Earlier this week Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer changed the Senate's informal dress code rule. This was done after Senator John Fetterman was seen in less formal attire on Capitol Hill. This made me think about the clothes that politicians wear. I took a look back at the morning suits Presidents used to wear during inaugurations and how Presidential fashion has evolved since then. Obama's tan suit even makes an appearance.

Well, politicans tend to make fashion trends for decades. JFK didnt wear a fedora and as a result, alot of hat stores went out of business. Hillary Clinton got the "pant suit" look into fashion in the US. Truman made "Hawaiian Shirts" a fashion statement on vacation.

The “tan suit controversy” is something that is more well known in hindsight than it was at the time. It has received significantly more attention since 2016 as an attempt to delegitimise criticism of the Obama regime.

Fashion isn't ruining politicians; men's fashion is just boring. The vice president of Argentina has a really good fashion sense, the two front runners in Mexico have a very modern sense of fashion

Men’s fashion isn’t boring. It’s just that the “acceptable” variety of clothes(especially jackets/coats, shirts, shoes, hats, and ties) has greatly shrunk as a good chunk of people think that a guy who dresses in a different variety of suit (a non-black/charcoal/navy suit), a hat that isn’t a baseball cap, or wears a pocket square is snobbish or thinks they’re better than them. It’s not true much of the time, but it’s what some people think.
