Of course china is way ahead of philippines in terms of GDP growth, but since Philippines has been attracting many more investors from all over the world and was able to generate investment pledges of up to $72.2 billion through Marcos' foreign trips to other countries just last year, it's safe to claim Philippines has been developing and could rival China.

It's the fertility rate and young demographic. Even with all it's corruption and low foreign investments it still grows. A decade or 2 from now alot of countries economy will decline due to their aging population and low fertility rate.

Food is a blessing and must be given due respect as many hands work and toil together to bring food on the table. In the Bible, God punished the Rich for wasting food and for being uncompassionate to the poor and needy.

I live in Metro Manila and I can attest to the fact of so many infrastructure projects under construction like the first subway, LRT extensions, MRT, bridges , skyways (toll roads), commuter railways, new commercial districts and the signficant reduction of slums. The squatters houses have been bulldozed to the ground to give way for progress. New international airport is also on full blast construction.

The IMF just released its latest GDP data. The Philippine economy is now the 4th largest among the ASEAN countries after Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. It jumped two places from 6th in 2022. For so long, we have been hearing people say that the Philippines is being left behind by our neighbors. The Philippines is doing much better now under President Marcos Jr.

We can compare high growth in Philippines and Vietnam. Philippines economy is mainly supported by BPO services, OFW remittance and potentially games. Vietnam is supported by growing manufacturing, export hub for electronic and IT products. Here we can see the difference of quality of growth, and its impact to the countries development. To add, how Vietnam government secures food from domestic production and cheap energy at adequate supply is far ahead than that of Philippines.

Vietnam's electricity industry is state-owned, as such the state provides subsidies to lower the cost of electricity which in return encourages FDIs. That's opposite in the Philippines where the major electricity production and distribution are in the hands of private sector, with no subsidies from the government. Also in the Philippines, since 1986, the state-owned power company is prohibited to compete against the electricity distribution business in the city centres.

They will bring their businesses, expertise and implementing the CAN ACADEMY ( Community Action Network) Imagine Filipino kids will be trained in many fields of their career in the United States curriculum educational system? How kool is that? A filipino kids graduated in the Philippines has the same graduate status in the U.S. The U.S. is safer to bring the semi-conductor business in the Philippines. It will be safer here than Taiwan. China is after Taiwan.

The Philippines educational system has different curriculum. A graduate in the Philippines requires to undergo other subjects or training to meet the U.S. requirement.

Vietnam has more manufacturing plants than the Philippines having attracted more companies from China. Thailand has more than 4o million tourists visit its tourist sites compared to Philippines paltry 6 million. Philippines has to do more.

Good luck, Philippines, but I have suggestions. Do something with your architecture. You can have the best country on Earth. Business districts should be ultramodern, but the rest should be in traditional architecture. Like Japan. Modernity and respect for tradition.

Philippines is planning to amend its constitution. Charter Change is coming. If we're successful in amending the constitution and remove FDI restrictions, it will happen very soon.
