They're not actually poor. Issue is corruption and negative social norms. With the amount of natural resources on the continent, Africa is rich, but those resources are being stolen by internal and external corrupt elite parties. Plus, keep in mind that if African countries develop economically the petrol dollar not backed by much natural resources, would be in trouble as reserve currency.

As a Michigander, the fall of Detroit is downright tragic. It wasn't just the richest city in the state, it was the richest city in the entire world for some time. Basic apartment buildings (converted from homes) have marble floors and outrageously expensive woodwork throughout. They used to have marble mantles with gold inlay in many homes, golden fixtures throughout, the city was dripping with money... all gone, only ruins remain in most places.

Us New Mexicans are also seeing the rise of crime and violence in urban communities and local tribal neighborhoods, such as meth and fentynal crisis. No wonder why it’s the worse state to raise a family. But there’s some positives that come from New Mexico.

Most of those states the government wants to keep them poor and uneducated, these are the states that are trying to do away with certain history books. All of these states are the poorest and most racist.

Some of these places are “poor” because of their leaders. Government has sent millions to places like MS whose gubner keeps sending money back because he’s playing politics versus seeing and caring for the needs of the people as a whole.

I live n East Texas wit my family, place called Tyler; not far from there, but I always love to visit when I can, got family n friends out there.
