Time for some unknown foods from far-off lands! There's some purple sweet potato, and... er... A lot of stuff I don't recognise but I ate anyway. It's an international food special! Yes!

The fruit roll-up is Iranian and is actually a mixture of different fruit, which is probably why it tastes so funky. It doesn't say what fruit, but going by experience it's probably a mix of apricot, sour cherries, and apple.

@@demoleramera oh yeah, this was one of the snacks that was really popular in my school, amongst other things like sour gummy rolls, regular gummy candies and all kinds of buns, starting with cinammon ones and ending with apple flavoured ones. My school had all kinds of delicious stuff and it was cheap lol.

For anyone wondering, yes the taro pie was indeed out of date. The reason the year appears as '60' is because Thailand uses the Buddhist calendar, the 60 is shortened from 2560 which going by the Gregorian calendar is 2017. Also the reason why the packaging makes note of being microwaveable is because you usually buy these kinds of foods at 7-Eleven, and the people at the register will often ask if you want it cooked then and there in case you're going on a long trip.

What sucks is that package only had a 7 day shelf life so it probably spoils very quickly. Made Sept 24 2017 and expires Sept 30 2017.

Yep, they're produced in weekly batches and because a lot of people buy them, they rarely end up spoiling while on the shelf.

@@Marquis-Sade Isn't there a equivalent in most countries, though? Here in Austria you can buy fresh sandwiches with Ciabatta bread from a bakery or supermarket, they will heat it for you as well. Or certain meat sandwiches (a very national food here), the meat is always kept warm separately and put into fresh bread when you buy it.

The fruit roll is Lavashak, a persian fruit snack. They can be made from lots of different fruits. And on the back it does say mixed fruit.

Oddly enough people call it salt liquorice, although it’s not that salty, if you eat a lot of it you will have weird aftertaste, similar to ammonia Salmiakki is a weird thing that you either love or deeply despise, I’m in the first group but it doesn’t mean anything since I’m half Finnish

Okay ladies and gentleman let me explain: That black sticky thing (the second item) is called lavashak and is a Persian "delight". They usually differ from fruity roll ups. A true lavashak should be sour and not sweet, unfortunately the Persian people have lost their mind and are actually liking the sweet ones. The sour one usually tastes pomegranate or sour plum.

I imagine people send him this stuff and Ashens pushes a button that opens a hidden elevator leading 1500 feet underground. He goes through a vault door, a vacuum chamber with decon shower, another vault door, another vacuum chamber with decon shower and then another vault door, leading to where he stores these things. Not even the president knows this installation exists. It requires voice, eye and hand print scan, as well as a multi-pass ultrasonic and infrared body scan. There are 32 automated turrets, each with radar, lidar, FLIR, 80 megapixel optics, 2x M2HB machine guns, 2x M72 rocket launchers and 1x Mk 19 grenade launcher. The place is also rigged to blow if need be.

The taro pie was from Thailand. Taro is the same as the 'purple sweet potato' from the first snack. Next time you're out and about try some taro Bob's milk tea from a thai or Vietnamese place. It's delicious.

@@SteenG3yL Yeah genius, and guess why they say "totalled"? Because the car is a *total* loss. Just one is a verb and the other is the noun (phrase). The fact that the words are English may have been a hint that it's an English term. The Dutch term is 'totaal verlies', which is what you'll most likely find in your Dutch language insurance policy.

Holy crud only 3 minutes since release. Now for meaningful comments. I think the worst thing I ever ate was a Slim Jim that I didn't realize was two years out of date. All of the salt had migrated to the surface, all the oil was pooled at the bottom, and the top was like the salt meat sailors used to eat on long voyages, basically being shoe leather but easier to choke on.

Kenetic Kups I had a similar experience where it was like, 2:00 A.M. and I was going to go eat some pizza from a few hours ago. I picked up a slice and ate about 1/3 of it and when I was walking back to my room, pizza in hand I looked down and realized the think was damn-near black with ants! Then a rush of illness hit me and I threw up everything in my stomach. Not to mention ants all over my face/hands. Hands-down one of the worst experiences of my life.

Everyone has different taste buds - im always amazed that people genuinely dont like coconut for example, its so inoffensive to me -- but holy crap - hands down black licorice is the worst tasting thing on earth! I feel like no one actually likes it and they just act like they do. Id rather eat ear wax.

they look almost identical. i think it's like trying to tell apart Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. Many people just think "Arabic". There isn't such a huge difference between them shape-wise like between Korean and Japanese for example.

@@alexgade4512 they are in fact completely identical alphabetically speaking, and it would be impossible for someone who doesn't speak either languages to tell the difference. I know that because I am Arabic and I only knew it was Persian when I tried to read it but found that the words weren't Arabic at all XD.

@@mousysaint9143 No. As similar as Irish and Finnish. The Celtic languages are Indo-European languages, and Finnish isn't. Swedish is a Germanic language and, by default, an Indo-European language.

Pepero is super popular in Korea. On November 11th they have an unofficial holiday called Pepero Day where every convenience store and supermarket make absolutely enormous displays of Pepero, with special edition giant ones and small ones and ones in sets with toys and so on. They chose November 11th because 11/11 looks like sticks of Pepero. It's obviously super corporate but people love it anyway, they all give gifts of pepero to each other, etc... it's pretty cool.
