Harley Mechanic here. And yes, you´re right: I felt cringe the whole time. Even though I´m only 21. The alarm thing isn´t normal, it should recognize the key fob from around a meter away. There´s probably something wrong with the bikes antenna. They discontinued the bike because no one liked it. At our dealership we have like 3 customers who ride a Street Rod, and they have very low milage. They feel cheap, they are way too small, especially with the footpeg position you have, and as you already said, it just isn´t like other Harleys. If you really want to get into the Harley world, you should buy a Softail or maybe even a Sportster. They offer way more customizing, which is basically why you buy a Harley, and they aren´t so damn small. At least the Softails aren´t. Generally I think this bike is not liked for a reason, and even though I like both japanese sport bikes and Harleys, this one just doesn´t do it for me.

Funnily enough, when I was looking for my first bike 3 years ago I rode an Iron 883 and absolutely detested it. A couple months back I rode an older, crappier sportster and absolutely adored it. That sportster now sits in my garage, the thing grew on me like a fungus.

I walked into 3 dealers. One a honda, one a multi unit, and one a Harley. The first two couldn't care less if I bought from them. When I walked into the Harley dealer on a Saturday they had a DJ. Tons of customers walking around. Very limited supply due to sales, a huge merch section, a tattoo parlor, and a lounge. And the customer service was instant. I was sold instantly. Bought a used Harley Nightster Sportster 2012.

Through my 20s, 30s, early 40s, was like a "Harleys are cool...but ehhh" now I'm almost 50 and own 3 of them, 89 sportster, 05 road king, 18 street bob stage 2. My dealer is great, I love the history and legacy of the brand, the direction they are finally going, and oh yeah, still kept my 05 GSXR!! God bless, ride safe to all!

10:10 Seeing the Harleys juxtaposed with the Supercub always remind me that someway, somehow, I was one of the few customers who has both. I own a Supercub C125 and HD FXDR114 and regularly ride both vehicles every other day. I use the Supercub to do quick city sprints if I need to get somewhere or grab something real quick. If I want to cruise for miles on end on the highway, that was what my Harley was for. I never once thought how either bike could replace the other as to me, riding was never about the image, but the feel, and both of these bikes feel too different to usurp the other. I've seen other channels like Fortnine also use this juxtaposition of Cub and Harley as well and it only continues to remind me...what a weird outlier I am. For me, there was no selling, "The badass real man's bike" for the Harley. I just wanted a Highway Brawler with some power There was never a "Gentlemen's aesthetic" with the Supercub. I just wanted an Urban Crawler with some fun to it. I loved seeing your mind open up a little to Harley's and am grateful you came from a world outside of them. I owned a Harley as my first bike ("HD" Night Rod, big air quotes tho, since it's technically partly Porsche), but I never let it "bog me down into an elitist" who only wanted ReAL bIKEs. I just want to ride and to me, that's the joy of motorcycling. Just enjoy the ride.

I think this has been one of your best video productions yet. It gave me “fortnine” video vibes and its absolutely crazy how you’re doing this by yourself. I had no intentions of watching a video about Harley’s but here I am sticking until the end of the video haha

I wrote the H-D owner's manuals for the bikes for 10 years. They let me take bikes home to ride for free...including CVOs, cop bikes, trikes, and everything else. It was a lot of fun. But I never got to the point where I felt like dropping $25-35k to buy one myself. My most fun was on a V-Rod Muscle. That thing turned a lot of heads and had some serious acceleration, but still never got to the point of buying one. Instead I got a Buell Ulysses adventure bike, which I loved. The Buell brand wasn't perfect, but they had a lot of potential and really innovative ideas. Handling and power were great. ZTL braking was really snappy. So many other great ideas. But they shut down the operation because the CEO didn't think Buell was as profitable as their geezer gliders. With all that said, it was an amazing company to work for. Really great culture and people. It's been a while since I worked there and I haven't tried out any of their newer bikes. Hope they can bridge that gap with younger riders.

Kudos to you for buying and riding one and not just listening to the online "experts". I've owned and ridden a Suzuki c50 boulevard, gxsr, Kawasaki Vulcan 900, z900, Yamaha-Star stratoliner deluxe, Victory Cross country tour ANNND finally a Harley Davidson ultra classic. So far the Harley is by far the best quality and most fun to ride. It isn't all about speed and it cruises well. Also, as of the last few years the corporate structure and new CEO are killing it. Plus like you said, they really LEAN into their brand and I've felt welcomed at every dealer and event like I've known them for years. (sure that is effected by you locale). At any rate ..with all their options and new company structure there's tons of potential. Ride on man!

Great review. Your impressions were spot on. The street 500 and 750 were a great idea on paper but woefully lacking in practice. If you want a heavy, smooth cruising bike, buy a (real) Harley. If you want a reliable performance bike, buy a Honda. I personally ride a Harley with a sidecar. So I get all of the disadvantages of a Harley with almost none of the advantages.

I fell in love with the bikes when I was a kid because of the minimalist, exposed look and the sound. Specifically Sportsters, Dynas, and Soft tails. I also love retro British bikes too.

Regarding the alarm, on most Harleys it can be configured to silently engage/disengage. You will still have the blinkers as visual cues but it will stop this annoying beep beep.

In my younger years my dream bike was the ninja zx6r, It wasn’t till my later 20s and getting a job at a Harley Davidson dealership it all clicked. I love the older Harleys and actually am fond of the new ones, but you are right the 750 street rods were fun but lacking something all around. I think if you were to ride another Harley-Davidson you should try out the new sportster S or even the pan America adventure bike. Great review thanks for the good content

My grandfather rode Harleys, his love of them from the 2nd war. My father rode Harley’s and always had a Goldwing. I have a Deuce for my “city bike” a Yamaha Stratoliner for our cruiser/touring bike, fiancé rides a Shadow and I’m waiting for my 22 Ultra Limited to come in. Next to those are my 11 GSXR 750 race bike and a 16 Busa. Each bike has its own purpose. I get why people don’t like Harley, none of my family “fits the stereotype” of a Harley owner, especially parked next to my MKV Supra lol. But I wouldn’t give up my Harleys for anything. And I have more issues with the Yamaha and Honda then I’ve ever had with my Deuce and it’s 20 years old next year.

I did my endorsement here in the US in one of those, in the US they are not very popular because of displacement only 750cc which is considered small, but I was impressed how nimble and easy to ride it is… also looks to be very reliable

First Harley I bought was a 1956 pan head, then 1978 Sportster anniversary edition, 1981 Superglide for 20 years. 2001 FXSB that I still own and ride. Longest trip 6500 miles in 7 days. So they just keep going. Keep the shiny side up. I’ve rode almost 2 million miles in 50 years of riding. You purchased a very cute Harley.

Air cooled Harleys from the last 2 decades are pretty reliable and very low maintenance, get good gas mileage and have torque feel and sound that are second to none. It’s cool to have heavy crude parts on the bike too. It’s a different style and stuck in the past but they sell a ton for a reason, people like the soul of HD bikes. Most HD bashers haven’t ridden one and would probably enjoy them for what they are.

Congratulations on coming over to the Dark Side 😂. I recently traded in my Indian Chief Darkhorse for the 2022 Nightster. Similar to your bike in its modern styling. Many older Harley rides still prefer the older air cooled Harley Davidson bikes, but the younger generation have been attracted to the Nightster because of its sport bike appearance and riding performance. It reminds me of my Ducati 696 Monster in its performance. It only weighs 450 pounds. No, I am far from the Harley Davidson persona . You have a nice bike , ride it often and be safe.

This struck a chord. I have an AMF Sportster, which is also too small to be a Harley (one thousand metric cc's) and also wasn't built in Milwaukee, but it's also the bike Harley made for me. Not every Honda rider wants a Goldwing, when all's said and done.

CC, I applaud you for stepping out of your comfort zone with this. HD did the "live for today" thing with their customer base. They had a chance to evolve with the other brand, Buell. I'm not entirely sure why they (MoCo) didn't have the foresight to keep developing Buell. Now, as you so astutely pointed out in the video, the HD/MoCo customer base is heading for retirement homes. If they don't figure something out and QUICKLY, they're simply not going to make it.

Triumph, Royal Enfield, Moto Guzzi just to name a few are all bikes that have kept their retro look, feel and sound. Why do people hate Harley-Davidson? Because that's what Haters do, they hate. End of story. And yes you picked the wrong bike dude.

Just picked up a 2022 low rider s a month ago, been absolutely loving it, upgraded to it from a naked bike Oh and the Harley logos on the tires are there to let you know when you need new tires Also I’m glad that I only need a key fob to start my bike, no physical key to actually put in the bike to turn it on, also I’m 24 and I think the Low rider s and the street bob are also trying to appeal to a younger demographic

I've owned 11 motorcycles so far to date. I've had Hondas, Kawis, Suzukis, Yamahas. I've also ridden friends' Triumphs, Indians, and Victorys. For a long time, I was in the camp of "I'll never own an over-priced, underpowered, overweight, archaic Harley." More so, I disagreed with their questionable business practices. But, if maturity has taught me anything, is to see it for yourself before forming an opinion. Curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to try out a Street Glide, and a Road Glide. Ultimately, I was impressed with the Road Glide Special, so that became numero diez. Sure, it was about $28,000 out the door. Sure, it's a ~900lb bagger with less than 110hp. But, big things that Harley offers that you can't get much of elsewhere: * Fit and finish: I have yet to ride a bike that comes anywhere close to what Harley offers in terms of overall quality. Its closest competitor, Indian, feels chintzy, no where close to a Harley to justify the Indians' pricetag. Comparing apples to apples, the Chieftain also had worse aerodynamics than the Street Glide, even despite the adjustable windscreen; much more helmet buffeting with the Indian. * Performance: The V-Twin in the Harleys, or at least the 114ci that I have in mine, has a nice, flat torque curve anywhere in the powerband. As well, the steering/handling geometry despite its size is great. It's of course no where as "flickable" as say my CBR929RR, but it has no problems weaving around once rolling. * Dealer and aftermarket support: Without a doubt, Harley is the best in this aspect, at least in the US. A huge knock against Indian is the abysmal dealer network in comparison to Harley, despite being an American brand as well. * Sensation: As much as I hate the pandering to the buzzword of "freedom" or the "Live Laugh Love" equivalent "live to ride, ride to live" that frequents many a Harley derby covers, there's a reason Harley sells so much. They sell that sizzle, the idea of true freedom and what it means to be American, and many buy into that. It's sales 101, and they have it down pat. But, where I give this leeway, is that there's nothing else on the market that behaves like a Harley. Something primordial about that roaring V-Twin that just gets the testosterone flowing. I've ridden a Honda Shadow 1100 and a Kawi Mean Streak. Neither of these two V-Twin cruisers come close in this regard. Harley truly has something unique. I've had my Road Glide for about three years now. It's not a perfect bike. The suspension is easily the worst of all the bikes I've had, save for a hardtail. The stock handlebar arrangement is like turning a Mack truck when slow, and the transmission is definitely clunky. A "Finding Nemo" meme was made for the Road Glide; "Finding Neutral." I've put about $2,000+ into it with handlebars, suspension, exhaust, seat, and some minor accessories like highway pegs, saddlebag liners to get it comfortable. But despite these, it's a companion, not just a bike. It's seen me through thousands of miles without qualm. I wouldn't hesitate to go with another Harley. tl;dr: Get on a Harley and form your own opinion before dismissing it.

A few months ago I was seriously considering a Harley as my first bike; a Sportster 883 or 1200. My main issue was the paint scheme of the 1200 and the bars were a bit too high for my liking but the 883 had everything I'd want paint and comfort wise at least stock but I wanted that power. As of then I was just doing research and seeing what options I had, but the thing that ultimately set me running were the salespeople. I couldn't get any breathing room, and when I explained I wasn't going to buy then and there due to being in the process of buying a house they told me "You can buy a bike now and it won't affect your credit or your house purchase in any way" and then after I explained yes it would, I was told "we really need to meet the quota for this month, so please think about it" I left and never went back. After buying a house and settling in, I decided to take a look at Indian which was another cruiser I fell in love with at a young age. I happened to find a brand new Indian Scout Bobber listed and called about it. Funnily enough the story behind it was the guy who ordered it was also in the process of buying a home and when it came time to finance everything fell through. I've been riding it as my first bike for a few months now and it feels better than the sportsters by a longshot, and all though it's 1133 CC's it feels tame. I ultimately chose the Scout Bobber because of a few very small things that added up: - Ease of installing a passenger seat - Power - 6th Gear - Digital Tach - USB in the Speedometer I don't use the digital tach but it's nice to have. Everything else from a commuting standpoint is a positive that just added up and so far I've really enjoyed the bike. I probably would have paid just around the same for a Harley and I feel I would have gotten less out the door.

I always think about getting burnt by the exhaust on these 750s and other Harleys...

I had the street rod and loved it..... nimble and fun to ride short distances in the city. My street glide is still fun and has plenty of power but sometimes you want to just get up and go...... good review! Not what I expected from the title.....

Great video. The Street Rod really doesn't appeal to me, it's not what I wanted from a Harley, hence why I bought a Harley Breakout. It's the best bike I've ever owned and I've owned a Ducati and Suzuki GSXR in the past. The Breakout is a muscle Cruiser that just looks awesome on the road or parked up at a cafe. It's noise is pure Harley and really does draw a crowd when it's parked up. It's really well built, every part feels top quality and the ride is smoother than you think for such a big bike, quite agile too I might add. I also really like the modern branding Harley currently has, the merchandise is gearing itself towards my age range (40's) with more modern looking tees, hoodie and jackets and steering clear of the leather vests and chains etc. The new bikes are arriving now with the new revolution engine and you can already see that Harley are turning their attentions to Adventure bikes with the awesome Pan America and faster cruisers / cafe racers with the new Sportser S. Harley is definitely changing its customer base, but in a very slow, phased approach, whilst keeping the OG customers happy with the softail lineup. Harley Davidson really are starting to get it right.

I feel pure visceral motorcycling joy riding my street glide. I was a "harley sucks" guy for a long time. I'm glad I swallowed my pride and got one. It's so bad ass. I love how it makes me feel

As someone stated below, Eric Buell really started something great and much needed to HD. They really made a mistake ending the relationship. The Buell Blast was probably a turd but that was an HD concept. Try an 08 XB12. It combines the best of HD tradition with forward looking performance design. Still legit today IMO. Great video, let’s ride.

I got my first Harley at age 24 (883 Sporty) I am on the other side of the coin, having never owned a sport bike (though I have ridden on Ducatis, Yamis and Hondas) Just as your experience didn't mesh well in your brain for the rider feeling, riding position, noise and controls (how do sport bike riders think having each turn indicator on each hand is a bad thing? [I cannot do the turning stock)] my feelings of being cramped over a tank, barely hearing my exhaust, and lack of "lub-lub" vibration have turned me off from buying a sport bike. I am now 37 and on my third HD (might be one of your oldest subscribers) and pieces like this are why I love the motorcycle community. Being on a bike is all that matters and the choice of motorcycle can only be made by your head and your heart.

I have a 2010 Harley Davidson Nightster with aftermarket black drag pipes, I love the sound, the vibration, the smell of the oil when warmed up, the history, I also love the look of the bike.

💯 agree, just got my first cruiser couple weeks ago. Not very agile and sitting so low in traffic is a very vulnerable position. In my cb I feel like I can maneuver through cars easily but on the vstar it's feels like I'm part of traffic. Country roads and long rides are where they shine

To me - Harley is the only bike with a soul. I wouldn’t ride anything else and I’ve ridden a lot of bikes.

I agree about the alarm system it's annoying at best. I love my street rod though, the quality, the feel and the noise.

They don’t do it for me, but I get why someone would want one. Personally, it just looks like a baby V-Rod. I’ve never cared for the 500 or 750 because they look too odd for me. You should definitely try one of the bigger Harleys. My Street Bob has the 114 M8 and has plenty of power and torque and handles like something half its size with nothing more than a suspension adjustment for my weight.

I enjoyed my street 750 (not the street rod). It was super light, about the size of a Honda rebel, and would obliterate any stock big twin. I roasted a 107ci by several lengths in the quarter. I also had a 1992 sportster 1200 with ape hangers, forward controls, rigid struts, Wisco top end, and a few other bits. It was a menace and straight up hooligan bike lol.

ex Harley Service tech of 3 years, at our branch, we had 8 technicians, only 2 of them actually rode Harley's , both Dyna Wide-Glides, you're paying for a brand, an image, an idea. the engine, the performance, the ride comfort, the reliability and the innovation is non existent, and usually obtained by a better price with literally most other manufacturers, but just like people who want to spend 1,000 dollars on a brand-name wallet/handbag , most owners don't care "and just want one" Harley has spent the last 20 years selling middle aged men and troubled youth the idea that a Harley Davidson will redefine them and create a personality, usually it just ends in a personal loan, an expensive sleeveless jacket and poor motorcycling skills. Some of the classic Harleys were genuinely fantastic (for their time) the modern bikes are not, albeit slightly more reliable now that they're EFI, in my tenure at harley I probably came across 200-300 bikes that were all returned with faults / service issues before their first major service. the vast majority of parts are built overseas and outsourced, and the dealerships operate on a profit system based on servicing and clothes/accessories. (seriously, people who buy a harley for 15l-20k, usually spend in the vicinity of 2-5k on accessories and clothing alone with their purchase, which is where harley make their money (selling you a Sleeveless vestfor 200 dollars because it has the harley symbol on the pocket) Do yourself a favor, buy literally anything else, if you want a supreme cruiser i'd suggest Indian, If you want a reliable cruiser, the Honda 1100, Suzuki Boulevard, or Kawasaki Vulcan are all better bikes, usually just less chrome. Fantastic video! I never seen myself as a Harley Rider. Always liked the bikes etc, but thought I was not their target market, and never felt I would be a Harley owner. That all changed when I was looking for a bike, got VERY disillusioned with Indian due to a very crappy experience at an Indian dealer and via KZfaq stumbled across the FLSB Sport Glide. One test ride later I was hooked and knew it was the bike make just for me! It was as if Harley made this bike with me in mind. And like you, with the 750, the Sport Glide has been discontinued in North America. I have had my Zwerte Kers (Sport Glide) now for two years and love it even more than when I first brought her home. Sure I have done the typical Harley thing and spent heaps on customizing the bike to my liking, but that is part of the fun of owning a Harley. Recently my son (21 years old) bought his first bike and he chose the Iron 883. There's just something unexplainable about owning and riding a Harley (any Harley model for that matter). Now my other older son is having Hayley dreams and looking at changing out his Honda for a Harley. Enjoy the 750 while you own it. But definitely take a Road King, Sport Glide and Low Rider ST for test rides. You might just find you are a Harley guy after all. The Lowe Rider ST might be right up your alley..

I enjoyed the video and learned some because all things Harley are an enigma to me. Owning a Harley is on my motorcycle bucket list, but seems to be at the bottom, never floating to the top. Although I did ride a Vulcan 750 to a Harley club charity event, and they politely accepted my entrance fees and allowed me to ride in formation. 7:27 "...and a reminder that in America it's lefty tighty righty loosy." I grew up in America, and it's righty tighty, lefty loosy. There are exceptions of course with certain rotating applications, like one of the bicycle peddles. 11:35 Your foot pegs are almost in the cruiser location. They look to be closer to a standard sitting position, similar to sitting in a standard chair: your feet are close to the ground just barely in front of you with your knees at a 90 angle, your back is barely leaning forward and the bars are not a reach. Although the pegs on this bike appear to be a little farther from the ground and put you in a bit of a cramped standard position. Sport position includes leaning forward reaching for lowered grips and the pegs are a little farther from the ground, below your arse or slightly behind it. Cruiser position includes sitting straight up or a bit reclined with the pegs forward so your knees will be at a greater than 90 angle, the grips may or may not be a reach as you may have an array of handlebar designs from pull back buck horn to a reach for straight bars. Your bike does NOT have a cruiser sitting position. 13:00 LOL!

Great video - the only problem is that you KNOW we need a part 2 now, you've gotta get you a fullsize HD now(might as well go for the opposite end, full on big boy bagger lol) so you can have the more 'traditional' experience. It be interesting hearing the thoughts after having tried the Street 750. Glad you covered the Street series of bikes being "what people are asking for", yet NO ONE buying them. Listening to "public opinion" has led MANY a company down the wrong path - because the peanut gallery saying what "would be the best the for them to do cuz I'd TOTALLY be interested then" N-E-V-E-R actually BUY the damn products when the manufacturers do "give them what they want". GM fell for this 2 times in a row, all the keyboard car enthusiasts said that they wanted "the V8 RWD coupes & sedans that Australia has! They would sell like CRAZY in the US!!!" - they brought over the Holden Monaro as the Pontiac GTO, and NO ONE bought them. THEN they brought over the Holden Commodore sedan like 5 years later, and NO. ONE. bout them. HD listening to what a bunch of superbike riders that hate HD for product advice is quite literally one of the worst things they could do. Even though everyone with a keyboard could "totally" run HD better than HD themselves(still waiting for them to die, it's been predicted by the peanut gallery for the last probably 40 years now...)

I'm hoping you make more videos with this bike (before selling). At least the bike looks damn good! Not like that overpriced, ugly Tonka-plastic Sportster S. H-D should just focus on touring, performance baggers, ADV, and some of their traditional lineup.

I really like this video man. I thought the exact same thing as many, you wanted to buy a Harley but 'didnt actually get one.' In the end of you like any bike, just let the haters hate. I will say though, there's something entirely different about that Milwaukee built experience. End of the day, Harley needs too keep experimenting, like they did with this one. Glad you stepped into the unknown, and I'm glad you made this video.

Nice video- and honest. Too bad you did not experience a XR-1200. I went to ride one thinking I would hate it. It has upside down forks, Ohlins piggy back shocks, V&H exhaust, K&N air filter, rear sets and amazing performance (for a Harley) I had to take it home. I have had it for over 4 years now and as naked bikes go, I love it. Had a chance to get another Ducati for the stable to go along with my Ducati SS, but could not part with the Harley just to get a second Ducati- I love my Ducati most, so this as a more normal bike is great- it has fallen twice, and you can not tell, because the build quality is so exceptional.

This is a good video, I would echo what someone else posted in the comments that it nears FortNine grade material. I used to be a Harley hater, the high price, the talk of performance, the lack of innovation and technology. I bought a Buell XB12 back in 2012 cheap. I had been interested the quirky unique machine for a while. I got it cheap as they were a dying bread. I fell in love with the thing. I had been a street fighter type rider my whole life, believing that more HPs meant better bike. It was not until the Buell that I learned what enough power actually looked like. I may be getting old but honestly much over 100hp and anyone struggles to deploy it functionally in typical street riding conditions. Sure a merge onto the freeway could lend more but that is still a rare event and the rest of the time a high power bike is restricted by all other conditions. The buell was chunky, clunky, loppy, quirky, and a blast to ride. I came to enjoy the intense vibrations. The bike felt alive and raw between my legs. I eventually disliked smooth bikes, harder to tell what was going on with power delivery. In time I wanted something i could modify customize. The buell is highly restictive with the in-frame fuel tank that isolated the engine. I realized that a sportster was a great canvas, heavy, slow, simple, perfect for me to play with. The parts availability for a sportster is unmatched. you can get off road kits for them, hard tail conversions, there are 20 different tank options on the market, mid controls, forward controls, hundreds of handle bar options, exhaust, intake systems, I shall never be bored. My problem is that after 2 years on a bike i get bored and want something different. with a sportster I can just change it up and stay entertained. I realized that it was the lumpy engine that was the heart of the Buell that made it fun for me. torque loppy and shakes like the business. The sound is something special i have to admit, it sucks but if harley is charging for the sound they get too, i would pay premium for that sound. I picked up an 883 old and busted, I have been slowly chopping it up and building it, 1250cc engine kit, modifying everything I can fund about 2 years of doing this and I am still having fun, my friends criticize me because the bike is different every month. I like it because it is, i recently sanded the paint off the tins with the intention of letting it all rust over, i converted to a suicide clutch and jockey shift, I have not crashed yet and it has been a fresh new experience. I am not a Harley hater anymore. would I own a Lowrider S if I could afford one? Yes, yes i would.

I have a 2013 1200 Sportster Custom, purchased brand new. It is now 9 years old and has clocked 151,000 kilometres. I have taken it from Sydney to Adelaide and return in summer heat twice. It has commuted a lot also and is nippy in traffic. It has a Harley brand oil cooler, Screaming Eagle intake and slip on mufflers. Suspension upgrades as the stock were crap. And a Hog light as the stock lights also crap. New clutch at 148,000 kms and rocker box gaskets at 100,000 - rear cylinder small weep. Other than that it starts and rides as good as the day I got it. Love the simplicity of it and intend to keep it going. The paint is also like new other than small scratches

I bought a 2019 Street Bob which I love. I put dominator bars on, saddleman highstep seat, forward controls, s&s exhaust. I love it. I was originally in the hate Harleys camp until I rode a 2001 Softail. I was blown away by the instant torque, I bought it. Then traded it for the Street Bob. Harleys aren't for everyone but where I live if your on a cruiser 80% of the time it's a Harley.

Something nice about taking care of your bike, oil n filter change, service air filter, checkn gap plugs. check bat volts with multi-meter to see if it is getting charged.

I remember like 15 years ago taking an XR1200 for a test ride and loving it. That was another 'foreign' Harley that didn't sell and was discontinued within a couple of years. Wish I'd bought it, was pretty much the only Harley I've ever been interested in

I bought my first Bike in August. I went into 3 dealerships. The Harley-Davidson dealer close to me, the Indian Dealer and the Harley-Davidson about an hour away. The first HD dealer didnt really seem to care if I stared at bikes, but when I sat on one they finally came to help me. Thwy tried to sell me a Harley that was too big for a beginner (likely because it was a higher price). The Indian Dealer tried to sell me Royal Enfields, when I was far more interested in Indians. The HD dealer an hour away sold me a smaller bike than I wanted and explained that the other one was too big for a beginner. So I bought a Sportster XL 1200 forty-eight. I couldnt be happier. Yes I like HD, but I also like other bikes, like the Honda Shadow, and the various Indian models as well as the Triumph (thank you actors from the 50's). I will buy Harley again and possibly others, but I don't get why so many people hate Harley-Davidson.

Great job I have a friend with a street rod and he loves it and his girlfriend seems to think it’s cool. I think it it helps compete with the other metric bikes out there and there is a market out there for this.

I owned all triumph’s before now I bought a new 2021 sports glide I love the way it handles so nibbly I have the to into one exhaust system and stage 2 cams it’s a rocket I love it

I daily a 2019 Street Rod. The first and only thing I've changed on it was the foot peg position... once I did that, the bike was great. It's been perfectly reliable for the last four years, only thing I've had to replace are tires and a battery. In the future space of 2023, I'm pretty sure I've got the only one left. For what it's worth, the Canada and US market 500/750/Street Rod bikes are made in either Kansas City or York, PA depending on the year.

Would be interesting to see if they bring that the Street line back or do something similar but with the new Revolution Max tech

Not a fan of Harley's but this is one of my favorite looking ones along with the Sportster. I wanted to get one when it came out. Sad to see it wasn't as well received. I'd probably want to get different rear-sets that are more rear to make it more performance oriented.

I walked into my Harley dealership the lady gave me a coffee and a cookie, the rep gave me a fee mags, the sales guy chatted to me I sat on a few took one for a test ride and he took a Polaroid picture and put it on the wall. I purchased an iron 883 2017 and the jacket I borrowed for the picture. Joined the Owner group and go on rides and BBQ every other week.

Why does the bike have to use the key and fob to start it ? I thought all HD just had the fob and a barrel key for the fork and bag locks

I bought Harley Street 750 and like it. Added what I needed to feel comfortable. I'm retired it's great for city riding. I'm old school and like the weight plus I can off road pop wheelies spins etc. On my second set of tires

I Was thinking of getting a used Street 750 as my first bike since I'm pretty torn between the world of cruisers and sportier bikes like the SV650. I'm a shorter, heavier set man so the idea of being lower to the ground, with more maneuverability and "get out of there fast" capability is appealing to me. And since I can usually find older models for wayyy cheaper then the contemporary HD's unless I want to start looking in 05-09 sportsters.

Good video.. I own and have been riding a street rod for 3 years.. I nearly fell off my seat when I saw your video.. You nailed it, the good thing bad and the ugly. I am a cruiser guy but live in the city, poor, and in my early 30s. Harly has to except this fact quickly.. as I'm not alone. I can't fault the performance of the bike.. I loose other bikes much bigger then mine when the traffic light goes green and they are always surprised.. Can the bike look better? Absolutely.. Harley need to go back to the drawing board, if they can launch a bike with the same cost and performance and nail the look, they will ve laughing..I believe having one line of bikes as traditional looking, more like the 883 and one line focusing on the street/naked bike look then they will grab the attention of so many markets.. the street rod failed before it was lunched like you said its stuck it two worlds.. prefect analogy

i can relate with the feeling of vulnerability when riding a cruiser. i used to ride CBR 150, but then i can't use it for a week because the chain snaps so i use my dad Benelli PE 250 and boy it's so freaking low. it's scary to ride a cruiser like that and my mind always said "what happen is a cager didn't see me?" and my mind was right because i almost got ran over by a cager that just suddenly change lane without blinker when i try overtake them and it happen on my 1st day of using that PE 250 (it never happen when i ride my CBR even when i ride my scooter)

I think a forty eight will do the job for you. It’s a very light bike next to the nightrod and it’s just a crazy cool bike for younger ppl

Ngl it's cool to see more people actually try Harley's but the Street is Harley in name only lmao.

Hopefully the nightster and sportster s will do what this wasn’t able to do, but both of those are expensive
