2 workouts a day, follow a diet, drink a gallon of water, read 10 pages, take a progress photo and no cheat meals.....that sounds... MISERABLE. Get your Pod Cover at www.eightsleep..., use code KELTIE for $250 off. BUT after a summer of chaos and fun I was craving routine and a challenge BUT honestly 75 hard has never really spoke to me. SO I decided to change up the challenge in a new way that seemed more productive and realistic for me. Enjoy The 4th last episode of My Wellness Diary Series

To address the comments I’m already seeing, my weights actually is the exact same in the before & after pictures of the thumbnail. No part of this challenge was for weight loss. Biggest difference is in the second I had 💩 before I took the photo. because I was sleeping better and more regular 😂 and standing up taller cause honestly was just feeling prouder by the end of the challenge(and doing my posture correcting exercises more) . Friendly reminder that progress pictures only mean so much and lighting, poses, and 💩 scheduled can change them so much haha. It was cool to look back at the photos and just see how much straighter I was standing ☺️ for that reason I recommend photos. But doesn’t mean my before was worse/better, it just is what it is lol. I like taking progress photos (whether it be workout form, skin, etc), cause you never know where your journey will go. But I know that’s not the case for everyone ❤ do what works best for you! Friendly reminder for 2024 physical progress is cool, but how you feel about yourself is 10x more important.

@@KeltieOConnor I just want to say thank you for showing both accountability and acceptance at the same time. It seems like people forget to do both at the same time. I almost cried with you when you were talking about being broken but not unfixable. We are all people who struggle with uncontrollable situations and life likes to knock us down. But you and I share an unwavering determination to achieve what we want. I’m still trying to come to terms with the fact that my way of being productive is something that my family members look at and see as me not trying hard enough. The truth is, they will never know my experience of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. I move at a slower pace than a lot of people in terms of achieving what I want, sometimes a lot slower. And I’ve definitely fought with myself a lot on if I’m actually giving everything I can. But the truth is, yes, I am. I’m finding out what works for me and how I can make my environment and my brain work for me instead of against me. This is also while finding creative outlets and working on career goals after experiencing unexpected transitions. If no one else has said it (which I bet isn’t the case because you’re awesome), I am so proud of you Keltie, so proud! And it feels weird to say it but I’m proud of me too. It’s so hard not to let doubt creep in when it’s all you’ve heard for most of your life, but determination can bring a person so far. We deserve to be so incredibly happy and proud of ourselves. Sending love ❤️ ❤

Everyone I've known IRL to successfully complete 75 hard pretty much gives up on the gym within a year and end up gaining hella weight afterwards. Not all fitness fads are good for everyone, even if done successfully.

@@brianna795975 Hard is a mental toughness challenge, not a fitness fad. You might lose weight or get stronger, but it’s a byproduct of the intended result, which is mental toughness. This KZfaqr did not start her challenge to lose weight, but to shock her out of her slump. Other byproducts of 75 hard is building trust with yourself, focusing on your self care, and learning the limits of your body. These benefits may fade overtime as well, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.

I'm an RN and did 75 hard (I guess the unrealistic one? the original) in 2020. After I did it, I realized that I could go on and challenge myself more so in 2021, even though I had never even ran a 5k, I trained hard and ran a 1/2 marathon. In 2022 I decided that I had worked on my body and my soul, so 2022 would be the year I would go for the mind & advance my degree, and so I did. But exercise took a back-seat that year and I ended up gaining weight and learned that despite all I had accomplished, I yielded only a year of giving off negative energy because I had absolutely no me time when going to school full time and working full time. Then 2023 rolled around and I vowed to go back to my running happy place and try to complete another 75 hard. By this time I was working longer shifts, not the 8 hour daily shifts like the first time I did 75 hard, but now 12-14 hour shifts in ICU. I made it 35 days. I realized that an ICU nurse with only 4 hours of sleep was not fair to my patients. A week later I injured myself going for a regular run and was told by the doctor to take 3 months off. And so here I am, starting my 2024 journey, now with incorporating weight training to strengthen my muscles, and also lots of grace to tell myself, if I don't have it all perfect yet, it does not make me less valuable. 75 hard really is about two things...mental toughness, and keeping the promises you make to yourself....which means to be true to yourself. Great job, Keltie! I love seeing others embrace this challenge, whether it is the original version or not, because it's about becoming true to yourself.

Wow I’m also a nurse (in trauma) and I can’t imagine getting that far with something like the 75 hard. Go you!!!! Seriously I’m considering changing my job because I realise I’ll never be able to commit to looking after myself as much as I feel I need to to reach a healthy work/life balance. However knowing that you managed to do 75 hard for over 30 days is really inspiring to me, and gives me some hope that I can include more regular exercise until I make the job change, so thank you!!

@@tiryaclearsong421 I read 10 articles a day for the lit review process. Kept up with a gallon of water a day, at least 2 x 45 minute writing sessions that always turned out longer because I got on a roll. And instead of following a diet and taking progress photos every day, I changed those to code 20 qualitative responses every day, and check in with my friends who were writing their dissertations every day. Having people around you who are also trying to complete their dissertations was helpful because you’d motivate each other to get back to work or take a small break. Towards the end, I was writing and sitting at the computer for nearly 18 hours. The deadlines were crazy and I cut it very close. The first round of 75hard was the study. I didn’t start writing until the second round, and I didn’t even need to go through all 75 days. It was a great push!

'Trying to be good at everything sounds so exhausting.' Preach. I felt this in my soul. I've been trying to be a good partner, sister, worker, content creator, daughter, focus on mental health, physical health, etc. for the past few months, most of which has had its fair share of numbing trauma (I won't trauma dump, but it's been hell). Burnout hit me like a freight train. I'm trying to take things slowly, knowing that I can't take on EVERYTHING anymore. The most difficult lesson? Learning that's okay. I'm not lazy. I'm doing the best that I can, and that's good enough.

A friend introduced me to "high bar, low bar" for achieving goals -- it's been so helpful! You have your ideal goal, and then when you set your routine/habit/action item for that goal, you set your ideal (the high bar), and the minimum you'll be happy with (the low bar), so that you can keep your momentum when plans or routines change, even if you can't hit that 100% high bar all the time (because really, who can?)

My thing I tried is to do yoga everyday for a month and now it's been 4 months and now I have added back in my flexibility videos afterwards after falling off multiple times because the confidence I have because I've been consistent for months on one thing has made me believe I can do it.

Yes! Thank you! I am about to start 75 hard tomorrow, I decided to swap out the original rules for ones that applied to my goals cause I’m so sick and tired of me making excuses for things that I really want to achieve. Then I wondered if I was just trying to make it easy and so missing the point . So thanks for this- I feel reassured that doing it the way that suits me, is absolutely fine. Looking forward to your next video! Let’s go 2024!! Xx

I'm on day 4 of my own version of 75 hard as well and felt like a bit of a failure before I even started since I knew the "original" 75 hard wasn't realistic for me - I have other areas of my life that deserve just as much focus and like you said, it's exhausting to be perfect in every way. This has really helped give me some perspective, it's a much healthier approach. Thank you!!!

Hi Keltie, love your content and you’re doing so great! You should be very proud of yourself!❤ One tip though: I’m not sure if you. Re aware of this or not, but not all iron is digestible. For example, the iron in spinach will not be absorbed unless you pair it with vitamin C… I suggest getting some advice from a nutritionist. Keep on going strong, you beautiful human! 😉❤

I really enjoyed your honest review and how you changed the challenge depending on what you felt needed in your own life. There is a common misconception that there has to be a weight loss component to fitness/wellness challenges and that isn't always the case. It takes time to change habits, the consistency over 75 days helps the individual have a higher likelihood of succeeding with a positive lifestyle change. I've been contemplating between the "75 Hard" and "75 Soft" challenges because they have somewhat similar rules, but 75 Soft appears to be a little less rigid. There are a few different versions that I have found online and I am thinking of combining all aspects I like from each to suit my lifestyle and current workout routine.

I am on day 10 and this honestly made me feel better about making some adjustments. I am doing two work outs a day, total 90 minutes but sometimes that’s an hour of running and 30 min strength. In graduate school so studying everyday, no days off, instead of 10 pages of non fiction book. I think I’ll have to do some spin classes inside as the challenge goes on. It’s winter and some days my work schedule doesn’t allow me to run during daylight. I think you need to adjust to your own life to make this work. The biggest part for me is the no alcohol tbh.

Like the video and I am glad you got the point of 75 Hard, which is to build confidence and mental fortitude. The only thing I wish you would have done is more research into 75 hard and spoken about Andy the creator. The 75 days is only a portion of Live Hard lifestyle. Andy Frisella created the program to help people build fortitude and mental toughness. You start out by doing 75 Hard and there are phases throughout the year that get progressively harder. Andy is one of my favorite entrepreneurs and a great advocate for the American way.

I would also say that realizing a bad day isn't failing at whatever you're trying, just get back on track the next day, makes it so much easier to get back on track. A lot of us fall off track because of one bad day, one bad experience and we feel like we've failed and just give up.... but it's jut one day. Once you realize you can get back on track and it's not failing it's apart of the process, and the more you practice on getting back on track for yourself, it becomes easier. This was a lesson that truly changed my perspective on routines and helped me stay on track more.

Greetings from WA! Keltie, thank you so much for sharing your journey of your version of the 75 Hard. I've also had the same apprehension about the 75 Hard as I don't think this kind of program serves people the way we're told to believe. I understand people wanting to use the program for growing their willpower and resilience, but I also see a lot of people using it for weight loss and as the fitness girlies know, *rest* is so crucial. My interpretation of the 75 Hard associates "rest" with weakness or a lack of willpower, which couldn't be farther from the true. But, hey! Everyone's needs are different. I love your tailored version and think is an awesome way to go about this challenge! Definitely an inspiring video for the new year. Thank you for all the amazing work you put out! Also congrats on the half!!! I have my 1st one coming up here in March. Lots of love to you, from one cloudy-grey Swedish gal to another!
