Today im showing you a step by step video of how to install my two inch subframe drop to allow for more lift and relieve axle binding we run into when lifting these Cr-vs due to the axles getting angled the farther we lift.

EXCELLENT video. I am hoping to do a sub frame drop on a 96 Corolla soon. It's lifted as high as it can go, I've got some interference issues with cv axles now

Would a 1" subframe drop be enough for a CR-V with a 1 1/2" front and 2 1/2" rear lift, or would I need a 1.5" or 2" subframe drop?

Great work man, thanks for the upload. What about the front suspension geometry with the subframe drop ? Basically you are changing the triangulation of the upper and lower control arm's which would affect handling or is this only do able with the adjustable arm's ?

What torque mounts? Ohhhh, you meant that torn rubber assembly that should have been changed while you were doing this upgrade.

SO, you guys are probably going to hate me, but TruHart came out with a front upper control arm for lifted CRVs. No more flipping control arms! Yay! Granted it came out like 2 or 3 weeks ago so, well after this video was made. Take a look: www.truhartusa.com/product_p/th-h219-lift.htm

Those control arms cant be used with a subframe drop. Well they can be but your camber gain/loss will be weird. 👍 or you would need extended spindles like i have on my 3 inch drop kit.

Yeah, the upper arm will be angles downward while the lower arm is flat. Causing positive camber on compression making it handle odd when you hit a bump.

For cars without a subframe drop its awesome though. No more worrying about maxxing out the limits of the upper ball joint!

Im going for a modest lift, and I want to use the OME spring and struts to get the 1.75" lift and the stiffness. Do I need a subframe drop or any other extensions (control arm, etc.) to make up for this small of a lift? I may add strut spacers later, but I want to make sure the offset geometry doesn't destroy my car. Thanks!

How much lift can be used with the 2" subframe drop before any axle issues arise? Also how much lift will it take to run 31x10.50 without cutting the fender trim? Thanks

Best rd1 subframe drop video! I got the aerogenics lift and got axle bind. Just ordered the aerogenics 1" subframe drop kit and hrg steering shaft extension coupling. My crv is FWD. Will this solve the axle bind issue? Do i need additional parts? thanks!

Hi, I noticed you took out the old sub frame drop spacer before installing the 2" spacer. And I believed with that spacer doesn't require to change your hardware. So how many inch was that spacer? Would like to place the sub frame drop spacer without changing the hardware if possible. Thanks.

There were no old subframe spacers. I believe your refering to the engine mount spacers from hrgengineering. Spacing the subframe down will require new hardware.

I was making them but ive sold all of them. Im actually working at hrg now. So id reccomend the 1.5 drop 🤙

So would you recommend deleting the sway bars I've broken 2 passenger front end links in about 6 months but. Both times was due to some rough terrain it makes lots of noise wen one breaks even though it's not a big deal and the parts are not very expensive but it's a pain to keep replacing would it ruin my daily drivability if I just deleted it all together ?

I dont run them on mine but i have stiffer springs. Not sure how drastically it would effect handling on stock springs.

Wouldn't this ultimately reduce your chassis ground clearance

Yes but it allows for more lift and bigger tires that will make up for that loss. Still has more ground clearance than a jeep on the same size tires since we dont have a solid axle

There was no link, i was just making them and shipping them to people who messaged me about them. But ive since started working at hrgengineering,making subframe drops and lift kits. So i dont really bother making these anymore.

HRG wants 500 usd for 2" kit thats kinda fucken dumb that's way too much money. Mark ups kind of redic for some longer class 10 bolts and couple pieces of steel
