International Criminal Court prosecutor seeks arrest warrants for Israel PM and Hamas leaders

The Chief Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defence minister - as well as the Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar and two other leaders - over what he said were crimes against humanity.

The British lawyer Karim Khan thanked a team of eminent international advisers including Britain's Baroness Kennedy and the lawyer Amal Clooney - and said acts committed in the October 7th raid on Israel, and the subsequent seven months of war in Gaza "demand accountability".

Speaking as a Jew, the ICC have got it spot on. Accountability for Israel's government is not anti-Semitism and it is not an attack on Israel itself. He's an insult to the Jewish race for suggesting otherwise. Also, Hamas and anyone echoing their calls for the dissolution, ethnic cleansing and handover of the modern state of Israel are just as bad. They BOTH have to go! Israel needs a new government and probably a new constitution, while Palestine needs international recognition, rights and protections. I'd probably annex Jerusalem too and make it a city state under UN soverigenity, because no religion is worth this much bloodshed.

Why was there no arrest warrant for the whole Israeli parliament and military leaders? The warrants for the Hamas leaders for taking hostages when they have the right to armed resistance against an occupying force, yet no mention of the 10,000 Palestinian hostages taken by Israel. Even this much belated request for warrants appears biased when the Palestinians are facing a declared intent to exterminate them all. If you resist genocide you are also declared guilty the ICC is biased no mention of continuous settler murder backed by the Israel military and parliament.

Although at different scale, soon you’ll see all political complicities of human hardship, meaning both side of coins in geopolitical conflicts such as countries issuing sanctions and governments enabling them ‘kind of pattern’ the terrorists and the ‘good’ dialogues behind closed doors. The victim govs are actually the facilitators of all human tragedies and intentional infliction of hardship and demoralisation that keep any region weak and ready to ‘colonise, extinguish & exploit’. Can’t anyone else see that pattern? Humanity has been lied. There’s no good government but the mother of all merges and acquisitions by corrupt financial psychopaths, mafia idiots and the brainless prostitution of mercenaries. The ICC is not going make token political gestures. If the Israeli Prime Minister has done nothing wrong he has little to fear from a detailed examination of what has happened -it may ironical strengthen the case he has been making about taking the fight to Hammas. Comparisons are odious, to claim that this us a akin to inditing Churchill for action in WW2 is ridiculous. Israel is operating outside its borders with no clear international mandate and has made no formal declaration of war. Moreover Hammas operatives are terrorists not soldiers, so complex rules about the laws of war are even more problematic. Remember the most famous war crimes trail at Nuremberg. Suspected war criminals were given a fair trail with the presumption of innocence, and while most were convicted, what most people don't realise, some were acquitted!

The Semitic Languages include Arabic, Amharic, Aramaic, and Hebrew (among other languages.) The peoples who speak one or more of the Semitic Languages are collectively known as Semitic (obviously.) The term “Antisemitism” refers to bigotry against any of these peoples. Bringing an Arab or a Jew to court for their crimes isn’t bigotry - it’s Justice.
