You can catch fish up to 5 days before they're supposed to spawn in season at 1/6 their normal odds. However, this isn't always possible due to a hidden value in the game referred to as the fish term index. This hidden value is randomly generated twice a month and can range between 0 and 5. Whatever number is generated is how many days before the next season that it's possible to catch the next season's fish. So there's only a 1/6 chance that it's even possible to find off-season fish 5 days before they're supposed to spawn.
That means I need to reroll this hidden value until I get a value of 5. But because it's hidden, the only way to verify if I got a 5 is if I actually catch a shiny fish. Then I can catch the other shiny fish for that season from there. And for each season, I have to reroll this value again and again until I catch every fish. I thought it would make for an interesting challenge to catch every fish at these crazy odds. Join me on this never before done shiny hunting challenge!
Oh and sadly, shiny fish palettes aren't actually in the game, but their rarity is so I decided it would be fun to make custom shiny palettes for these seasonal fish for this challenge. Shoutout to Cuyler for helping me mod them into the game!
