In today's video I tried following David Goggins' EPIC PRE NAVY SEALS daily routine that helped him lose over 100lbs in just under 3 months! At the age of 24, David was nearly 300lbs when he decided he wanted to enlist with the Navy Seals. In order to meet the fitness requirement, he had to drop to 191lbs...
Follow along as I take you through his "average day" to successfully lose all the weight! Starting at 4:30am and ending at 10:30pm, this day was non stop and definitely tested me mentally and physically!
Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you for watching :)

I feel like it should be mentioned that Goggins was in the Air Force from 94 to 99, and left. He then passed the SEAL training on his 3rd attempt in 2001. Not saying the guy isn't fit or a great endurance athlete, but it's not like he was a couch potato before suddenly joining the SEALs; it's more like he was de-trained, rather than un-trained. I feel like these crazy workouts would cause an average person injury, especially with the 800 Cal diet.

@aggressivelyamicable5987
@aggressivelyamicable5987 3 жыл бұрын
@@MoreTrenMoreMen69 My starting point was also 250 lbs at a roughly similar 6'1". I had ballooned up from my usual 230 lbs during quarantine so I decided to drop down by reducing my calories to a very low-calorie diet (VLCD; 500 kcal per day or less) along with multivitamins and vitamin C with zinc. I kept that up for about a month and a half which dropped me down to around 226 lbs then I stabilized for a week and a half before starting the VLCD again but this time I added in some minor weight training + light bodyweight work + every other day running (3.5 km) and that continued down to 209 lbs (my lowest in nearly 7 years). Currently, I am doing a longer stabilization (eating maintenance calories at the new weight) and working on increasing my running load but I plan to restart the VLCD in a few days with the goal being 190 lbs which would be a reasonable stopping point for me as that would be around the 12-15% body fat point. In terms of your goal of weight loss, I would actually recommend not doing any substantial exercise at the beginning and just focus on the dietary aspect because that will be what actually drives the weight loss. Once you reach maybe 220-ish you can start adding in some exercise because the strain on your body will be lower and it will be motivational to see what your 'new' body is capable of. If you decide to go with the VLCD route make sure that you're getting all your vitamins and minerals and if you decide to run then you'll need additional electrolytes to compensate for the sweat (just add table salt to some water). Similarly, if you decide to do weight lifting or other muscle-building exercises on the VLCD then I recommend taking protein (otherwise you'll just be moving around your existing lean tissues rather than building more). If you stick with the diet for a few weeks then your stomach will become much smaller and you may start to experience the fasted mid-day energy boosts which are very nice. Lastly, make sure to drink lots of water because as your body breaks down its fat storage water will be an essential component and eat 0 calorie veggies like cucumbers to give your digestive system something to do.

Outstanding! When I was 21 I did something very similar to CPO Goggins. I dropped 155#s in 6 months.*300 to 145lbs..... When I started, I couldn't jog a mile and I couldn't do 10 proper pushups. I quickly worked my way up to running 10 miles to work every other morning (waking at 3:45am), hiking up a ski trail with a 120# molle pack on and doing 1000 pushups per day 2-3 times per week.... Family was afraid I would die because most days I wouldn't eat, but when you're that overweight, it doesn't really matter to you. Besides, being that overweight is killing you too. Now I'm turning 40 and after a lot of injuries, life setbacks and depression, I've let all of that hard work slip away. I'm a fatbody again. Something recently motivated me though and I said enough is enough! I'm now on day 3 of a water fast, been exercising, hiked the old ski trail again for the first time in a long time. Felt good! My body is beat to hell now, so I have to be a lot more careful than I used to be, but I'm mentally stronger than ever! Being highly motivated again is just a great feeling! Surprised I let life beat that out of me. Anyway, the reason I posted this is for anyone that wants to lose weight or otherwise better your life in a way that feels impossible. Believe in yourself - it can be done! You can do anything you put your mind to if you put in the effort! Don't get discouraged, dig away at it a little bit every day. Win the small battles while focusing on where you can be a year from now, 5 years from now, 10 years! Whatever situation you think limits you, someone else has already overcome that same thing. No excuses! The more adversity you overcome, the more you realize there's so much more potential inside of you. Mental barriers are the most difficult hurdles in life.

Pro tip for swimming when you aren't a great swimmer: get a snorkel mask with a breathing tube and you can keep your head under while just focusing on swimming instead of trying to coordinate so you can breathe. 👍 (Would also make good content seeing how funny you look in the mask)

+1. Will needs to get a kickboard (which takes your upper-body out of the equation) and learn a proper kicking technique.

Be your own inspiration. Don't look a week or a month even down the road. Don't look in the mirror after every Workout expecting to see results. You won't. Not after a week or even 3. About a month into it , if you have been disciplined the entire time, if you haven't taken time off or eaten things that you shouldn't, only then will you begin to see some small positive change. It will either give you the motivation you need to keep at it or it will be a mind fuck that quitters have before they quit. Don't do that. Changes happen more often and more significantly after this month . All the motivation you need will happen daily now by seeing results in your physical self and mental health. People will begin to notice and say things that uplift you. I've always said that getting started is the hardest part for me. After only 1 Workout I get the bug and don't want to miss one single rep. Not eating certain foods becomes easier but it's the most difficult part of it after the initial soreness wears off. I was disciplined and cut out white foods. Meaning white flour, sugar, bread etc.. nothing sweet hardly ever. After a while a reisens chocolate was my treat on Fridays or something like that. I would sweat to the point of my shirt and shorts would be soaked by the end of my Workout every single time. I would not eat anything after 6pm. I ate alot of rice and lean chicken or tuna and a few veggies and a salad with vinegar and a Lil olive oil dressing. I was extremely disciplined and the lil bit of party weight that I had put on over the years fell off and stayed off. I was ripped from head to foot. 36 years old and having a 6 pack with extra side and hip muscle showing out big time. Girls in college were asking what my plans for the evening were at the pool I visited from time to time. Just totally ripped and not these huge bulking muscles that body builders have . I would do dips at the end of every day (btw the only exercise I would not take a day off until the 2 days I would rest my body every week ) and those will make muscles poke out where you didn't know you had them. An older woman I would go out with from time to time would absolutely scream out in ecstacy when the shirt would come off. The omg and wows are motivation for sure. But the overall feeling of being in shape and not being a slave to your carnal flesh was the best feeling. I've done this on 3 or 4 separate occasions in my adult life and each and every time I would tell myself that this was going to be a lifelong thing now that I was completely into it but for reasons to stupid and pathetic to mention I've quit each time. Now I am 44 yrs old and I know that it will be a Lil harder and much more exhausting than it was to transform my body last time and that is what has been the stop sign on my journey in life and I also know that if I woildnjust commit to one day then more than likely i would get that Same focus and intensity to not want to miss a rep again. Why oh why is that 1st day so freaking allusive and difficult. It's because it's not easy. It's easy to not go. It's easy to not care. It's easy to eat all the time. But it's so self destructive and demoralizing. So I will begin again soon because the feeling of being sick and tired of being sick and tired is becoming annoying to the pointof madness. I will become the best me again. No doubt. Just. A Lil advice from someone who has experience in doing that. 1.do not do too much the 1st day or 2 or even the first week. Trust me. You'll feel the burn the next day from the smallest of weight and reps. Anything more than that will cause you to have to stop until you can actually move again. I'm dead serious. Easy at first. It will still be positive. Now you can sweat all you want if you can do this without to much weight 2. Don't look in the mirror with your shirt off during the 1st month. Nothing changes really until the end of that month and not seeing results after all the pain and suffering you are putting yourself though will be enough, for 95% of you, to say forget this shit. It ain't working. So don't evenlook for it. 3. Don't tell anyone or I guess don't tell everyone what you are now doing to look and feel better because they will be jealous and say childish but hurtful things about not seeing any changes or not into doing that because they would rather have a great mind than a great body. Why not both? Again. Jealousy. And 4. Take it one day at a time. It will eventually become 2nd nature to you and the days will start to add up to weeks and then months before you know it but at first it seems like it's taking years to see and feel results and you'll start to question it and it's worthiness. 5. Go at it like your life depends on it because you know what? It really does
