Everybody is busy and I am sure your pop up visit was right in the middle of 10 things going on. There is a huge difference between a follow up about if they have and questions or concerns versus them feeling they need to get a restraining order! Maybe donate 10 bundles and sit them beside their current stock so they can see which customers pick first? Don't forget the Mom n Pop bait stores while out and about, Joe!

Walked into my local convenience store the other day. They had a stack of firewood bundles outside and being curious I asked how much they were. $6.99 plus tax. 5 or 6 pieces in each bundle. Not even enough for a decent campfire. I heat my home with wood that I cut and split myself. I have cords stacked and dried. I'm willing to sacrifice it for a mere $50,000. Tax free.

Nice to see the bundler at work again. Elaine from Canada here, yah, that stretch wrap is noisy, almost need ear protection, heh heh. I can see the value in that side of your business,hope you get a few accounts. I think it’s worth one more call or drop-in to that local hardware store in a few weeks, they may need a nice friendly nudge, or they may have simply forgotten your offer. I appreciate your no pressure sales approach. I think it's more effective than the high pressure tactic. Sure with the high pressure tactic you might make a one time sale just so they can get you out the door, but the no pressure sale with a good product can lead into a working relationship where reoccurring sales are possible. I would think that the retailers you are canvassing review their revenues annually to identify where their values in each category are and make a decision on products to increase or decrease in inventory and your offer may get attentiom as a value added new vendor. Revisit them every September. Perhaps also add a service where the retailers can act as a limited partnership where they get a finder's fee from referring their customers to home delivery for pickup truck delivery in bulk?

I ran some numbers. Was thinking of offering 100% premium birch bundles to local businesses. I would have to sell a cubic foot bundle for $6, for me to make as much as I do with bulk delivery, and the retailers would have to sell for at least 9.99 to make their 40%...

I got a free 28ton splitter that just needed a motor so I been finding free cedar and other wood that’s been freshly cut down …… I have a huge pile of cedar kenneling that I’m wrapping up to sell …. Hey Joe, I just started selling bundles last year to kick off my firewood business. I took a lot of your advice to get started. Currently just 2 stands but looking to expand this year. I had 25 bundles left from last year and my wrap held tight in the wood, they still look great. Have a great day!

Joe, Great information on that Bundle Wood. Being only myself I am going to try to do that. Once I get over this Medical Hump like in 2 to 3weeks I am Seriously going to maybe do it. New York State is funny but I am going to look into it. We just had a SNOWSTORM, OF NEARLY A FOOT OF SNOW. I have someone coming over to clean it up for us, as I have about another 2weeks of of Recovery then lite duty for about 1month. In the mean time If you do not mind and no pressure on this to get ahold of some of your contacts to Start my own little business. 100% agree about starting in bundles. I sold bundles when I first got my Hardy in 2004 and had select cut our forest. Even then I realized that for the amount of work it took a one-legged guy to make a cord, I wasn't going to bother selling that cord for $150.00. Five bucks on the roadside was much more appealing! 👍

I have a pair of gloves made for motorcyclists that, on the left hand top of the index finger, has a tiny built in rubber squeegee. When riding in the rain with a full face helmet and as the water droplets build up heavily on the face shield, you simply swipe the back of your left hand across your shield and the water comes right off. I think you could easily tape or somehow affix to your right glove a small razor on the outside edge of you pinky finger. Ginsu bundler!

I think species is irrelevant. Make them out of whatever you have as long as it will burn and there are no bugs, mud etc.

Bundles are where it is. With the patio type wood burners(solo stove and other brands), there is money to be made. Most people i know own patio type burners. Ive made a lot more money catering to the numerous subdivisions near me. Im making 2.5 times more per face cord. Keep plugging away Joe. Be safe!

I can't help you with pricing. It's your call. All I can tell you, about bundles, is find out what the other stores are retailing them for. Use a retail mark up calculator on google and find out cost at 40% markup. That is a good starting point for you. Bulk, just don't sell anything over 1/4 cord and double your current price.

You need to get a kiln dryer if you are going to sell little bundles like that. Think of the clients buying 8 sticks at a time. Lite with a match is what they are looking for.

Why don't you get some ears welded on the tension nut of your bundling wrapper so it's like a big wing nut, then you wont need to keep a wrench handy. You could buy a spare nut to try and see if it works.

Do you sell your bundles at a discount to the retail stores? We plan to sell bag bundles at $5. The ace hardware down the road has a pretty pathetic bag bundle they sell for $7.49. I’m just wondering if retailers are willing to pay the $5.

Retailers work off of a 40% markup. You can find a free online retail markup calculator and just figure out what the wholesale price is for that equation. That is probably what they are paying for it

You should ALWAYS have your labels on your product. You are saving $0.04, advertising for a new customer is with the cost. If they buy multiple bundles, they might call you vs. go to the store for them. Or if they like your product they know where to get more.

Just think 🤔 128 cube foot 🦶 in cord at $7 per/ bundles = $896 .00 the high price in the 709 is $11.99 at a gas ⛽️ station = $1534.72 cord. Someone make the buck turn over firewood 🪵 for sure . 3 yrs ago buy it less them $5 per / bundle. Tell me WHY it triple in price Mr. Trudeau little batsh . 😮

Because the guy making the bundle is now selling in at that price.. cost of everything has gone insane.. but when you factor in 100k just for the delivery unit plus insurance, fuel and don't forget the MOT fines if not compliant.. selling for any less is just not feasible...

I am just stating that on the average, if its a woman in hot pants, your sales go up highly.... just a law of nature or sales gimmicks that has been used in all of time. Your product is great, people don't think farther than the day present or are so optimistic, ..... there is just no possible reason or rhyme to the stuff going on in their heads. I will not give a excuse of people too poor to afford wood. Their going to eat and stay warm.
