My videos are slow-paced. I take pauses in my narration and rarely throw text on the screen. The ambient music supporting my voice is slow-paced, and that’s also true for the visuals.
I make my videos this way on purpose because I think slow is a good thing. Some might call the pace boring, but I think it’s relaxed. My videos require patience, but I’d say that’s a virtue in a world where attention spans are shrinking rapidly.

I mean of course this can be boring, it's not necessarily about the topic though it can be the way how he produces the videos. This way of teaching and the nonchalant voice can make you bored. Sometimes I do get tired but interested at the same time. Like in school, important topics but overlooked because of how less stimulant it is.

I was diagnosed with adhd as a child, when I look back it was because i was overly social, constantly questioning authority from a young age. The teachers didn’t like me from a young age they told my parents I would never be able to function in the world without medication. I was put on adderall from 9 till my early 20s. I’d say the damage the drugs did gave me what they call “clinical adhd or add” but I don’t really believe in it anymore. I just learn different and I don’t need drugs or society telling me what success is. I live with my mom and we’re starting a homestead. Many people would look at me at 26 as a loser because I’m not on my own racing to get a pretty little box in a city close to a career. Well my mom can’t do it on her own and I like being helpful. Sometimes we need to slow down.

It's interesting to me, because I feel more stressed with shorter videos. If I see a video is max 5 minutes I'm less likely to watch it. But I do what you said - I run videos in the background, but while doing things that still keep me pretty focused on the content (what I mean is, I'm not falling asleep to it or doing noisy things). But yeah. Long form is the best.

100% oversimulation affects me negatively. I tend to crash pretty hard after work because of the fact I usually have something running in the background as I work, combined with phone distractions and other distractions. I've been trying to go back to some of the things I used to enjoy as a teen (reading, drawing primarily) as a way to force myself to slow down. I've also noticed I've been favoring creators that take a slower approach to their content lately too, and longer form content. I noticed that jumping from one 10 minute youtube video to another over the course of even an hour can mentally exhaust me and that longer TV shows and movies don't do that as much. My attention span for reading is back to about where it was about a decade ago, when I was fresh out of high school. For a while, all I had the patience for was shorter novella types of works that were basically only fluff because that was all I had the mental capacity for.

Your videos aren’t boring at all. They are very insightful, and the subjects aren’t just rehashed content from other videos, though sources are cited within them. The videos you posted about language was I think the first one I saw. People don’t realize just what an achievement we’ve made as a species. For myself, words are especially important. I see much of the world through spoken word, The pace is helpful tbh. I have temporal lapse epilepsy and am hard of hearing to take in information from a video, I sometimes have to run a section back or 5 times when I’m listening. The pace and quietness of the background make it easier to turn the volume up without getting the the frick scared outta me because the material went from quiet to volume loud enough to wake the dead in the cemetery down the road I live on. Again, your work is awesome. There will always be criticism but as a creator on here, you have your own methods in a way distinct from others. That’s ok.

I love listening to your videos, and I try everyday to be more present and mindfull. My adhd however will not let me do it for longer then a few minutes before my whole body starts screaming at me to do something. I've worked on this my entire adult life. It sucks. Im not saying oh pity me, Im just saying it as it is. I tried now to watch your video without doing something else (I usually do picross in the evening to wind down and listen to your or someone elses video) and I lasted 3 minutes and 23 seconds before I physically couldnt take it anymore. I hate it. And the face that people are doing this to themselves is really sad, intentionally or not. Adhd isnt fun, its not a superpower. For a lot of us its a debilitating condition that affects everyday life to the extent that we are unable to function like and avarage adult should. Your slow pace made my skin itch in the beginning, now I love it. In that way you really helped me. Im the kind of person who speeds up audiobooks as to not lose focus. I've found however that I cant listen to these types of videos whenever. As I said, I do it in the evenings so calm down, to destress after the day is done. Otherwise the slow tempo stresses me out even more. And this is when Im on medication. Before I got meds i was just.. a complete mess. Now I can actually enjoy things again. :) Thanks for your awesome videos. Keep em coming

I love the videos you produce and heavily agree with many of the statements that you make. I was wondering where do you find your research papers and are there specific topics or categories you directly follow to be constantly updated on such types of information, for example the research paper mentioned in the video that discussed the avergae length of an atttention span. Thank you for producing content that is pleasing yet so thoughtful and educational and have a great day!

Don't worry, I was churning out my lab notes while listening to your boring video. Thanks and keep on talking!
