Dividends isn't really a sign that the company isn't exciting or interesting for investors. Typically it means that they're massive and growth is limited. All companies have a limited growth and a cap. A company that can pay dividends over long period means they've hit their cap but have found a way to stay relevant and profitable in an ever changing economy

Probably the safest thing to invest in the Imperial Era is in a waste management company. Collecting, transporting, recycling and destruction of waste is beneath the Empire notice and probably won’t be Nationalized or a pirates target. HQ would probably be on Raxus Prime or Lotho Minor.

Financially, I have no future. A run of bad luck, personal problems, and health issues I didn't ask for destroyed that. I'm already 47, and if things continue on politically the way they've been going, I'm pretty much prepared to live on the street someday. If I even live long enough to get to that point. Down to Earth advice from a galaxy far, far away.

A big bit of advice I'd give is never invest money that you can't afford to lose. That being said, the only reason I own a house right now is because I recognized during covid the stock market had crashed hard and had nowhere to go but up. So I invested half my life savings. Once I get this year's tax refund, I'm splitting it a bit and opening small investment accounts for my kids. That way they will have something when they turn 18. Edit: added first sentence

I got my environmental science degree at a state college on Naboo, and moved back home about an hour by speeder to Theed. I'm projected to pay off my loans in about 2 years because my wife and I are saving. Rent keeps increasing and hopefully I'll be able to buy property out by the gungans. I just wish the republic would stop trying to increase war with the separatists, I really think Palpatine and Dooku are in on it together to gain more power for the chancellor's office.
