Completely agree. AD customer waiting lists are most probably full of would-be flippers who opportunistically applied for watches as grey market prices dislocated from retail prices. Now the price gap is closing again, waiting lists will shrink as these flippers decline ADs invitations to purchase a watch.

I got the call from my AD for the rose gold gmt and I turned it down. I’ve been on a waiting list for the white gold gmt either blue or meteorite dial. For this kind of $ at retail, I couldn’t “settle” for something less that I would not enjoy.

My AD hasn’t given me any love in the past 3 years. I have 4 nice Rolex and expect them to call when the market tanks. I’ll probably skip the call ☎️. Best regards

I got the call last December for that watch, which I bought and love to bits. Good for you for not just buying something you didn’t want, if more people did that, then it’s more likely it land in the hands of somebody who really wants it!

It’s a beautiful watch! Wear it in good health. With the watch market having a huge correction, less and less flippers will buy because profits just aren’t the same. This will help more enthusiast get the Rolex watch they always wanted.

I’ll do that too, Chris. Im happy with what I have and would rather save up for rainy days. Recently, I received calls from a boutique and a dealer offering “hard to get” Patek Calatrava, it gave me a chill about the market.

Market has corrected and its great. Flippers are passing the watches bcos they buy retail and even greys will pay same or peanuts more so they are not putting in own money in it. Great News !!

My wife just picked up her DJ 31 pink dial for her retirement, 9 months wait time. I got my DJ41 blue dial after 6moths. I'm on the list for the bluesy.

you can get it at about $11K. Not worth for flippers. I personally refuse to buy ANYTHING over MSRP.

First time viewer. Nice! Enjoying the financial and market perspective. People need to understand the last two-plus years were illogical for many retailers and consumers and decades-long if not generationally unprecedented. No trips! Free money! No dry cleaning, commutes and wardrobe changes! Mmmmmmoney to spend! I was offered four DJs from two different ADs in the last year. I know these are not Subs but a real world example. I think we’ll have a different retail landscape in six months. Nothing stays status quo. Thanks again!

This is a very interesting experience! If the market has hit a snag, I’m happy. It needs a rebalance. I love the explorer II in both colours but polar dial is beautiful!

My AD called me in for both the 126715CHNR and the 126619LB.... because I've been waiting over a year I bought both, but I insisted he send them to my tax free address.... I did ok.. I'm not concerned with values moving forward, just happy to get them both from an AD.

Collected my Batman on Oyster yesterday after a 3 and half year wait. In the hour I was there, four other customers purchased their brand new Rolex. Hopefully stock levels are increasing / greater chance of us collectors getting the watch you love

Good for you. I've been waiting for close to two years for either the GMT or the SS sub., when I call AD's even my AD here in town. I can never get a straight answer out of these sales ladies. They seem to be very cagey. Oh that's not my department, I haven't noticed. Or can I get your number and have someone get back with you. All I would like to know girls is. Have you received any sport watches? My next question to the AD is. Soon as the watch comes in. Do you put it under the glass case or do you call a customer that has been waiting two years. Rather than play games waiting my time stopping by every so many weeks. Consider yourself very lucky.

Hi Chris! Here in Chicago as well and I'm still on the waitlist from an AD in skokie for a Rolex Sub that I was looking to purchase for my 40th birthday..that day has already past and I haven't heard anything☹️ l'm also not a flipper and trying to add the Sub to my collection. Sorta has me loosing hope in ever buying one. Can you point me to a good AD that can help me in getting my 1st Sub? I would even get the case back engraved to prove that I am not a flipper.

Hi Jes! Getting the Rolex Sub if you have no purchase history is still very hard. With that said, a good AD is James and Sons. They had a Rolex location in Chicago but lost it. They still have locations in Orland Park and Naperville. I would try there. They are a smaller family owned AD and very fair. GL! I hope you get the Sub soon! It’s a wonderful watch. 🍻

Went for the black dial 226570 as my first choice but I think my wrist is not as big as yours. White dial makes the watch look bigger. Either way, you’ll love the Explorer II. Wrist presence without the typical Rolex design signature (black shiny bezel). The best non-Rolex Rolex

I been waiting for my AD for the black version. These 226570 on eBay auction the last two sold for around 11k. I prefer the black as the white wear larger.. man, i would of taken that black 226570 in a heart beat..

Well, this hurts. I’ve been wanting the black face EXP2 to mark a big occasion but I’m still waiting.. I’m nearly at the point of canceling due to the fear of looking at my wrist and remembering the long wait, rather than looking at my wrist and remembering the occasion I was trying to mark with its purchase..

With so much surplus air in the Rolex tyres there’s some way down to come back down to Earth. This is all Post Covid economics. We’re through that now so surplus money has run dry and now Russian tactics playing out on global markets. A double hit.

Yes 12 to 13k, also the one u want. If I am really an enthusiast I would pay that, if u don’t get one like it seems. U wear it so the price want go up anyway. If the watch not that important for u, I bought a breitling B25. Not good for resale (also not too bad), but it’s a watch I want to wear. This is a vompletly new way for breitling, and it’s an excellent in house movement, gold/ b09 steel, but that is handwind 72h. Also pretty good watch. I sold my Rolexes last year, I am not into this „sport watches“ anymore

markets go back to normal as you know. Watches are made in factories, nothing is rare here. Rolex has damaged their brand in my view by supporting the flippers and not controlling their ADs. 1.5tn car loan bubble has burst, and I expect more "the market isnt crashing" vids from the flippers on youtube as we see this bubble evaporate also.

I turned down a TT SD43 recently. Just not my cup of tea but watches are starting to be released to enthusiasts in my view. The market may be correcting which is a good time to buy list from an AD and cut out the middle man/men.

With the market adjustment, I see that the ad aren't selling to the flippers and this has made more watches available to the public..this is great to see.. I've received several calls from different ads in town on new rolexes..
