I would actually not recommend this system, many people including my parents found that the filters can end up fusing to the system. We had to use a 10lb pipe wrench and a lot of man power to "UNLOCK" the filter(and broke it). It took 1 months with photos videos, showing the problem and Waterdrop finally took the entire unit back. After 3 months they acknowledged there was an issue with a buildup of minerals at the back side of the filters. They gave my parents a full refund and a whole new unit with a complete set of filters for 2 years. What they recommended was that we take the filters out every month to check for a build up and simply clean it off. They said its possible that the filters are going bad faster than expected and that the build up is most likely occurring at the end of the life of the filters.
@waterfilterguru

Sounds like you might need some sort of pre-treatment perhaps. If this issue happened with one system, it may very well happen with another

So let me get this straight, your bashing this company and product for doing its job…it’s not their fault your shitty municipal water is filled with shit that caused the filters to get over calcified/mineralized. At the end of the day the product was doing its job, and furthermore they went out of their way to make it right….. Yet you turn around like a little snake only to bash the company and talk ill about them. Truly a “Judas Iscariot” move… It really shows the level of character and the type of human being you are. I’m absolutely repulsed by people like you in society.

Would there be a significant difference in filtering performance between the G3P800 and G3P600? This would be for my home and the 600 gallons per day with the G3P600 would be more than plenty enough. Is it worth it to pay almost double for the G3P800? Thanks again for the results!
@waterfilterguru

As both systems use the same filters, aside from the RO membrane being larger in the P800 model, I would expect filtration performance to pretty much be the same. As you mentioned, the main difference is the lower production rate with the P600 model (waterdropus.pxf.io/mg6A5a)

I bought the G3 P800. I am getting TDS reading of about 24 ppm down from around 250 ppm. I was hoping for TDS closer to what you showed in this video, in the 4-6 ppm range. Do you think flushing the system for another ~ 30 minutes would drop my TDS levels further?
@waterfilterguru

Since reverse osmosis membranes reject a % of TDS, the TDS level in the permeate (treated water) is a function of the TDS level in the raw, untreated water
@JasonPiepmeier
@JasonPiepmeier 5 ай бұрын
@@waterfilterguru yes, understood, so that means I'm getting a roughly 90% reduction, which is consistent with Waterdrop marketing, but you are showing TDS of 4-6, so does that mean that your starting tap water was only in the 40-60 TDS range? Does this unit have TDS creep issue which is when you first run the water TDS is high but as it runs it gets lower ?
@waterfilterguru
@waterfilterguru Жыл бұрын
Yes, this is common. While the system is producing pure water, the pump provides the necessary pressure for the source water to go through the RO membrane. But after turning off the faucet which stops the pump, the internal pressure returns to normal. When Thai happens, a natural phenomenon called "osmosis" takes place in the RO filter until a dynamic balance of concentration is established on both sides of the RO membrane. As a result, the TDS of the remaining filtered water will go up gradually, the longer, the higher.

It appears that the Waterdrop G3 P800 ($1000), (70 out of 99): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e8idZr192qvJp2g.html water filtration results are less superior in comparison to Waterdrop N1 ($350) countertop (96 out of 99): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/otOHe8ZysLebm58.html Can we say that the countertop version is far better than the undersink version? Is there an undersink version that cover 90+ score based on the tests applied?
@waterfilterguru
@waterfilterguru 11 ай бұрын
No, the overall 'Tap Score' number is not a good indicator of performance. This number is calculated by an algorithm based on the testing data. These two tests were conducted with completely different source water, taken from different locations, and therefore cannot be equally compared. Additionally, this was just one test each. If we were to test again, more than likely we would get slightly different results which could cause the calculated tap score number to change. It's important to look at performance based on individual contaminant reduction, and not the overall calculated tap score number.

Yeah, I have a couple different kinds of trace minerals and electrolyte drops, which is helpful without the water ionizer. However, my ionizer, despite being one of the best out there, requires a good amount of minerals in order to produce a really low negative ORP and at least 1 ppm of dissolved molecular hydrogen. All water ionizers are dependent upon mineral content for the electrolysis to actually produce a benefit. I'm purchasing a couple different (expensive) infrared ceramic remineralization filters in hopes of getting better results. I do not recommend Waterdrop's MNR-35, although without a doubt the G3 P800 is currently the best RO system on the market.

@waterfilterguru
@waterfilterguru Жыл бұрын
Hi there, links to both pre and post lab reports are in the description. That being said, keep in mind that each and every test will be different, and the overall score is calculated by a complex algorithm that looks at many variables. It's more helpful to look at the individual contaminant reduction or order to judge performance, rather than the overall score. As for remineralization, yes, when you add minerals back into treated RO water it would most likely slightly raise the pH. Reverse osmosis tends to slightly lower the pH of the water since dissolved minerals are removed, so by adding them back in it should raise the pH slightly.

Thanks for the review! I subscribed to your channel. There is a guy who has a website called truthaboutflouride and he has a video testing the flouride before and after the waterdrop filtration process. He is claiming it doesnt remove it. How do I know or test flouride levels? Your report says it removed it. What is the "truth"? 😅

Interesting. I can't speak to how this other individual conducted their testing, but testing with a certified laboratory is the only way to go. Additionally this just helps to reiterate the fact that data from one single test is not enough to draw decisive conclusions. That said, RO is one of the best methods for fluoride reduction, so it's odd that another test would show 0 reduction.

Your website says this is not suitable for a well. Is that true and if yes why?
@waterfilterguru
@waterfilterguru 10 ай бұрын
Yes and no. It should not be used as primary treatment for well water. That said, if you already have a sufficient treatment system in place to address the water issues at hand, then you could use this (or any other POU RO) downstream for your drinking water. The reason is that many common well water issues (iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, elevated hardness, etc.) will foul and clog and RO system, and need to be treated first.

@@waterfilterguru I'm curious to know the results because it's supposed to re-mineralize the water through it's third stage external filter. Maybe what it adds to the water isn't that great, I dunno, but I'm curious as it is the system I have under my sink... Maybe if you do testing with it, as a suggestion, test it with and without this third stage.

A recent video (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h9aWodhe0sCwY3U.html) showed the reintroduction of methylene chloride and xylenes by a waterdrop filtration system. Did you measure these contaminants? Were they elevated in filtered water?
@waterfilterguru
@waterfilterguru 4 ай бұрын
Our test did test for methylene chloride (Dichloromethane) and xylenes (m,p Xylene and o Xylene). None of these were detected in the filtered water in our test. Feel free to shoot me an email to info@waterfilterguru.com and I'd be happy to share the test report with you. I've had to remove the reports from the description because other creators were using our data to create competing videos 😑

It all depends on what contaminants are in the water to begin with! This is why testing before purchasing any treatment system is so important. Maybe an RO system like this would be overkill, maybe not.
