Not gonna lie, this is one of my FAVORITE tournaments of the year! It's very rare that I get to fish in musky fishing tournaments, and as exciting as musky fishing is, the tournament aspect just adds so much more to the experience.
Dennis and I fished from Friday night (12am) and prefished until dark that night. Got a little shut eye, woke up bright and early to hit the water just before the tournament started at 7am.

Dude when you made the first cast of the tourney and it went into that music and photo stuff and when you hit that first fish.............. BADASS!!! Editing on this was sick! Hope to see more of it on the videos. Make them very lively and really get into them!

Hey matt i normally am not as big a fan of your musky videos mainly because its not something i think i will ever do, and it is very slow but this video was pretty awesome. Not just because you bagged a fish. The editing was really cool. Gerry did a wonderful job.

I am probably in the minority, but I look forward to your commentary, positive attitude, and “just fishing” in your videos. The extra editing / transitions is not why I keep coming back. But, I can see how it could help get a bunch more subscribers. Also, not sure if you have considered a fan tournament yet. We could all wear go-pros and have some solid footage. Just a thought :)

Nice work! Glad you all got on the board. It was overall a tough tournament. Get got shot down after about 11am on the first day. When that storm front passed, it was dead. We were fortunate to bag a couple big ones early. Only moved one the second day and it was a lazy one. Hopefully see you at the check in next year!

So far this year I've landed two, lost five (three because of botched solo net jobs, most recently last Friday, would've been my first fish in over a month), botched two figure eight hooksets, and had at least a half dozen cases of fish biting but somehow not getting hooked. They are the most humbling thing I've ever pursued.

I'm over my data limit for the month already so my download speed is cut. Therefore I'm watching in 480p. Even with this reduced resolution I think the video is sharper, clearer, and the colors more vivid than usual. I don't know if it's because a different camera is being used or what. Anyhow, that's what I notice and it's great. Having a dedicated cameraman helps. The music sucks, have to be honest about that too. lol Congrats to both you and Dennis on getting fish and a 7th place finish in a muskie tourney. I was going to tease you about leaving a muskie tourney for a bass tourney but decided not to cuz I know what those jon boat tourneys mean to you and Ace.

In Okla. I fished for bass and catfish. When I moved to WV though I’ve occasionally fished for catfish but it’s Trout fishing that I fell in love with. I’ve never fished for musky.

TN Outdoorsman haha we do to brotha. The one section of this river has 4 ledges . With the water being as low as it is “lowest I’ve seen it in 5 years “ it would be wayyyy sketchy to run over them on plane . Doable yes. But better choose the right narrow path or your boots gone bahahaha

Come to Kentucky. There is a good musky bite on in swift river area. I’ve never caught one and would love to fish with ya and maybe you could bring me some good luck. I haven’t ever targeted them and know nothing really about them. You got me stoked to try my hand at it. 🙏🏻🎣👨‍👧‍👦

What is your musky setup? I have a daiwa lexa 400pwr-p that I’m using for saltwater with 40lb braid, want to try for musky, is that good enough so that I can just tie on a heavy leader?
