Absolutely love my Arteon, got mine last September (280ps Petrol 4WD) and still love it like the day I got it - I went for a pretty massive spec (only thing I didn't get was the HUD / cameras) and its definitely the best car I've owned. One thing that is quite annoying though is the frameless windows, not being able to ever install wind deflectors means you're pretty much guaranteed to get covered in rain / snow depending on where you live, because of the sloped roof

Is it a 2.0t gen3 ea888 similar to the Golf R but it is not the same motor by any means. The Golf R and the Rs3 both have forged internals. The A3/GTI/Arteon do not get forged internals.

Does it have Brake Hold? Saw a blank next to the ebrake switch. The Mexican and American-made VWs don't have Brake Hold, but since Arteon is made in Germany and $$$, was hoping it would have Brake Hold.

Beautiful car... ! You should compare it to an Audi A5 sportback, a BMW 4 gran coupe, or a Kia Stinger. The A7 is a higher class vehicle

I always loved German cars all my life, but honestly I was never a huge fan of VW Brand named cars. I think the Arteon is one of the most visually appealing vehicles (by VW) ever made in my opinion.

Hi Raiti's Rides! I noticed when you had the hood open you said " I wish it has DCT " but Volkswagen has DSG wich means Direct Shift Gearbox wich is a dual clutch as well.

Amazing exterior design, little too bland inside. I would compare it over an A5 Sportback or a Stinger or the Regal GS, but the A7 is another level of refinement and price.

Beautiful car, in regards to the driving modes would be nice if they had a snow/ice mode as well.

I have a 2012 Volkswagen CC Luxury with the 2.0T. It's been a complete nightmare and needs more power. Everything broke. Roof lining, gas tank, turbo, windows, coil packs, plugs, now the bearings are going.

Since 1996 Volkswagen has become a premium brand with the Passat B5 model and in 1998 Volkswagen has become a luxury-sports brand. Also Volkswagen Arteon is in class with 6 Series, A7, CLS but Arteon is more expensive than 6 Series and A7 but cheaper than CLS.

You look like you are in a bad mood during this review. Anyways your reviews are always great! Keep it up.

With all the Zonks you gave the Arteon. I definitely won't consider buying it. Even If I had the money. The Zonks made it a done deal.

I love my A5, but arteon looks soooo good.

The motor in this should really by Golf R spec - 310hp. Oh, and the ZF 8 speed is an excellent automatic - probably better for day-to-day use and more livable than the 7 speed DSG.

Too bad it doesn't have the big multimedia system, instead of the little one. The volume button can be easily replaced with the buttons on the steering wheel.

This is one interesting VW for sure. I can see where the rear plate is supposed to be mounted, but how is it mounted? Does the dealer drill holes? Save the Wave.

Test drove one last week. It looks awesome but that’s all it has going for it. I personally felt the power was fine but it did not feel like a premium vehicle. Stereo was awful and the Dynaudio (requires an expensive trim upgrade) wasn’t much better. Lane centering isn’t available at any price.

18 minute long video and not one word.on how the car drives. Way to go! Also these type of vehicles usually have very low resale value.

Actually, even the European fully loaded model still has a bunch of blank buttons right there. It’s a common VW/Audi thing, i hate it as well. Main features the US model is missing are the 9.2” Discover Pro Nav system and the Head-up display.

VW designed the Arteon for the international market, especially for their home markets in Europe. As a result it reflects the preferences of Europeans for GT's capable of extended high speed driving (e.g 100 mph+) on well maintained highways and excellent handling on European roads that have been in place for centuries and snake their way through ancient cities and farms. All of this is in contrast to the stereotypical American obsession with 0-60 acceleration on long straight roads that make up much of the US and on highways where traveling at 100mph will land you in jail or the morgue. VW has been burned in the past by marketing their European spec vehicles in the US. The (European) Passat was widely praised by automotive journalists but languished on dealer lots in America until it was replaced by a larger, cheaper version built in Tennessee. The Touareg is an upscale highly capable SUV but it, too, sat unsold in America and was replaced here by the larger, cheaper, Atlas. The same was true of the European Tiguan, a vehicle that many journalists praised as the best handling compact SUV. It's still sold in Europe and internationally but has been replaced by a larger and, again, cheaper version in North America. Internationally that model is known as the "Allspace" and is seen as a midsize SUV. Even models that are sold in both the US and Europe are often differently configured. For example, the European spec GTI is better equipped than in the US and a two-door model is still available there. But in Europe the top trim Autobahn GTI has an MSRP equivalent to over $50,000, a price that VW believes (correctly) Americans simply will not pay. As far as the Arteon is concerned, VW doesn't expect to sell many in the US. And for that reason they've limited the configurations available. In Europe three gasoline engines are available. The most powerful is the same 2.0L engine used in various VW's (and Audis) but with a higher tune than in the US and mated to a DSG. In its highest tune it's considerably quicker than the US version (5.5 seconds 0-60) but VW believes Americans prefer a conventional torque converter AT and that's why the DSG isn't offered here. In addition, Europeans have options of four diesel engines not available in the US. All of these choices means a considerably higher price for any one of them. (More choices means more expensive production, service, and inventory management.) A top trim version of the Arteon in the UK most comparable to the US version of the Arteon, for example, has an MSRP equivalent to over $61,000. In Germany, the price is even higher. All in all, the Arteon is a true European GT sedan at a price tag less than $50K. Its most direct rival is the KIA Stinger but even that vehicle is more aimed at an American market with a twin scroll V6 and materials and finish less premium than the Arteon for about the same price. Those who appreciate the kind of vehicle the Arteon is will find it appealing but VW doesn't believe there are many customers with European tastes in North America. And in the wake of declining sedan sales of all kinds, they're not willing to make more than a token investment in the Arteon for North America.

Again I dunno Joe, The Mazda 6 signiture has this beat (except for exterior looks) starting @ $34-$35k, 250hp 300 lb ft of torque and Mazdas interior blows this farty Arty out of the water. This Arty should be be 35k. Again great review cheers!

Nah just get an A5. Yes this is an improvement over the cc, but its front grill looks weird, the interior is straight out of a jetta, and the price difference between this and an audi is less than one might think.

I like the arteon but it does need badly a rwd option as well as a v6 because it looks sporty but lacks in those categories in my opinion.
