3 жыл бұрынIneos Automotive reveals the Grenadier, its forthcoming, no-nonsense 4x4 vehicle for the world, another step on the road towards start of production.
The phase of dynamic testing for the Grenadier is completed, following a punishing examination of its off-road capabilities on one of the most formidable 4X4 testing grounds in the world.
Ineos Automotive has entered into a powertrain technology partnership with BMW, which will result in the car maker supplying engines for its forthcoming 4x4, Projekt Grenadier.
The partnership will see BMW’s TwinPower Turbo petrol and diesel engines, famed for their world-class blend of durability, performance and efficiency, feature under the bonnet of INEOS Automotive’s off-roader.
The interior of the Ineos Grenadier is designed on purpose, to deliver the space, practicality and versatility owners need from a hard-working 4X4. Starting from a clean sheet, the design also cleverly incorporates the modern technology and comfort expected of a vehicle for the 2020s and beyond.
Reservations will open in October 2021 and deliveries will start from July 2022.

Land Rover is NOT own by BMW. That’s the reason!! Indian Tata Motors will never put quality on their mind!! Their technique is Selling crap for Gold!! But actually INEOS has much more of unique personality. I strongly believe there is no competitor for this Masterpiece. Only from government forces including army, fire department, rangers, police, safari ext ext will brake sale records!!

They only want the luxury and lifestyle market; Defender designed by a guy wearing a skinny blue suit said enough about its true nature, that and all the pointless “design cues”. Had 2, one returned under warranty, second sold as still had faults.

Beautiful!!! I had a Defender and loved every minute I spent behind its wheel. However, it was a maintenance nightmare, as all Land Rover owners know. I was lucky that I lived nearby Kenya and had to travel regularly there for work purposes, so I would buy the spare parts with relative ease. About this one, it is a pity that they decided to go for a BMW engine, that will make it in-viable in most of Africa countries, as spare parts for German vehicles are nearly impossible to find. I wish they had gone for a Toyota engine...

They are stuck with engines from BMW which dont last long in my experience , maybe an 8 year warranty? No Chance.

Main issue these days are to be complaiant with emissions regulations, which are becoming every year more drastic. So simple mechnical solutions have more and more problems to give the necessary efficiency that would pass these norms.

Please share your negative experience of BMW products to support the comment. Facts only. The advantage of having a component which is straight out of a big brand is the production cost which is lower than producing your own bits your self. At the end, it will make the difference on the total we will have to pay to get a Grenadier... or not be able to pay as it would reach the price of a New-Defender. So, I have no problem as long as things are reliable (I have BMW and they are faultless so far)... and you can afford them. Don't forget how Europeans dreamt of the South Afriance 90" Defender in 1998 which was built with a straight 6 cylinder... from BMW. Well, now, you have one available and it has 300bhp instead of 180bhp of the 90's. Enhjoy !

Excellent off road capabilities but they should but Toyota in line 6 cylinder 4.5 or the Toyota v8 4.7 gasoline engine or the Toyota v8 diesel engine

UK and Europe have strict emissions and regulations standards which is partly the reason the old defender is no longer in production and also only the fans liked the old one but few actually bought it as well. Completely different story for the new defender.

Most modern cars are too complex , but I would rather go out into the field in a Toyota than a BMW. Just look how quickly BMWs price drop in the second hand market. Time will tell.

Ineos grabbed the niche that was abandoned by LR, for those who remain loyal to the square box on wheels. Its not actually much cheaper than a new Defender so will be Interesting to see how things develop.

Its similar to the new defender which is a bit steep but if you compare it to a pickup it does come with a bigger engine with more cylinders which is also the case for the new defender.

Will this vehicle have the same problem as Jeep??? after a year or even less in some cases the springs sag and she sits maybe 1 inch lower.....wish I were controlling the aftermarket for Jeep coils.....I would be a multi millionaire...not on the ones who want lifts, but on the ones who don't want Sag.

Looks great but not sure that BMW engines are up to the task from a reliability view point. If I were purchasing a car like this it would have to be the Toyota Landcruiser.

To me this like what a defender would have been if it had been modernised in the 1990's, yes it may well suit some people more but for me the 21st century Defender is fine, and the problem for Land Rover is that is would have likely cost them them a lot more money to develop a car going back to old style 4x4 thinking, while in the case of Radcliffe it would appear he has money to burn on his pet hobby.

Well for day to day use it won't embarrass the new defender but for pushing very satisfying buttons and for general work then this may be better although the new defender can definitely work but people I think are just afraid of the price tag a bit. Although this car isn't exactly cheap either as it has the same starting price as the new defender. So basically it's either BUTTONS or fancy electronics.

@@beaviccoon470 Look who made the drivetrain of LR, the software is the inference only, but then if you’ve got investment in a third party who can design a better program that suits the vehicle then of course it’ll be better, LR isn’t that vehicle anymore... Price, first gen vehicles are test benches, the company may collapse due to poor sales, recalls, redesign issues to correct faults fo next gen models, it’s a waiting game...
