it worth investing more in a Huawei P40 Pro or saving on a Huawei Mate 30 Pro? Congratulations on the always authentic and very impartial work.

The main lens for p40 pro will be a bit darker because both use ryyb sensors yes... But mate 30 pro has a slight edge because of it's aperture which is f1.6

We need to wait for the software update of the P40 pro. There's too much green tint on the shots. Even then, I think I'm sticking with my Mate 30 Pro.

+Redskull Could you please do a comparison between P40 pro and iPhone 11 Pro for night videos pls. The reason being that when we there is movement in the scene especially lights or moving cars there is this fringing (jello effect like the light vibrates) happening with Huawei devices (or maybe all devices!?). It is there in my Mate20 Pro but I was thinking it is because there is no OIS in the camera but I see that with Mate30 Pro also and sometimes in the P40 Pro videos too. Just interested to know if this is the case with iPhone 11 too as I dont remember this seeing in their night time video. Could you please confirm. thanks

a good camera should produce natural looking colours and everything that looks what it actually is.. those that produce vibrant saturated colours aren't preferred as fo me

Reskull please remember that the P40 pro is still running pre production software. Judging from all the tests ive seen its pretty clear that nightmode is not working properly (at least for the main lens) for many units, with normal mode actually looking much better at night. Please wait for the obligatory update that should come very soon to repeat the nightmode test if you can.

It's been one month since I used Mate 30 Pro 5G honestly great phone with great battery life and strong Performance.

The P40 Pro is definitely an improvement in every way, *but* we can see that the software isn't exactly ready like you've mentioned before. The white balance is completely off in some photos (at least to my eyes?) and noise reduction seems to be unfinished.

I think P40 pro do great job in low light because mate 30 pro produce artificial light in low light which differ by natural low light pic taken by P40 pro

thanks for taking my request. The Mate 30Pro has been in my number 1 list since it was released but i didnt buy it yet since I know they will be releasing the P40 series this year. I kinda like the colors and photos produced by the Mate30 Pro, even the videos especially the loud sound. But I think the P40 Pro when it was released they said it has an audio zoom. I dont know what that means. Lastly, it was said before that the Mate30Pro was released but is ready for Google Mobile Services should the ban get lifted, while the P40Pro is basically equipoed with the HMS. so should the ban get lifted does the P40Pro have chances of getting GMS? Anyway, it was a great review. Im getting the Mate30Pro now🤣🤣🤣 only because my favorite color is GREEN. the P40series has none so i was kinda disappointed with the color options. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 a hundred times!

It's about software both are using same camera 📸 But for coz the p40 pro new in the market so the camra software it's gonna be better little than mate 30 pro but at the end its not big deal after edit your pictures

Definitely the P40 Pro for day time photos. Hopefully a firmware update might clear the night vision. One thing I did notice that you don't have any litter on your streets !

I use my camera on my mate 30 pro in raw resolution settings I think they call it at 40 megapixel on pro setting for camera instead of the basic setting. I want to know if the p40 has this ability and how it compares.? I'm new to smart phones so it's all a bit complicated but this review doesn't seem to talk about this setting at all. raw setting from what I understand is completely different and doesn't use all the electric Inhansment crap I'm not interested in. Can anybody shed some light on this subject for me
