Scientist here: I'm no expert at light therapy specifically but the science behind it is sound. It's not some 'woo woo'. There are so many clinical studies done on wound healing for examples, for diabetics, you name it, it's been used for a lot of different applications, not just to reverse aging by ramping up how our cells function. You are essentially telling your cells to perform younger. BUT if you do not spend a few hundred on a good mask with at least a 40 irradiance per bulb and at least 100 bulbs, you are wasting your money. It's just not going to be as effective and your cells just may never perform the way you want. You also want to look at wave lengths and make sure it has the wavelength you want for your issue. When you get RF and microneedling it takes 6 full months for your cells to fully finish producing that new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. So give yourself 6 months of consistency and you will notice a huge difference. I use the cleopatra mask and people aask me what filler I got, what botox, etc. I'm 38 and get carded. like asked to show my ID because they do not believe me.

I'm an ophthalmologist and actually use red light (IPL = Intense Pulsed Light) in our clinic for eyelid inflammation from ocular rosacea regularly. While we don't know all the long-term effects, we believe red light is very safe for your eyes, and having some red light around your eyes may even help with dry eye and inflammation around the eyes. Great video, Keltie! I really enjoy your content.

I started light therapy about 10 or 12 years ago. Started at my derms office, and eventuality purchased two at home devices. I am 46, have DLE that causes blisters and scars. I will die on this hill that my light therapy works wonders for redness and eventually texture issues. The only thing is you HAVE to be consistent. So if you're willing to put in the time, I personally achieved amazing results. PS. Your hair looks AMAZING!!! Love ya hugs from the huskies!

Wish influencers would just be honest by using the same lighting. There's no way to know if this device actually did anything since she choice different lighting for the after.

Keltie you are so young with great skin already. You are not going to see the same results as people who have more to improve. Red lights benefits arent up for debate based on personal experience. There is a huge body of research on its benefits that way surpasses just skin benefits which there definitely is. Which is why i personally think its a little silly and wasteful to just get a mask but in our vanity obsessed culture the skin benefits seem to be all people care about. I personally went for the latgest mito red panel. Joove is far from the best and its one of the most expensive but hit the influencer market the most effectively which is why its most known. Alex Fergus channel does huge comparison videos on all the devices which is how i picked mine but i purchased mine a long time ago so there may be better ones now. Love you Keltie so im leaving this comment to try and be helpful to you and your audience so if they do decide to purchase a red light device they do so wisely. By the time you buy a mask and chest / neck strap you could get a large panel. For you Keltie the biggest benefit you are probably going to get starting red light skin wise at your age isnt going to show up immediately. It will however be clear in 10 years if consistent when you end up looking much younger than your peers who didnt do red light. I really wish you had chosen the panel though to be able to use it for sports recovery as thats where i think you would have seen and felt the most difference. The only thing with the panel though is you are forced to just sit, lay or stand there when treating different areas of your body vs roaming free with a mask. However i always multitask and use the time for meditating (which i know you love : ), deep breathing, visualization or sometimes listening to an audiobook. Anyways wanted again to post this in case it helps you or others more effectively use red light. If you want more info on my full red light panel and routine let me know.

I purchased the MitoPro 1500 and I love it but again I purchased it several years ago so I'm not as familiar as to what is out there now. Seriously check out Alex Fergus channel if you are considering purchasing a red light device. He has a newer video I think it's called the ultimate red light therapy comparison 2024. I haven't watched it because I already have my device which I choose based on his comparison video that came out the year I purchased my Mito Pro but definitely worth watching his updated comparison vid if you are considering a red light device as he breaks down all the specs and important points of each panel.

100% agree with you about Alex Ferguson channel! And with what you said about Keltie being too young to be able to see any benefits YET. I am in my mid 50’s and sometime ago purchased an entry level led face mask. It took me a while to develop the habit of using it consistently but once I did I began to see changes and improvements on my face skin. Which to be fair wasn’t too bad for my age and having never really had a skin care regime, (at long last the promised benefits of my super super oily skin of teens through to early 40’s were finally showing up 😂) I couldn’t afford a separate device for the backs of my hands which had been seriously sunburned in my late 30’s. I was told that it was equivalent to a second degree burn. Take note when going on a long walk whilst pushing a pram make sure you have plenty of sunscreen on the backs of your hands!! Back to LED I started putting the face mask on the back of my hands and I was starting to get some significant improvements, enough for a friend to notice and she did not know that I had been using a LED device. I’m devastated to say that the mask broke more precisely where the usb plugged in broke. So now I am saving for a panel for its whole body benefits not just face and hands, but given the prices I have been wondering if I should get a face mask until I can afford the panel, which is why I watched this video, but I am so torn because a) I think I need to get a panel that can be hung from a door as space is very limited which means it’s going to take longer to save for and b) seems like there is no such thing as an entry level (price point) LED mask anymore 😢 I don’t want to waste the progress I have already made. So if you have any thoughts on this I would appreciate them but otherwise all of this is a long winded way to say Yes LED devices do work! But no they are not an overnight miracle cure. And so the younger you are if you start using one your mindset should be that you are doing maintenance work, for want of a better word, that you will not see the real benefits of the mask for potentially years to come. To that point I would also say if you are young and are not showing signs of collagen loss you would probably only need to use it once or twice a week, but for us in the older age range I can say from my own experience that I didn’t manage to do five days a week consistently and I was definitely seeing an improvement. When I get to replace my device I am going to make a big effort to maintain 5 days a week. I’m not looking to reverse aging, which is impossible anyway, but any improvements and any delays in the look of aging I’ll take them!! 😂 And lastly to anyone entirely new to the LED world I cannot recommend Alex Fergus’ channel enough. He doesn’t just talk about it he using LED devices and personally tests and reviews as many as he can. I believe he also has a Facebook account that he and his team will answer any questions on but that a lot of the time his very informed followers will beat him to it. I hope this was of some help for anyone unsure about wether to take the plunge 😊

Great reaction. The lasts part says it all. It WORKS! But it takes commitement. At least three months to see big changes and then maintain it for life. As good a botox? No, but red light plus RETINOIDS are better than botox because your hole skin is going to improve, not only certain areas, and you look younger in a more natural way. With botox you can reduce wrinkles but it lasts only a few months and you have to do it again and again. Plus, your skin doesn’t get younger, it still looks thin, crepey, dull… With red light combined with retinoids your wrinkles reduce and your skin gets plumper, firmer, more elastic, even toned And glowing. I only do those two things and it was a game changer, I look 15 years younger and my skin looks fantastic.

I've been using red light therapy (face and neck) for 16 weeks. I've noticed a difference. My skin has never looked better. I'm not sure if it has made a difference in terms of wrinkles (I'm 69 years old) but the even tone and colour in my face is remarkable. Strangers will even comment on how beautiful my skin is and ask what I do. I am someone however, who takes care of my skin and always have (SPF since 1976 and sun avoidant since I was a kid) - facial cleansers, moisturizers etc. I would support red light. It takes time! Even the first 6 weeks didn't change my skin much but by the 12th week I looked in the mirror one morning and said, "WOW". I will stay with it!

It enhances my sleep as well since I’m asleep within 5 minutes on the days that I use it. The Celluma panel also has a setting for muscle aches/pains/soreness. I couldn't stop breaking out from the red light mask. After more than 30 days I was still having an increase in acne and styes around my eyes, which I have never experienced. All my research kept saying it was my skin detoxing, but it was disappointing to keep experiencing it after 30 days. I did all the recommendations with cleaning, stopping use, and so on. Overall, I don't think it works for everyone for some reason, which is sad because I found using the mask so relaxing.

hey just to say when you do side-by-side comparisons it has to be the same light hue...and it isn't really, the shadows fall differently plus you are wearing diff coloured clothes which play into how we see contrast.

I have a more budget-friendly project E mask. It has eight different colorways in it but to be honest I only use the blue and red light options. It has made such a profound difference with overall face coloring and minor wrinkles and acne management particularly on the blue light for the acne. I have seen reports that claim the blue light therapy could be a cancer risk though so I only do it sparingly. For a cheaper buy I would say that it's well worth it

This came at a perfect time! Over the past year I have been constantly thinking about getting one and particularly the Omnilux ( acne version) so was interested to hear your experience.. if you end up using it for longer, would you mind posting if you did notice anything more after a prolonged period of time? Thank you so much!❤

There’s a difference in your before and after. You’re pretty to start, but yes, plumper juicier skin after. Stay with it. I’m 64 and use red light, also Tretinoin for 740 days. The pix shown on my thumbnail is 2 months ago, no makeup. I think it’s helpful to care for your skin and body at any age.

Hi Keltie, love your content. I have been using Redlight therapy for 2 months. I have seen improvements in my skint texture, breakouts and fine lines starting to slowly fade. Red light therapy targets static wrinkles not dynamic wrinkles that are formed when we express emotions on our face.Where as Botox is a toxin and neuralmodulator that temporarily paralyses the those facial muscles for a brief period of 3-6 months. Botox doesn't in any way target static wrinkles, help with inflammation or skintexture like red light therapy does. Also Botox can cause muscle imbalances on the face due to compensation. Botox is a tempory solution where Red light therapy is a long term investment. I can't wait to see your 12 month transformation.

This seems like it would be great to do while meditating! I always forget to do it, despite how good it makes me feel, so it would be great to habit stack in that way. Birthday is coming up, this is going on the list for potential birthday money use. Also gives me more time to look into whether this might work for me

I’ve used the omnilux mask off and on, and I 100% break out every single time. I’m trying to push through it by placing white medical tape over those specific areas that always break out. Currently my nose has 2 huge cyst pimples after I’ve used the mask 4 times this week. I guess I’ll start taping up my nose beforehand, too. I refuse to give up on the mask till I’ve given it a full 3 months of trial. (I’m 3 years menopausal, so it isn’t a period thing for me.)

I have been using red light for healing. Don’t know if it’s placebo or what, feels like it’s helping my frequent shin splints. I also use it around my torso hoping to “firm” up the skin there from my pregnancy 13 years ago. 2 months in of almost daily use, don’t see any difference in terms of skin laxity, but it feels like my digestion is better - frequent bowel movements, less bloated, and I seem to burp a lot more

Red light therapy is FDA approved for pain. I wish more people would report on that. Those benefits are much more profound, and don't require long-term use to start seeing positive results. There are a growing number of red light devices in the market that are not for the face.

I have done 2 40 min sessions at an infrared sauna place and 20 minutes of the 40 has a red light therapy bar in front of sauna door. Just after 2 sessions my psoriasis spots are no longer inflammed and fading on chin. I'm not sure if this is a benefit from infrared sauna or the red light therapy part. Maybe both, but loving the results!!

I haven’t bought one for the same reasons, I have so much migraine already. The times I have tried I have gotten sick afterwards, but I can imagine that it depends on the strength of the light etc. anyways, blue light is much worse for migraines than red. (By the way, with miagraines I don’t mean headaches, but migraine that can only be treated with triptans etc.)
