Peach actually is Bowser Jr's mom: There's a part of the lore where the koopa kids are all orphans that Bowser adopts. He kidnaps peach to forcefully marry her because she is the ideal mom. Bowser even introduced her as thier new mom, with her partly taking care of them while captured (or at least showing sympathy). To the koopa kids, Peach is at least thier step-mom.

But the koopa kids didn't quite understand that and went along with what they're dad was telling them, so from the kid's and Bowser Jr's perspective she still was. She probably knew that, which is why I think that reaction was either sympathetic or a "not this again" thing.

I love rewatching videos from when Cyana’s plush first came out because I just looked up from my assignment to Cyana, who is currently sitting on my windowsill. I also think that it’s important to mention when I was gone from my dorm for Thanksgiving break, Cyana protected everything for me. She did a wonderful job.

The nearly forgot about the mort being evil thing, but this reminded me of it. I also remembered that the person making the videos said that he may have to make 15 or more parts just to fit in the information from the films and tv shows and to make some theories about mort.
