I try to sleep outdoors without a sleeping pad

Жыл бұрынUsually I rely on an inflatable sleeping pad when doing an overnight trip. But what if it breaks and I am not able to repair it? Today I leave it at home on purpose. This bushcraft bed is one possible solution I wanted to try out. I have some other ideas in mind which I intend to try out as well in future videos. They might work better.
Did you sleep outdoors without a sleeping pad? How did you do it?

Although it was summer at that time, I had once a good sleep on a improvised mattress made out of birch twigs on top of slatted base of thin branches. I use my sleeping pad to protect my sleeping bag from punctures. Instead you could use a groundsheet. It traps the air warmed by body heat. If there’s space enough you might be able to store some hot stones in or under your mattress.

I have something similar in mind with lots of leaves wrapped in a tarp for another project. To put the hot rocks from the fire under my "bed" was my backup plan.
