Finally, someone who knows you DO NOT have to lift a truck to install a lift block. Just need to lift the spring in front of the spring perch to get the block in place.

Great video man. I’m downgrading my 6 inch to a 4 inch lift and I would have thought a 4 inch block would make it level but glad I watched this now I know to get a 5 inch block in the rear

I was going to get ford to install my new 2 inch blocks but after seeing this I may just do it myself. I installed my Corsa sport exhaust with my truck on the ground so this seems like a breeze.

ok I have a 2 inch block lift in an f150. the suspension is so stiff I crossed some railroad tracks and the untrusted tail pipe broke off. do I have to remove the block and replace shocks or can I just slap some bilstein shocks on and have a softer ride.

You do not have to remove the block to change shocks out. Your blocks are fine. Go bilstein or fox on the shocks and you will love the ride quality then. 👍🏻

Do you need to get alignment checked after adding/ removing a rear block?

On the rear No, or at least I never have. Some people may try to talk you into a 4 wheel alignment but I wouldn’t. As long as you did the blocks one side at a time then movement is minimal. Just my opinion

i noticed when i installed mines they werent facing straight what did i do wrong? truck is jacked up at the moment so i can redo it lol

Mine have two pins to help align them straight. The ubolts have a top collar they fit in to help align also. Some trucks have angled blocks front to back for proper pinion angle. Make sure the angle goes from back tall to front short.

This is interesting. I'm planning to go from 5" block to 6" or even 8", I've not seen this strategy of doing on the ground and using the jack to just lift the pack off the blocks. That would sure make it easier. However, your video editing points make the video sort of unhelpful. What did you do with the jack on the other side? Did you lift the pack before releasing the nuts? Did this create uneven issues doing the 2nd side?

I broke nuts loose only after putting jack under the leaf pack so there would be no pressure on the nuts. The jack was only on the other side so it didn’t block the camera from showing. Place jack on either side of block on the leaf pack.

@@LivinWith3MI think I'm with you. Specifically at the 7:03 mark, is the jack+wood doing something there? If so, what? How could there possibly be no stress on the nuts if you're lifting the leaf spring pack before breaking the nuts loose? Right at the 7:24 mark, it's like the whole setup shifts or drops or something. What am I missing here...

Lift the truck up and let axle hang. Unbolt the ubolts. Remove block. Then lower jack until axle sits flush. Install 4 ubolt nuts. Now if you’ve added longer u bolts then you’ll need to go back to a factory type ubolt. Hope this helps.
