When I saw the price of a popular GPS bracket for the Tiger 900 class of bikes I decided to look for an alternative. The bar-mount design on Ali Express was 10% of the price and well worth a try - I figured if it failed, I would not be out a lot of money. This project was over a couple of months as I also had to find a good way to provide switchable power my BMW Navigator VI GPS. This video covers the full installation of the GPS mount and a brief portion of the test ride afterwards ... you can judge if it is a success. The actual installation of a Healtech Thunderbox TB-U02 is in another video.

I too got the cheap GPS mount..for my 23 Tiger 900 Rally Pro, and the Angels screen, and the Thunderbox, and the cooling seat cover. I added Outback Motortek upper and lower crash guards and bash plate...and Ali Express radiator guards/axel sliders/headlight clear plastic protector and several other things like Quad lock for phone and ran USBs on board also, and Mosko Moto soft bags etc...change tireds to Dunlap Miission Trailmax...

Sounds like you’re ready for the apocalypse. 😄 How do you find the Dunlops? I’m thinking of getting them too but they seem stiff and heavy. I intend to install tires myself so stiff is not good for that reason and I don’t like extra weight in tires unless the tire is worth it. Have you done off-road with the bike wearing the Dunlops?

I also went with the 46L. Givi Dolomiti top case and added the backrest etc for 2 up....but can hold 2 helmets or my large Shoei helmet etc as I moto camp and wanted the room

I have an XL Shoei RF1400 and can’t fit another helmet in my 47L Givi top box. The large top box does a great job while motocamping s as it holds my electronics as well as anything I need quick access to.

Had this fitted for over a year now, for the price you won't be disappointed, I have my TomTom Rider 500 attached with the Ram mount fittings without any issues, obviously it vibrates a bit but not enough to stop me using it, great vid again buddy 👍

If you come across this, no way should you use this on your Tiger. The extra 1mm thickness over crushes the rubber grommet and will lead to fractures to the screen. Unfortunately I know this for a fact.

Thanks for the comment, but I am not sure what you are referring to. This GPS mount is thinner than the stock bar that is used to raise/lower the windshield, and there is no over-crushing of any grommet on my bike. To date there have been no fractures to my screen and this modification has been on the bike for over 4000 miles.

@@GrumpyGoat It only took a couple of weeks of off road riding and the extra weight and movement has caused fracturing around the mounting holes. You are better off spending the extra to get a better mount.

@@roblewis3834 I don’t doubt that. If I were to do any serious off-road riding I’d probably get something like an Evotech mount which spreads the load much better. Of also probably remove the GPS as well as they are probably not really designed for that level of abuse.
