How Smitty handled the transfer was very smart and good on him. Verifies what the weapon is specifically (by serial number) and who it's being transferred to (by photo of the driver's license). He is completely innocent of wrongdoing and I completely understand him needing to hear that it wasn't his fault anyway. Great interview!

Smitty is great. He definitely has some nervous energy being his first podcast interview but he seems to be a good dude and a damn real American.

I’m sorry but I seriously doubt Cat had anything to do with that. She wasn’t really around him too much because a grown man was grounded and then they took their “trip” then she came around. Chandler didn’t even allow her to come over really until after he got the body’s figured out. If you go back and watch the trial. You’ll see when he burnt the body’s all night. Where was she then? Cat didn’t take any plea deal and it’s OBVIOUS she did nothing wrong to anyone who actually watched all her interviews and demeanor. Chandler was lying to her just like everyone else. His OWN PARENTS believed him- who lived with him and bore him- why wouldn’t she who was blinded by love/lust. And the reason she took so long answering during trial is because she was ensuring that she was racking her brain and perusing her memories to the best of her ability. That was obvious. He did it alone. He lied to her about being at a dr appointment- he obviously lied to her all the time. Leave her alone

I can totally understand why Andrew is still thinking about this every day. I only watched the trial and *I* am seriously thinking about writing to Chandler in prison, because I can't stop thinking about all the open questions. I wish he had taken the stand and told us his version of events. Honestly, I think this is one of those cases where you can't make it worse for yourself by testifying.

The transfer of gun ownership conversation reminded me of a story from an old colleague of mine. He used to buy and sell cars and one time he sold this old Landrover. Sometime later the police came knocking on his door and gave him a grilling. Apparently the vehicle had been used by the IRA for something! I think she totally bought Chandler's story because when she said there's no way Chandler would have done anything to his parents she said, "He had that great job at SpaceX lined up. There's no way he would have done something this stupid to mess that up." so she totally bought his SpaceX lie. Also, as a matter of fact she DID question the smell in the house and Chandler told her that when he broke the fireplace surround it got that smell out into the room. I do not think Cat had anything to do with what happened to the Haldersons. People talk about how cute she was or how "hot" she was but I think it is also true that she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I believe this also accounts for the hesitation she had before she answered the simplest of questions. Because she was not the sharpest knife in the drawer, it could have been quite easy for Chandler to deceive her. He deceived people who were way yonder smarter than she is! Also, we only have Chandler's word that she had a knife fetish and I think we all know how much Chandler's word is worth. He seemed to have a habit of lying about people in his life to make other people have a poor opinion of them, I guess so they would have a BETTER opinion of him. He told police that Cat's Mom didn't like his parents and then he said she had never actually met his parents. Why then would she dislike them? Why because of what the great Chandler Halderson TOLD her about them. He told Andrew that his mother was stealing his checks. In other videos people have commented about how strange it was that Chandler, who I believe was 23 at the time was "grounded" or had been sent to his room and that was regarded as proof of how strange his parents were. He told the cops that when he had his "breakdown" out at the farm that Cress and Cat's Mom "wanted to watch him breakdown." Oddly, neither woman recalls wanting to watch him "breakdown". Actually, we only have Chandler's word that he had been grounded or sent to his room and we all know how much Chandler's word is worth. I think Chandler lied about all the people in his life to all the other people in his life because he did not want them to develop a closeness and perhaps have conversations with each other that would reveal his lies. Therefore, he didn't have to necessarily remember all the lies he had told his mom and dad when he was talking to Cat and he didn't have to remember all the lies he told Cat's mom when he was talking to his own mom and dad. When we try to unravel the story of Chandler Halderson, we absolutely MUST stop and ask ourselves if we have independent proof of what we believe or if we are just believing something that Chandler said because Chandler lies so much that his own lawyer said that there was no reason to put him on the stand because he lied so much that no one would believe his testimony anyway. I am ECSTATIC that he is in prison and will NEVER get out!

If Cat had gotten a plea deal there would be a record of it, we would know what the lesser charge was-but there wasn’t-the fact y’all tried to make it seem like her behavior was sus, even though all the evidence proves otherwise. Lost all credibility with me at least. Also chandler lied about getting grounded to Cat, so that he would t see her, because he was lying about being injured and was worried his parents and cat would pick up that he actually wasn’t injured so he would isolate himself. I don’t even believe you watched the trial, because how can you say the testimony of Cat or her mom and her moms gf don’t make sense. Seemed pretty clear, and their behavior was reasonable.

This lawyer has so many facts wrong and doesn't sound like a lawyer. I really think that his "conclusions" about many "facts" are questionable. I do appreciate he did an interview with Andrew Smith but his approach is all wrong for any person looking for facts. He feeds too many of his own thoughts and opinions in addition to having so many basic facts wrong that can be verified. He also plays up to the image he has of Smith. I thought lawyers were interest in the truth but this guy is much more into speculation.
