In no way would I say Mike Bickle was a good storyteller, except in the sense that he told stories, as in lies. Mike was difficult for me to listen to, because I actually saw through it. No one is more boring than when they are lying. When I hear the term "Prophetic History" I hear fingernails on chalkboards. There is no prophetic history of IHOP! Now, I will say there is a "False Prophetic History." IHOP, or any other church, should NEVER, EVER, be founded on Prophetic anything. The church is founded on CHRIST, and the CROSS!!!

Many ministry roads lead back to Branham. The truth to be found here will be difficult for the church to swallow. Lk 8:17 - “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.” It’s time. God is cleaning house.

I've been bingeing on the Leaving the Message channel, which is centered around William Branham's scam, I mean, "ministry". To say he was problematic would be a gross understatement. It also touches on a lot of the others who have been dubbed God's Generals but most (all?) of whom were anything but.

If you watch and learn from John Collins, ( Leaving the Message ) I think you will have your eyes opened. I studied this subject years ago in the early 1970's because I led my Inter-Varsity chapter, and I needed to know how to believe in this area. I remember hearing a teacher say that bad behavior always follows bad theology. In other words what we believe directly affects our obedience. I have found this to be true. Jesus said that we would know them by their fruit. Bad roots, bad fruit. NOW, I know that we all sin, and sin greatly on many occasions. But the sinful behavior that I am seeing in the prophets and the history of the Pentecostal/Charismatic Movement is way beyond what we should expect to see in believers. Branham, and the "KC Prophets" are typical, in my research and study, of exactly this. John Collins has a seriously deep grasp of this, and he sent to me the other day a family tree type diagram showing the bad prophets that started this movement from its inception, all the way down to today. All of this brings to mind the history of the Catholic Church, her bad theology and her Inquisitions. The Catholic Church is plagued by scandal, centuries of murder and sexual abuse. When we depart from Scripture we fail, in every way. From day one in the Garden, Satan attacked God's Word. His attack has not changed. When being and feeling supernatural replaces Jesus and His Word, it is an idol. If we are a Charismatic before we are a Christian, we are an idolater. Maybe this whole thing with Bickle will be a blessing! I see so many people waking up. We are going to need to be solid in the near future. Fake Christians will not be able to stand when the real persecution starts. Blessings to you all. In 67 years, Jesus has "Held Me Fast."

I would love to see you interview John Collins with Leaving the Message. He has done so much work with uncovering the false prophecies of William Branham, and how he changed them over the years. Same kind of a story - there is a pattern here. Also, there is a direct line from Paul Cain to Mike Bickle, and he has a lot of info on that, too. Love your channel! I have come out of the hyper charismatic movement over the last few years. Have a lot of "mom guilt" because I sent my son to IHO(P for a six month internship before he went to college. He is not walking with the Lord now, he says he is an atheist. I wish I had guarded my doctrine closer, just like you mentioned in the video. How we lead our families and the discernment we do or do not exercise affects multiple generations. Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much for not becoming so frustrated that you've tossed out the concept of prophecy and dreams in general. I have many dreams that come to pass in my own life. Most of them are just for me. And most of them are just about what's going on in my life. Every once in awhile I'll have one that's for somebody else and I'll text them and say it might just be nothing, but I had this dream. Often what I dreamed about is directly relevant to what they are experiencing. But it's not really any kind of public platform, nor do I really seek after that, or want anything like that.

@JillCee Jill...About Misty and her 'trauma'. We are each responsible and accountable to God for the decisions we've made in our lives...we are also accountable to those we have failed. Misty was not abducted or forced into her hidden lifestyle. She received a salary or payments for her leadership role. A good part of her 'trauma' is that her hidden life has been publicly exposed - - by God. God's healing begins when we confess our part in the decisions we've made that have lead us away from him. "All have sinned and come short of God's glory".(Romans 3.23). And we are to confess our faults one to another, and pray one for another, that we may be healed. (James 5:16) Many are concerned about Misty and her 'trauma', however, there is no discussion about the hundreds upon hundreds of kids and the adult followers of Mike Bickle and Misty -- who have now left the Lord. How many have completely Fallen Away? due to the IHOPKC leadership's sins that are now out in the open. How many have lost their salvation? ...and we only speak of Misty's 'trauma'?

Church sexual abuse is not a crime in Missouri. There could be financial crimes, but nothing definitive has come out on that. It's just been the proof that MB has multiple ways to hide the money and shift around assets , with even a mining venture on a Pacific Island. IHOPKC may change it's name but the emotional abuse lawsuits could become a drain on the ministry finances. Again: nothing definitive was announced, as of June 3.

@@wayneboyer7648 Thank you. I guess I didn’t have expectations of indictments for sexual abuse, unless Tammy Woods and Bob Harley’s exwife, TH, decide to bring charges of the abuse when they were 14 and 15 years old. But the fact that the worldwide church is not up in arms regarding his abuse is so disturbing. And Mike and Misty are ministering at Hope City, where Mike’s sister has a so-called ministry. The Christian church needs to be hot on the heels of this nonsense. Mike needs his rearend walloped in a memorable and public sort of way. And that nasty recording by Bob Harley soliciting a woman needs to be broadcast on newsfeed. This stuff is beyond despicable.

The Bob Jones prophecy (in late May 1983) that Kansas City was entering a 3-month drought that would be broken on August 23, which would be a sign of God's promise that the spiritual drought would (at some point) be broken, and revival would come. This was also disproven by the facts. Mike originally told this story in the prophetic history that there was a complete lack of rain in KC for the months of June, July, and August, until the specific day Jones prophesied, on which date there came a massive downpour around 6 pm, as they were arriving for evening prayer meeting, and that the rain lasted for hours. [See "Prophetic History 2" taped message from Spring 1986, and "Overview of our Prophetic History" taped message from May 1989.] Ernie Gruen pointed out in his 1990 report that this claim did not line up with the weather data from that time period. June actually had above-average rainfall; July was a month of drought, as was August. On August 23, at 8 in the MORNING, there was a brief rain shower (a fraction of an inch), which was in no way considered a drought-breaker. The drought continued through September. When Mike published his book, Growing in the Prophetic, in 1995, he altered the story to more closely match the weather data. He now claimed Bob Jones prophesied 3 months of drought, with rain on August 23, 1983. He goes on to say that the heavens closed at the end of June, with little or no rain in July and the first 3 weeks of August; then, just before evening service began on August 23, a tremendous downpour came for almost an hour. The drought continued the next day, and for 5 more weeks, fulfilling the prophecy of 3 months of drought (pp. 53-56). At some point, he added a "Cover Your A--" to the narrative. In a recounting of the story Bickle posted to his uTube channel (Mike Bickle Official) on 8/11/22 (titled Session 3: The Early Days and the Solemn Assembly in May 1983), he claims that it was a downpour so heavy that people couldn't get out of their cars to come inside for the 7:00 p.m. meeting (not 6:00 pm, as he originally told). Around the 58:00 mark, he says that what they didn't know in 1983 was that there was several minutes of downpour just before the meeting, and another several minutes of downpour after the meeting, and that they had just assumed it had rained the whole 2 or 3 hours they'd been inside. He elaborated further to claim that in 1986, 3 years after the event, they were retelling the story in a meeting, and began talking amongst themselves and questioning, "Exactly how much did it rain?" and decided to check; "So we found out later it didn't rain that much and so i corrected that publicly and so i just wanted to say that that i did declare it one time because just in the enthusiasm of it because i talked to some folks i went to our leaders afterwards like some year a couple years later i go let's let's actually do some heavy fact checking find out all the dates and everything and since that time i recorrected that i just feel like it's important if you say something wrong you need to correct it." Apparently he was still not aware that the weather data documented that the smattering of rain that came on August 23 was at 8:00 a.m., not in the evening. And apparently, in claiming to have corrected the rainfall amount after checking the facts in 1986, he forgot that he's on tape in 1989, still claiming that it was 3 to 4 inches of rain; and that he wrote in his book in 1995 that it was "a tremendous downpour of rain lasting almost an hour". And he totally ignores that the 3-month drought period was changed from "late May to August 23" to "starting July 1 and getting rain on 8/23, but the drought continuing for another 5 weeks, for a total of 3 months", a change that was made AFTER he was caught in the lie by Ernie Gruen in 1990.

The Bible tells us a lot about false teachers, and a lot about those who are deceived, too. Colossians 2:18 exposes the false humility of those who deceive others, and Romans 16:17 shows us our side of the story in that "the simple" who are deceived are those who do not expect to be deceived because they naively believe others have their best interest in mind. We all have to awaken and get it together. Time is too short to live in deception. Spoken as someone who is working hard to get free from my own wrong beliefs. 😢

It’s human nature to want to follow a charismatic leader no matter how absurd or ridiculous they seem. Think of some extreme examples like Hitler, Jim Jones, Joseph Smith. But there’s also many that aren’t as extreme that are just as dangerous because they seem so normal. There’s only 1 person we could fully trust to lead us and that was Jesus. Look to the Bible and the historical views of interpretations. The Bible is so important for so many reasons. It’s why false prophets abuse it so much because it carries so much authority.

Blaise, in largest part, this is an excellent, balanced presentation. One exception: Having been active at KCF/MCF during the 80's, I came to know Bob Jones to be a true man of God who was used mightily in my life and in others' lives. It deeply grieves me to hear the consensus narrative today that continues to group him with Mike Bickle and Paul Cain. Despite Bob's documented moral failure in the 90's, the Bob I knew deserves a better and more accurate remembrance than that. I think most who knew him back then would agree with my assessment.

The fact that Scripture is clear that sexual and spiritual manipulation, control AT THE SAME TIME “prophetic” ministry was happening is an abomination and deception and this man’s testimony is and should be thrown out in disgrace. You may disagree from your perspective, but I believe you have been deceived- and refuse to see the truth. God bless and may the Lord be gracious to open blind eyes. The Lord is faithful and good. On time stamp 15:45 regarding Mike’s teachings. Mike distorted the scriptures. A dead clock is right twice in a 24/ hour period. So, yes, sure, Mike could have said some things right. But taught false doctrine. The whole movement was false. God allows it to test the heart of His people. “IF A prophet arises among you, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder he foretells to you comes to pass, and if he says, Let us go after other gods-gods you have not known-and let us serve them, You shall not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being. You shall walk after the Lord your God and [reverently] fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and cling to Him. But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has talked rebellion and turning away from the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage; that man has tried to draw you aside from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So shall you put the evil away from your midst. If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own life entices you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods-gods you have not known, you nor your fathers, Of the gods of the peoples who are round about you, near you or far away from you, from one end of the earth to the other- You shall not give consent to him or listen to him; nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him. But you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ Moses had cautioned against the peril that might arise from the Canaanites. Here he cautions against the rise of idolatry among themselves. It is needful for us to be well acquainted with the truths and precepts of the Bible; for we may expect to be proved by temptations of evil under the appearance of good, of error in the guise of truth; nor can any thing rightly oppose such temptations, but the plain, express testimony of God's word to the contrary. And it would be a proof of sincere affection for God, that, notwithstanding specious pretences, they should not be wrought upon the forsake God, and follow other gods to serve them. God allows testing, trying of the heart to see if we look to ourselves/others as gods or HIM, as the Author of His commandments!

I find it very difficult in these kind of cases like IHOP... John in his epistles gives a quite simple but clear manner of discernment of the spirits: "every spirit who denies Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not from God". On the other hand, whoever confesses Christ in the flesh is from God. There are teachings and sects which clearly fail this test. The different questionable charismatic movements or personalities are more subtle to discern and they are not so clearly off of the gospel. So where is the basic wrong teachings? The question is, are they totally wrong and not ture Christians at all or "just" Christians who left sound doctrine and/or failed to walk in good character and repentance. I tend to see it as the second case, mostly. Because where is someone like Mike Bickle denying the Gospel? Jesus as God's son in the flesh? I don't see where. But emphasis might have been put on the wrong things, the simple Gospel preached and lived out to little...

@@maxemrich8778 I can understand that. But if we look at the letter to the Galatians, the Judaizers believed in Christ but added works of the law. We can have some things right but if there is the slightest deviation to the TRUTH OF CHRIST AND THE CENTRALITY of Christ, then one is in error. These hyper charismatics seem to focus on one more than the other, therefore leaving Christ as not Central. Which ultimately is error. Because it causes many others to fall away from the faith and therefore, lead them to apostasy. I hope I made sense and I do understand what you’re saying, and am I saying I am 100% right? No. No one has perfect theology. The issue is that, Christ is not the center of the teaching. And if He isn’t, then we are already in error. Israel is not the Center, Christ is. Prophecy is not the center Christ is the center. Gifts are not the center. Chris is the center. Period. I mean no disrespect and I say this with every ounce of grace that I have which is not much but I say this with kindness and love - I do not seek to argue or debate. I’m simply expressing what I know from my understanding of scripture, which I know is not perfect. Much love!

Derek Prince made his own mistakes over the years (of which he later repented) but he was 100% on the mark regarding the deception of KCF/KCP... they left the God of the Bible behind and began worshiping themselves.

I saw the letter firsthand years ago, but people recently dug it up in the wake of the scandal - just hit up your favorite search engine with "Derek Prince" and "Kansas City Fellowship." You might also find commentary here on KZfaq. If you know anything about Derek Prince's ministry, his summary statements will be meaningful: "much of the material (of KCF) is permeated by what I consider to be occult influence" and is "absurd and blasphemous."

I will always believe that the gifts of the Spirit are for today as I have yet to encounter a convincing argument for cessationism. But all this stuff with ihop, Benny hinn, and now discovering so much about William Branham and many other early Pentecostal leaders from the KZfaq channel Leaving the Message has solidified my decision to pay no attention to people spouting grandiose visions and prophecies and visits with Jesus and angels and the like. It's time to realize that charismatic Christianity is littered with scammers and tellers of tall tales who have no conscience and are willing to take advantage of charismatics' unhealthy thirst for signs and wonders, which almost invariably leads to gullibility and lack of good judgment. Our host put it in a really insightful way - it's a love of drama.

We've been to IHOPseveral times over the last 9 yrs. In fact we almost moved there. There was one strange warning that I had when we were attending a conference in K.C. It was before Mike had 24 hr prayer. But before the event started, Mike was on stange as people were getting ready to start. Misty, who I believe, was a teenager then, came out on stage to, seemingly, ask Mike something. He answered, and as she turned around to leave, Mike patted her on the shoulder and had a gross grin on his face. I thought, oh God please, no. That's sick, oh it can't be. I looked around , no one else seen anything wrong. I thought I was terrible for thinking that that pat on the back was inappropriate. It turns out that something was wrong, and I do believe that Misty was, and has been for a long time, a victim. One other thing, please be careful how much you go back into these 'minister's and report them, and their issues past, or present issues. The Lord has used some of these minister's to bring healing, salvation, peace, interesting in reading the word, etc. I myself have been healed, delivered, etc. In some of these different meetings Its Holy Spirit that shows up when we are worshipping Him, singing His Praises. Be careful that you don't cause people to begin to think that their healings are now questionable. I had something that I was going to die in 3, to 5 yrs. I started to receive magazines from Kenneth Copeland about healing and faith.,we devoured those truths. Tumor started to shrink, then I was in a morning star conference and Bob Jones prayed for me. I was totally healed. I was given 3 to 5 yrs to live in 91' on the 3rd year I had my son, on the 5th I had my daughter. Be careful how much you dig up peoples pasts, when they may have been in wrong thinking at different times. There is no question that some of these guys were in the wrong sometime, and some changed the way that they thought. Be careful, that you don't cause some to fall because of all the faults, etc..that you are bring up.

I am firmly convicted that the cannon of revelation, in this new covenant age, is closed, and has been for almost 2,000 years. The 20th/21st century Church does not suddenly need a new cannon of revelation to add to what's already been revealed. If the NT gift of prophecy exists today, its purpose is not to add to the cannon of revelation. Can we all agree on that? The totality of IHOP's "prophetic history", the prophecies of the Kansas City Prophets, and entire "prophetic" books (The Final Quest by Rick Joyner as one example), IMO, steps waaaay over the line into adding to the cannon of revelation.
@maxemrich8778
@maxemrich8778 2 ай бұрын
I wouldn't see it like that. Otherwise I would have despised it long ago. I think we would all agree on that that the "cannon" is closed. The Fundament is laid. However, things like the prophecies Mike Bickle claims happened, if they were true, in my opinion they would not be an addition to scripture and it's revelation, but God speaking and giving guidance to a certain group of people and place as to what he wants to do with them in this time and hour. It's like if he wants to send me as a missionary to China and speaks that to me in different ways, personally and confirming it through words and prophecies of other people - so I now quite certainly that God has spoken to me and I would go to China knowing that I am obeying the will of God for me. That's a great thing I would say. The problem is that first, MB over-emphasized it and seemed to build the Ministry more on that as on Jesus Himself, and well, apparently it was not even true, so of course, if the whole.thing is made up and false and manipulative... then what.

Blaze your doing well at explaining the error so many have fallen in to when placing stock in leaders we have not fully prayerfully researched. Directing people toward Christ and family is excellent encouragement. Going back to reaffirming the basics is getting back to firm foundation with out all the boulders to trip over. I firmly believe God is asking people to disconnect from false ministries and return to the simplicity of Life and the biblical leading of family and healthy involvement in community.

I have a similar experience! Didn't really now much of all this prophecy stuff except that I heard Mike tell once that he heard God's audible voice telling him to start a 24/7 prayer and worship ministry. I thought, wow, that's cool, but it didn't change a lot for me, I already knew IHOP before that and liked the idea of having a place and a ministry where we would just look to Jesus and worship him. And it helped me get into prayer personally, just having the stream on. I always thought it was a pure, Jesus-fokused thing. So weird what is coming out now... there are many false ministers out there, many of which are more obvious to see how they're not pure. IHOP seemed to be so much about Jesus and not about men... crazy how Mike was able to build this look, but be so different behind it all...

Even if Mike's stewardship of the prophetic history was twisted, the underlying biblical narrative is true. Every nation will call Jesus Lord, the spirit will be poured out on all flesh, the kingdom will reap in a big harvest, the church will make herself ready for the wedding supper of the lamb, the followers of Jesus will do greater works than these.

The deep underlying issue is: were the scriptures preached out of pride or humility? The word preached still stands unmovable however you need to check the root of why you are learning something…is it out of a humble heart or an arrogant heart that wants the glory for himself? Even more if you are teaching scripture… we need to humble ourselves before God for Him to lift us up. Mike Bickle lifted himself by himself for himself and God opposed him. May repentance for all pride come forth before God in the name of Jesus in each one of us. We build our house on the sand… when we don’t do Matthew 12:29 before we do everything and anything for God… we might be hearing from Jesus: Depart from me doers of evil.

Not sure where to ask this, but I remember Bickles teaching on the Song of Solomon. No one else at the time were focusing on that scripture. I listened to to the teaching on it and now had to go back and repent for feeding my flesh rather than my Spirit. The music that went along with that teaching was also very provocative and I had to repent for singing songs of “worship” that were carnal and feeding human egos and flesh- causing lust. I think a lot of what was coming out of there fed lust and the flesh in other people. What do you think?

I haven't listened to his teachings on the song of Solomon. But this book of the Bible is kind of strange anyway. But it's in the Bible, so for something God wants it to be there and tell us something. If no one is teaching on it - we'll it leaves room for false teachings on it to happened. That said - I guess with all that has come out, all the carnal things going on there, it would make sense if lot of content coming out is influenced by that as well and in that way doing what you said - mixed with true spiritual stuff probably.

Great that you touched on this question of what is a false teacher/prophet. And its a great verse in reference to that, the Timothy one. However it's still not quite clear to me what to make out of it. Ok, its both, life and doctrine. Does that mean, that if one is off, the other is automatically too? How would it? certainly it should be a sign to closey examine the other part, too, and be even more sceptical. But, as to MB and IHOP (and same questions could be about others too of course): Could it still be that God has been speaking or these people heard/saw something from him that is actually true, and they just messed it up? Could it be kind of a mixture? Should we disregard ALL of their teachings and prohecies altogether because of their failed lives? Actually similar question we need to ask, it seems, about parts of or even maybe the whole "charismatic movement" (depends maybe on how thats defined): with so many of the big influencing figuers being questionable, like W. Branham, and so much of charismatic Christianity being influenced by them - how to sort that out? You could even end up with the question whether it's all fake and wrong from the core - and you wouöd end up exactly with those extrem anti-charismatic people who will dispise prophecy and all the gifts altogether.

When he refences daniel or Rev He was scaterd and breaf, i could not make a connection as to how he was implying that for todays living. So for that i dont get why people thought he was so great outside his understanding that he is preparing the church for the return of Christ after they go through the tribulation. I never had any drawing to ihopkc. All know as a kid in the 80s a bunch of people stoped going to their church to go to KC Fellowship. My understanding was thats how he grew his ministry taking people out of other churches. I am not a fan of Mike Bickle, nor have I ever been. But at the same time, we have a Biblical standard regarding what to believe. Here is what Jesus said about some religious hypocrites, and I will go with this as my standard. I wish there would be more use of scripture in your otherwise very helpful broadcasts. Matthew 24:3-4 "So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. For they do not practice what they preach." And in Acts 17:11 it says, "Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." We are all called to test EVERYTHING we hear, against scripture, period. If our life and character is great, as it should be, that is not enough. We also need to "rightly divide the word of truth". "Let there not be many teachers among you, for unto them is the greater condemnation. " All of us need to watch our lives and doctrine, as you said.

Keep preaching holiness. No one preaches NO SINNING as born again souls. Even when the scripture clearly tell us the whole purpose of Christ's coming and resurrection is to free us from ongoing sining be the active life of the HOLY SPIRIT in our penitent hearts: 1John 5:18 We know that whosoever is borne of God sins not! JOHN 8:11 ...go and sin no more Roman's 6:1-2 What should we continue in sin that grace may abound? GOD FORBID! How shall we who are dead to sin live any longer there in. Now cross reference these verses to see how many time the New Testament talks about being free from sin. This is a lost or ever rejected truth that the modern church knows nothing about. And this is why sooooo much sin is being done by those who call themselves after His name...they have never departed from iniquity as 2tim 2:19 says.

You mentioned the few who continue to extoll Mike Bickle's teachings, i.e. on intimacy with Christ. Blaise, I think you used the word "mixture." Exactly! It's like there's an unholy soul tie these people have with MB through these teachings. I'd throw every one of them away, shredding them first. At best, clinging to these teachings is unhealthy. But at worst, with all that we now know, it could be....idolatry. If you can't let go, you probably have your answer. 1 Kings 11 says Solomon "clung to his idols in love." God is dealing with this this year especially, I believe, in regards to leaders who have been idolized by man above Him for far too long. ** Edited to say that denial is hard to give up, and coming out of this can be a process, I'm sure. I hope people will disconnect from anything connected to the evil of Mike Bickle asap. He should never be allowed in any sphere of ministry ever again, period. God has high standards for leadership!! The church needs to get its backbone back and stop hiding behind "love" that is not love at all. Let's love God, fear God and care and protect His precious sheep more than protecting and idolizing these wolves in sheep's clothing!!
