Every time I hear Damian Darkblood talk, I can't help but remember that he's voiced by the same guy who plays Mr. Krabs on Spongebob. Kind of takes away that demonic feel to him.

I like gore when it's done right. In this show the violence seems realistic to the world that's being portrayed.

The sad thing about Nolan's eulogies to the Guardians at their public and private services is that even despite the fact that he was their murderer, he was still entirely sincere. These were his friends. His companions. People he built trust with, who fought beside them. People he cared about. Yes, he killed them, betrayed them, violated that trust... but it was NOT easy for him. He's been on Earth for 20, maybe 25 years, and those few years changed him UTTERLY. He is NOT the same person he was when he left his people. The truth of it is that even by the end of the season, he's only beginning to come to terms with how native he's gone in his time on Earth... which makes his choices leading up to that point all the more tragic for him, and for the people who died due to his lack of self-awareness.

We do have an English phrase that someone's "words ring hollow" to mean the things they say are insincere or false. Sounds like a similar phrase to what you were trying to get to.

I do feel slightly jealous, I think having more of a reaction to the gore makes it a better story telling device. The point of a good story is to move the audience with a memorable story, That stays with them and having such a visceral reaction to it make that point stand out more. So ignore the people complaining about it.

Whats so interesting about this show, is that when Invincible almost dropped the father at Mt. Rushmore. Everyone actually gets shocked a bit because we ACTUALLY believe that someone could die/ Most Superhero series no one would even consider a hero failing. But this show is different. Even small things like a civilian dying is possible. Making small things like that actually impactful and interesting .

Seeing Darkblood speaking to Omni-Man, it begs the question, in a universe where you have living proof of the existence of Hell, why would you willingly commit acts of genocide? Kind of setting yourself up for some major hurt down the line.

Omni-man watching the Guardians fight the Maulers realized they were becoming powerful enough to stand up to him. He barely beat them. In fact he collapsed at the end. That's why he killed them. The real trigger was Mark getting his powers but the reason was they were becoming a threat.

While both Eve and Dupli-kate are both justified in being angry with Rex, what little I know of his backstory makes me sympathetic to him. Also, Omni Man's emotional state is something as interesting as anything I've ever seen. there is more grey than what appears. Not that his little mass murders are justified, mind you. And how far will he go? Pretty far. Keep the barf bucket at hand at all times. All that said, my real problems are with Cecil and Amber. You'll understand better later on. For a 10 episode series, this is greatly nuanced, besides everything else.

I absolutely love how so many of the characters and their backgrounds have been changed and adapted for modern times. 1) Doc Seismic being a progressive SJW who uses corny but funny bad guy one liners is so much better than the bland as hell baddie he was in the comics. Also Kat and Sonny what he said about Mt. Rushmore is completely accurate (aside from Lincoln) in fact the U.S. Government actually outright stole that land from Native American tribes to build it. To this day the U.S. Government has not apologized or made accommodations to the local tribes. 2) Shrinking Rey as well as a few other female characters on this show were guys in the comics, in fact there were like 20 male superheroes to every 1 female superhero. 3) Amber is a a cooler and far more fleshed out character than in the comics.
