The question about yellowing on Shimpaku was spot on, I'm from Europe, (the Netherlands) and we to had a long, cold spring. This year I noticed way more internal yellowing than usual, interesting to hear it can be related to the longer, colder spring we've had.

I was surprised the topic came up, and glad it did.... I'm in South-western Virginia, I have 2 young, small Shimpaku, and both scared the heck out of me, having quite a bit of shedding going on internally, but a few small foliage branches as well. They seem to be doing better just recently. Problem is, mine are both problem trees for me as they were "pom-pomed" by the original owner, ( who through these away) Trying to decide what to do with them is a challenge I havent figured out, especially creating an apex. More beginner Shimpaku videos maybe Bjorn????

I've always been super into bonsais and the information and beauty and art of it all. Though, the only one I have is a cheap grafted tree from a grocery store haha. One day I'd love to make my own bonsai! I'm currently growing maple trees in hopes that one day I'll make it into a little bonsai forest. But we'll see haha.

I enjoy all your videos, the questions and answer portion was great. I’m surprised at the way you styled this tree, I thought you’d leave more green at the apex. It seems too sparse to me but I’m a complete amateur.

That main branch that cuts across the trunk just feels like it should be curved left to mirror the one right above it.. Idk why it just feels like bending back towards the trunk is very artificial looking
@zarethd
@zarethd 2 жыл бұрын
everything else bends away from the trunk, I feel like in a year or two some side branches could cut across without having that weird pinched parallel line with the trunk

@jaycrockett9205
@jaycrockett9205 2 жыл бұрын
Not to mention he was specifically speaking about his trees which are worth alot of money not to mention customer trees ,this is not a back yard hobbyist set up you need to understand the difference your trees are probably with nothing at all and crap ,his tree are worth ten of thousands of dollars ,that like never changing oil in a very expensive car . Wake up do want you want in your little garden ,don't compare it to a serious Bonsi shop especially not to the top bonsia shop in North America.
@jaycrockett9205

Anything over 500 to 5 Millon dollars should be taken care of properly anyway and what's the big deal with chemicals anyways most chemicals are natural like organic s you just don't understand the definition of chemical ,this dose not mean toxic or bad ,yes there are bad chemical s as well but they are natural occuring .don't get all caught up in chemical bs unless you know what your talking about salt is a chemical and that is what fertilizer is.

@@jaycrockett9205 broskie chill, being kind can go a long way. Your points are surely valid but they are coming across in a very aggressive way. Everyone has their own preference. His approach is definitely the most safe. If you learn from the best you have no choice but to do the best. Peace and love, may you have a good day.
@jaycrockett9205
@jaycrockett9205 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry if I seem aggressive, the comment wasn't directed to you , someone elseade a smart remarkabout the chemical question. Usually what the pro say is miss understood , he was speaking about bonsia tree ,expensive ramified ,old ,the method for trees like this is different for development of a tree or other things ,it's hard for him to be specific in a few min. For such a general question ,my comments are only ment to help ,I have asked all the same question myself and have been miss lead ,by the way ,no one really knows what the needs you give it what you think is best and it takes what it needs ,that why it better to use more than one type of food , and healthy trees do have there own insecticide s,thanks for your comments , this year I lost my favorite tree , a Japanese white pine ,to bark beetles as well as two others ,i paid alot financially and it hurt my ego lol.jad I been smart and preventive, I would probably still have the trees ,now I only have a couple pics , it really sucks good luck.
