I'm not obese, but definitely over weight and I've hated my self for it for years but recently have gotten on a diet of a calorie deficit and feeling so much better for it, and take this from someone who has had anxiety about their body for allllllllllllong time. It is just a decision to make a change. The small dopamine rush you get from the flavour of your favourite food isn't worth years of mental and physical health problems. Edit: Bro I can’t even start with how much I appreciate everyone’s support in the replies Ty so much everyone ❤️

Congratulations on your marriage!!! I was very obese during my late teens/early twenties, because of a medication. It was horrible. I tried the whole ”health at every size” mentality thing, it didn’t help, I was getting bigger and bigger and getting problems from it. At one point I was sick of having aches and looking like a sea elephant so I finally got off my giant ass, quit that med, started eating healthier and started working out. I’m now very fit and I feel great👍

I’m not your typical demographic, I’m a middle aged American woman. Not sure how I ended up here on this corner of KZfaq. But I completely agree with your conclusions. I had lots of solid excuses for ending up obese with a BMI of 40. I quit smoking, lost a physically demanding job through no fault of my own, had two complicated pregnancies back to back that put me on bed rest, suffered a serious orthopedic injury that put me in a wheelchair for months, and then lost my 31 year old husband in an accident. It was a lot. I hardly even realized how big I had gotten for many years. But…at some point I decided I’d had enough and I took stock of my situation. I actively changed everything about the way I approached food. I changed what and when I ate. I went all in with keto and intermittent fasting and within 2 years 95lbs had melted off. It didn’t happen as fast for me as it can for some. I had a lot of factors working against me. But I didn’t give up. It can be done, even when the odds are against you. It’s worth the effort. I don’t hate fat people, I don’t entirely blame them for their weight, but ultimately it’s up to the individual to change their mindset and habits.

Leah, I am a middle aged American male. My BMI is also 39 or 40 now. Fast food and junk food diet and diet soda for decades. I was in great shape till I hit about 22, then started getting really fat. I am fed up with it. Finally set up some personal training sessions and going to be working with a nutritionist. Glad the keto worked for you. I am looking to go that route as well. Also, I am very sorry to hear about your husband. That is unfortunate. Glad to know you are doing good. I been watching Isaacs' content for about a month now and he cracks me up. Definitely a voice of reason, and very very funny. Good luck to you! Congrats on your journey!

@@kekibannmi6054 right?! It’s literally the exact opposite. But it’s not profitable if we’re not buying tons of processed carbs and paying through the nose for diabetes and cholesterol meds. Isaac, first of all, congratulations on getting married! Secondly, as a life long fat person, I couldn't agree with you more about the health risks of being overweight. I was up to 530 lbs, lost 230 lbs, and am stuck in limbo at this point. I need to lose another 100 lbs to be at the best weight for my height. It seems that a lot of younger fat people have decided it's easier to get the world to accept them the way they are, instead of taking responsibility for their own health. When I fly I have to buy 2 seats and get a seatbelt extender. I pay for those seats, because the airline does not owe me a free seat. Same goes for movie theaters, restaurants, and so on. I had to learn to manage and it breaks my heart to see an unhealthy lifestyle being celebrated. I am now reaping the "benefits" of being fat for so long - heart issues, back issues, knees are shot, and I get around with a walker. Anyway, you keep on doing what you're doing - damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

@@ailospjellok7475 So you went from one form of idiocy to another. The whole culture war thing is a massive distraction away from the economic psychopathy that is destroying society. Seriously, both the social liberals and social conservatives are doing the same thing. Trying to force people to conform to arbitrary social behaviours in order to stem the tide of human misery that the broken economic system is creating. But it's like putting a band aid on a gaping wound. The system died in 2008 and the paid pundit class are just using the culture war to distract you from the stench of the corpse. Issac may be a social conservative, but he just voted Labor in the last election. I ruptured my ACL in kickboxing in february and healing has been a long, slow process. I appreciate this channel so much for helping to keep my spirits higher when healing has been so hard. Your words cut to the bone and I felt every single one of them as I struggle with wishing I was "all better" already rather than go through physical therapy but its a process just like with losing weight to get myself back in shape. One day at a time and choosing to do it intentionally is the way to go. Thanks for preaching this simple truth today, I needed to hear it.

I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum with all three of my pregnancies.. extreme morning sickness, to put it “simply”. I went from about 160-170 my first pregnancy, and after I had my daughter I was around 90-100lbs. I had one unhealthy meal after having her, because I wasn’t able to eat anything during my pregnancy… but after that, I got onto keto with my parents. My dad was taken off the diabetic list his doctor had, and I weighed about 120-135, and had abs even though I wasn’t doing your average work outs (just chasing kiddos around, going up and down stairs, etc, is what I was doing). Becoming thin was very unhealthy for me until I was able to get back into keto, which I then felt amazing. I was healthy, I was thin, everything was good. Well, I got my tubes tied after my third child, and I think I just got depressed… I stress ate, etc. I grew up around eating disorders and they followed me. Now, my heaviest weight as of about last month was 206lbs. But now? Now I’m in keto again. Well, trying to be. It’s hard because my husband eats whatever he wants to, so I feel pretty alone when it comes to my journey… but videos like this help me develop the control needed to say no to food and yes to water, one big meal or some small snacks throughout the day. It isn’t a lot, but I’ve already lost 6lbs and am hoping to be less than 200lbs by next week. So far, I’m just losing size, somehow. Water weight I guess? Like my double chin is basically gone… Anyways. Going from super thin and healthy, to “being fat is okay!” …. Sucks. Being fat is NOT okay. Being fat hurts. Looking in a mirror and really seeing how big you actually are? Hurts. I miss my thigh gap and being able to clean my house in less than 2 hours because my back wasn’t hurting after 5 minutes of standing and rinsing. I absolutely love body positivity. I’m not against it. Love yourself. But loving yourself doesn’t mean looking at your fat body and saying “fuck society, I’m beautiful!” … it means looking at yourself and realizing that you need to lose weight. No. It means realizing that you’re unhealthy. Body love is not stuffing it full of outrageous amounts of food, it’s taking care of yourself. These people don’t love themselves… they’re killing themselves. I was killing myself… No one said life was easy, so stop making it harder on yourselves 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nah, I think it's more that being young your body can repair itself more efficiently, so you don't really feel the effects, but when you get to a certain age it can cripple you pretty quickly, then you pay for it later in life. I suppose growing up around overweight people it seems normal also. This is why the poster children for these movements tend to be younger people. Being overweight doesn't mean you lack ambition in other areas of life, same as being skinny doesn't mean you are automatically fit and healthy.

I'm an obese guy who is obese for many years. I'm in my mid-twenties and yeah ... I tried to get down with the weight once earlier this year because prior to this attempt I didnt give a fuck about my weight. I wasnt involved in that toxic fatism and I was always aware about my health and that it kills me earlier than necessary. But I was completely okay with it until I got to know some "benefits" of being fat. I have precursors of Diabetes and problems with my eyes because of a high blood sugar due to shitty foof. I can completely get rid of those problems when I get my ass up and only eat healthy. And thats what I start today as I planned for the last couple of days. Even when I dont have anything to live for in my life and I'm literally a failure as a human, I enjoy some things I can only enjoy when I have functional eyes. It will be hard, but giving up is no option. Giving up is in regard of losing weight just suicide that takes longer time to apply.

Man I lost like 30 or 40 kgs in my early 20s, you can do it, you've just gotta really want it and obsess about it. Always resist cravings and turn down shitty food and never miss out on exercise you planned to do. Resisting cravings and refusing shitty food gets easier the longer you do it. It's honestly alot easier after like the first month.

Mid-twenties here too; I started by doing a little everyday. Not too many reps, not that heavy weights, not that long distances running/cycling. But I did make sure to do them everyday, and increase my reps, weight en distance in tiny steps. Once I got that discipline, I could make bigger steps in weight and reps. I tried a few years before, but always ended up quitting due to injury or exhaustion. With the mindset: just one day of rest That rolled into 2 days, 1 week, 1 month... etc. you know how it goes

I've had more comments on my weight since becoming skinny. The amount of times I've been told when I'm cold its because of my weight, buying clothes isnt easier necessarily, things still dont fit right, seams in the wrong places etc. People say things to skinny people the majority of polite people wouldnt say the reverse of to someone whos fat. As someone who has been on both sides of the scales, I'd never want to be fat again. Ever!

Hey Isaac I too used to be overweight myself going from 195kgs to around between 90kgs and 100kgs now. Living at such a big size sucked balls like having to wipe my arse with a back scratcher with a face washer wrap around, there’s nothing beautiful about that and all the tablets I had to take to stay alive after having two heart attacks. Having lost the weight which was one of the biggest battles of my life, I no longer need medication to stay alive, I don’t get out of breath getting out of a chair for starters, but the biggest change for me was the quality of life I now get to enjoy. At the the end of the day everything in moderation and don’t put in more than burn. Ty Isaac for trying to point out to world that being told overweight is healthy when it clearly is not. surviving being overweight I can tell you there is nothing healthy about it. No matter what anyone says I would rather drag my balls across broken glass then be overweight again. Cheers you great mother trucker.

I’m fat do I’ll speak for myself here. I choose unhealthy foods in absurd quantities and that made me fat. I’m under a lot of stress, very little sleep, on call 24/7, and honestly food is the only positive thing in my life where I look forward to eating and feeling good. Of course I know this is wrong but, my days are focused on everyone but myself and at the end of the day, all I want is to feel good, hence food and binging. I think because my head is so occupied with taking care of others and making decisions all day and making sure everyone is ok and taken care of, I just don’t have the mental or emotional power to devote to myself. I am spent in every which way a person can be spent, and I simply don’t have it in me to focus on myself. Sounds like excuses and in a way they are. I take full responsibility for my life, I haven’t don’t well by me, I just hope when life frees up a bit, I’ll be able to take some focus onto me. When I buy foods I could buy healthy things to make and snack on. Money is not an issue thankfully. But, who tf wants to snack on carrot sticks and celery and cucumbers when I can snack on junk food that makes me feel good however momentarily. Sad existence, I know. :( Everything we do is a choice. Everything. (I am fully aware some ppl have hormonal and other issues that make weight loss very difficult, and weight gain very easily. I am not talking about those ppl. The vast majority of ppl live a sad existence and those are the ones who live to eat. And that’s a choice.)

Congrats on your nuptials. Hope you two make a great life together. Now, the video... About 18 years ago I tore my rotator cuff. No big deal, go see a doctor and get it fixed. At that point I was 6 foot 3 and 360 pounds. Not really fat but a lot of muscle and some fat. Had dreams of being a strong man competitor. Working out every day and eating everything. Well, when I took my shirt off too be looked at, the doctor actually gasped. (22 inch neck, 58 inch chest and a 44 inch waist. Very big man). How much do you weigh he asked? I told him. After the shock wore off. He explained to me that he didn't think I was fat, just way overweight. He explained to me the problems of being so heavy and big. Sore feet, knees, back, hips, you get the idea. He also hinted at the real problems with being so big. Heart, lungs, and the non reversible damage to my body. WELL, for some reason I listened to this guy. At the next appointment, after the bad news of my shoulder (it was f**cked) I asked the doctor what his thoughts on best way to reduce e my weight? "Essy" he said with a smile. "Eat less and do more." So i got myself into a health clinic and it turns out he was right. My trainer, Agata was her name, informed me that the loss of 3500 calories per week is a pound of fat. Only 2 ways of getting rid of them. Burn them off or dont eat them! And anyone who has tried burning 3500 calories knows. It ain't easy to burn them off. So I adjusted my diet. Ate whatever I wanted, just less of it. Started riding my mountain bike and going on walks. The weight fell off. And I was already in good shape. It wasn't super fast, but after a year I was under 300. Now all these years later I sit at 220 pounds. Not skinny, but way not fat. Finally happy with how I look to me. Body doesn't hurt anymore. Lungs are better. Stress test on heart way better. And the one I wasn't expecting was how people treat you. They talk to you and look at you different. That felt nice. So, anyone who is trying to find a way to get to their best self. It's not that hard. And it doesn't cost much. In fact you can save money by not eating so much and you probably own a pair of shoes already. You dont need a gym membership, outside is free. Eat a little less and exercise a bit more. Its soooooo worth it. Good luck

I would suggest minimizing eating, if you eat a little and wait, your mind will register it as if you have eaten, I will suggest consulting the internet for proper diet, since merely not eating a lot is unhealthy, as your body needs certain things and react badly to not intaking others. Personally I had found minimizing how much you eat and eating only when hungry easier than doing arobic work.

Ummmm you need a bit of an education. People can get overweight without being an over eater. Someone can be starved in times in their life. There are other factors. Hell Im not small by any means. But I work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, I do 8, 000 steps a day burning at least 400 calories a day. And I barely eat I may eat my lunch at work or I may skip it and barely eat dinner. Its not always a choice there are factors that come into play. Are there those that are fat by choice yes. But when you make an absolute that Being fat is this and that you are saying every person thats overweight is because of what you just said and its not true.

I agree we all have a choice but I just want to point one thing that with medications like epilim, serequel and olanzipine they can make it preety much impossible to loose weight as they cause the body to burn less calories and increase hunger beyond a normal level. It is a choice to be on these medications but the choice for some people is either between having seizures, psychotic episodes or suicidal ideation or rapid weightgain. It seems unfair to say people in these predicaments as just not making the choice or trying hard enough. Apart from that... loving your content especially with lil Dickson :)

Seroquel didn't make me fat but I hated it. I was rx'd Lyrica for fibromyalgia and I gained 15 lbs in THIRTY days! So I made the doctor change to Ultram again. But for 7 years, I've been off ALL my Rx meds for pain. And for 4+ years, I've lost and kept off over 45 lbs. It's hard but it's possible.

Absolutely. I take Seroquel and I rapidly gained 40 pounds when I first started taking it. It happened so fast that my skin couldn't stretch fast enough and was cracking and bleeding where stretch marks would have been. I had to go off medication for a few years to lose the weight as it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to lose weight while taking it, no matter what you do. Lost the weight, now back on Seroquel as it's the only medication that works for me, but I have to stick to the keto diet myself and stay on my feet most of the day in order to maintain my weight. Not nearly enough attention is given to weight gain being a side effect of prescription drugs. It's a pretty common problem.

@@blueowl8928 dead set. I switched from fast acting seroquel to seroquel XR to manage weight gain. The XR (extended release) seems anecdotally much better for me- my appetite isn't so cravey. Ive managed to lose 2 kg since changing to XR. Ill be able to make it happen I think- being in calorie deficit isnt great management of my schizophrenia, either. I don't sleep well, my heart races and its harder to stay on an even keel. Very slowly I reckon Ill figure it out.
