To be honest this is one of the most popular draft classes we have seen in a long time. And there are a lot of players that people are excited about that deserve attention. I’m here for the eyeballs that CC is putting on others. But I much rather would have watched the Sky Game today to see how Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso are playing as team mates and to just see Napheesa Collier play. A lot of people didn’t even know that Preseason started today and that’s also a problem.

The WNBA needs to do better. There’s no way that they shouldn’t be broadcasting more preseason games given the level of interest in this new class of players that just entered the league.

Also I’m an avid college watcher but this is my first foray into the W and I’m getting too hooked because now I’m following all these players and have to watch ALL the games.

I watched the Fever v. Wings game on the WNBA app for free. I wish that I could have watched the Sky game as well. I heard that Angel had a good game.

Angel Reese has more followers only on social media. Also, all these salty WNBA "greats" and coaches, if they are honest, should show great character and thank Caitlin for increasing their audience and revenue singlehandedly, which they failed to do in their entire careers! If Caitlin took a percentage from all the jersey and ticket sales and new sponsorship deals in and around WNBA, she could easily be worth more than her Nike deal. As it is, Fever acquired her for a pittance and they already made a profit selling her jerseys and in ticket sales.

I watched Indiana vs Dallas sold out show. I saw Sky vs Lynx thanks to a guy who stream it. He did a complete 360* of the stadium seats and It didn't even look like a 1/4 of the stadium had fans in attendance.

Haven't been interested in the W since the Tina Thompson days, but Aaliyah Boston and the 2022-2023 Gamecocks roster brought me back to the game as a potential fan. I am curious about the development of this recent class in particular Caitlyn Clark with Boston, Kamila Cardoso with Angel Reese, and Allylisa Pele with Diamond Miller.

51:59 kind of makes me think Staley was right when she said that there is so much dissension in the wnba game that’s why it never grows. For a coach to do that, it’s messy and unprofessional. She isn’t wrong in what she said, but I don’t think that ranting on twitter is the right way to go about it. To me the goal should be to speak up and get the games on and show the numbers, but for a coach to call out a player on twitter it is going to stir up negativity and it makes me so sad.

Let’s face it- the wnba wasn’t ready. They didn’t even have the score shown the first 5-10min of the broadcast! The announcing was weak, the halftime “show” felt more like an amateur school production, etc etc. Also, not streaming the Chicago game was also a miss. I hope they get their act together quickly- they have Millions of new eyeballs to start this season- but if they make this look like amateur hour- they won’t stay.

As a first time subscriber to League pass (to watch the fever), I thought the whole point was that I could watch all the games including pre-season. so I should have been able to see the Chicago game had I wanted. to. I have been underwhelmed by wnba marketing so far. I wonder how much of the stuff done for the fever is a result of pressure from Excel Management holding peoples hands. For the game I hoping to see more assists from Caitlin., the 3 will come and go to some extent. I'm hoping its a chemistry issue. Caitlin will have improve on defense over the first half of the season.

Sky vs Minnestoa was not available to watch because there was no production crew doing it. The group that has the rights to show it was not interested in doing a preseason game--and instead ran a baseball game at that time slot, which took the production values. WNBA/ NBA/ other sports do not produce their own games, and instead have other companies stream/ produce their games (adding their commercials and whatnot to sell products and make a revenue) so that's why they couldn't show it. It is "bad" business for WNBA to start recording their products themselves and waste their money without being paid adequately for their product--ie making an actual profit for the games. Nobody signed a contract for that game, and it would cost them probably 100000+ just to produce the single game online, and not make any actual money for it. They are NOT able to do it. WNBA released a statement, and it is a great reason. You can't randomly upload a video of a game and want to profit from it at the WNBA's expense without them even earning anything from it. No company wanted to produce and sponsor that game, so it's not on WNBA.

Sheryl Swoopes was a terrible color commentator. She obviously has it out still for Caitlin Clark and said more stuff that was just ill informed, like she said the WNBA game was not the Big Ten and Caitlin would have to learn to pick up her pace.
