Downright silly AND dangerous... When you see someone at the end of an on-ramp, JUST go around... In fact, get over as soon as you can register (visually/mentally) that they're either stopped or WAY too slow on the ramp... I've seen that situation countless times... AND more often than not, slowing or stopping abruptly in that sort of spot ONLY EVER gets YOUR OWN car totaled... On the highways and Interstates, the key to safety is SMOOTH... and that means slowing only about 10 mph below the posted limit if you absolutely MUST... any slower and you're practically BEGGING for disaster... SO trying to give way is a treacherous prospect... since someone behind you at speed may or may not see you slowing/stopping in time... and when you manage to give space to the negligent or incompetent merger and get hit, HE is going to drive off and leave YOU to deal with shrapnel... Nope... As efficiently as you can with all head and mirror checks, find a space and get over... Let the incompetent driver deal with his own disaster. HE invented it after all... AND if you're in a vehicle that can't handle the speed of a highway or interstate... stay the hell OFF of the highways and interstates. Same if YOU can't handle the speeds of highways or interstates. An 18-wheeler hauling in excess of 40 TONS along at 80 mph is NOT going to be able to stop, and you WILL die from that. ;o)

The honker needs a lesson on horn usage and critical thinking- if someone is pulled over the right in the merge land & not moving, change lane & pass them.

As soon as I saw how little visibility there was in the clip and how fast he was driving I was immediately noping out. I wouldn't willingly drive in those conditions, but if I was forced to, I wouldn't go over 20mph

It's fairly common for people who don't regularly drive larger vehicles to forget what they're driving and slip into automatic mode. You've probably at least once arrived at work with no memory of having driven there; in this case the driver slipped into his usual mode of driving and didn’t think twice about his height, weight, stopping speed, etc. until the cruel hand of Dame Physics reached down to lift the scales from his eyes and remind him he wasn't behind the wheel of his F-150 any longer.

Hopefully it doesn't happen to me when I drive my 1987 Mazda truck or Kawasaki Ninja to work and get in my 2020 Peterbilt. I have been driving a truck 35 years and used to train drivers. I would purposely take them down a nearby road and tell them to turn right at the third light and nothing else. There are four sets of signs saying low clearance, no trucks at that third light. No BS, not one student ever mentioned the signs. I would wait until they slowed for the turn and ask WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!?? to try and get their attention. With my constant, what did that sign say, hopefully they all got better at reading signs.

BTW, with 3 million+ miles just in a truck, I absolutely have popped back into reality while driving and wondered how did I get here. That was in my younger dumber days and before electronic logging trucks.

Also, whoever put up that sign need to learn the difference of narrow and low. 🤣

And my experience with corporate fuckwittery makes me wonder how many of those signs were in light blue text on white in tiny intricate fonts, and completely unreadable (or even recognizable _as signs_) to anyone not blessed with the visual acuity of Superman. #shoppersdrugmart #canadasafeway

It cuts both ways. I work in a convenience store so the registers are right by the door, and if we put signs on both doors and both registers that say in three inch letters "CASH ONLY" people still arrive at the register expecting to pay by card (and don't notice that they can't until after they've been rung up). BUT, if there is only one sign that faces away from the door and clearly says "THIS REGISTER IS CASH ONLY" while the only cashier stands at the other register, people come up to the register and stop and say "Oh, I have a card". It seems people only notice signs if those signs don't pertain to them.

I'm amazed you could see well enough to make that judgement. I can't see the yellow light except reflected off of surfaces that are in the field of view, and there's so much rain on the windshield that I really can't see much at all. A yellow light doesn't mean "go for it", it means "stop if you can safely do so". Given how little I can see, I can't really tell if the camera car had enough space to stop before the light, but if they did then some of the blame is theirs.
