I have to disagree about the old cast. I feel they all had something to do and played their part well in terms of the story. They all were experts in their field and did a good job in terms of researching ghostly phenomenons. Also I liked the brothers back and fourth with slimer. I just thought the little girls plot and her being shafted after she was prominent and showcased as being a genius is what REALLY let this film down. I thought her story plot was cute tho, just wish she wasn’t shafted when she should be the main character.

I agree with pretty much all your takes, I looked around and all my friends who aren’t huge movie people and they liked it but me who is a huge movie person see things that should’ve been done slightly different to make the movie 10x better

I loved this movie🚫👻 I thoroughly enjoyed the return to NYC and the introduction of new characters potentially paving the way for Ghostbusters spinoffs. After a prolonged absence, it was refreshing to see the Ghostbusters franchise revitalized with new films. The incorporation of new ghosts and Winston's team added an exciting dimension to the movie, although I wished they had been given more screen time. However, one aspect that left me wanting was the lack of sufficient character development. I had anticipated a darker tone, perhaps even the demise of one of the original Ghostbusters like Ray. I had hoped for more intensity, especially in Winston's laboratory scenes. The romantic subplot involving Phoebe and the ghost felt somewhat forced to me. Additionally, the conclusion of the movie felt rushed; I had envisioned a more prolonged climax with the possibility of characters meeting their demise. Despite these critiques, I still found the film enjoyable and would certainly watch it again. The abundance of Ghostbusters Easter eggs scattered throughout added to the overall charm of the movie.

My Ghostbusters ended in 1989. This is the worst era for mainstream American movies, it's so lazy that Hollywood is still living off more creative decades especially the 80's and nostalgia is not a good enough reason to keep all those older franchises going. This is what I love about Back to the Future so far, modern day Hollywood hasn't destroyed it yet.

From what I have seen from reviews so far..Critics are blaming how the nostalgia elements weren't handled correctly and wanting more from the story or just a better story overall. I know some fans will get mad at critics over that but I don't think critics are the issue. How come the same critics who don't like this movie appear to love Cobra Kai which is a huge nostalgia fest of a series? Not just them to but fans and newbies as well? One of my fears for Frozen Empire was how the balancing between nostalgia and originality wouldn't be handled correctly. GB:Afterlife for me was predictable and depended alot on nostalgia instead of being original in design. It was easy for me to predict the whole movie and how it would end. I am just hoping that this movie doesn't bomb and they can learn from this experience and give us a better or a series at least. I feel Ghostbusters would work better as a series just like Cobra Kai did for the Karate Kid series. More time to tell a fresh story, plot and characterization between the OG characters and new. I will be seeing this movie in 4DX with fellow Ghostbusters. I am sure I will enjoy this movie because it feels like the cartoon but I know for sure there will be things I don't like. That is my thoughts on the matter.

@@anthonysandoval5512 Same. I think they need to make it a series. I also think they should get the developers of Cobra Kai to act like consulates. Cobra Kai may have its flaws but it did an amazing job handling both nostalgia and originality that everything worked. They have nothing to lose getting them involved.

They should have just left Lucky and Podcast out of it. They worked in Afterlife, but Frozen Empire should have just focused on the Spanglers. Huge plot holes. How did Phoebe and Co. NOT know about Winston’s Ghostbusters R&D lab?! Why would Winston keep it from them? Trevor just realized that Lucky moved to NYC and was working for Winston? It’s been over 2 years!
